This paper is a report on in-progress investigation on antecedents of IS success in small and medium size enterprises. Previous studies on IS success in SME context largely extends research models derived from a large enterprise context. This research applies the grounded theory approach to 1109 ISP outputs exploring SME specific constructs in successful IS implementation and management. When successful, results of this research will provide insights into theories of IS in SME context that may practically applicable to IS practice in SMEs.

The Objective of this study is empirically investigating organizational/managerial factors affecting BPR implementation. The contributions of this research project are two-fold. First, this research project provides empirically tested CSFs and CFF of BPR implementation. Especially, the influence of the organizational culture, structure, and managerial support on BPR implementation were thoroughly investigated. Second, this research found the combined effects of CSF and CFF. Top management commitment, leadership style, and collaborative work environment were found to negate employee resistance to a reengineered process and lead to a successful BPR implementation, especially when the level of employee resistance is high.

본 연구는 DeLone & McLean의 정보시스템 성공 모형을 이용하여 IMS의 성과측정을 위한 대안으로 IMS의 도입과 그 효과에 대한 실증적 분석을 수행하였다. 연구목적을 달성하고자 IMS 도입과 정보시스템 성공 모형에 대한 측정요소에 대한 문헌검토와 가설의 설정과 검증을 수행하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, IMS를 구축하고 운영하는 조직에서 담당자들의 IMS사용의도를 증가하기 위해서는 정보 품질, 시스템품질, 서비스 품질에 초점을 맞추어 IMS를 구축해야 하며, 최우선은 서비스 품질 쪽에 비중을 두어야 한다는 것을 시사하고 있다. 둘째, IMS를 구축하여 운영하는 조직의 담당자들의 만족도를 증가하기 위해서는 시스템 품질, 서비스 품질, 정보 품질에 초점을 맞추어 구축해야 한다는 것을 시사하고 있다. 마지막으로 성과에 영향을 주는 항목으로는 사용자 만족도보다는 사용자 의도가 더 중요하다는 점을 발견하였다.

Under increased complexity and uncertainty of overseas construction projects, it is important for construction companies to improve their own project risk management capabilities instead of risk-taking strategies to secure competitiveness in the overseas construction market. Although most of the risks occur in project execution stage, many previous studies focused on planning stage including risk identification and analysis among PRM process. Therefore, this study aims to verify the effectiveness of whole PRM process during project execution stage through empirical study on participants of overseas construction projects. As the result it was found that first, the factor directly affects the project success is the execution process of PRM. It implies that appropriate actions such as appointing charged manager for risks, timely implementation of responding plan, continuous risk monitoring and updating established plan are the key for contribution to the project success. Second, the importance of communication in PRM is also found, which is not conducted at a specific but throughout the entire PRM process and need to be managed as essential factor for successful PRM..

The purpose of this study is to identify the critical factors for the successful implementation of e-business in the public sector. The paper reports on a case study of the 'Onbid' asset-management system developed by the Korean Asset Management Corporation (KAMCO). 'Onbid' system is an e-marketplace for trading in public assets, including the disposition by public sale of real estate. Through this case study, the paper: (i) explores the changes in organizational culture that are required for successful e-transformation in organizations of public sectors; and (ii) identifies the critical success factors for the implementation of e-business in the public sector.

The purpose of this research is to explore the possible relationship between the successful implementation of knowledge management technology and specific organizational culture orientations. Data used to test hypothesis derived for this research were obtained from 227 responders from the Organizational Culture Profile (OCP) survey instruments and 67 responders from the Knowledge Management Technology Profile (KMTP) survey instruments representing 26 separate organizations. The OCP provides a profile of an organization's culture orientations while the KMTP provides a profile of the organization's degree of the KM technology implementation success. The results of this research suggests that employees of organization which are more successful in implementing KM technology have identified organizational cultures that embody a healthy mixture of both production-oriented and people-oriented attributes indicative of the culture orientation.

최근 급격하게 변화하는 기업외부의 환경에 따라 기업의 민첩성(Agility)의 중요성이 대두되면서, 국내 외 기업들은 체계적인 비즈니스 프로세스 관리(Business Process Management) 중심의 경영을 통한 최적의 운영효율성을 확보하고자 한다. 그러나, BPM 도입 후 IT솔루션이라는 한정적 개념으로 인식하고 실패하는 사례들도 적지 않게 나타나고 있으며, 이에 대한 학술적 관점의 체계적인 BPM 연구가 부족한 실정이다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 Dynamic Capability(동적역량)와 Task-Technology Fit(과업-기술적합도) 이론에 근거한 프레임워크를 제시하여 효과적인 BPM 도입 및 활용을 위한 핵심성공요인(CSF)을 도출하였다. 본 연구에서는 또한 이론을 바탕으로 도출된 CSF들을 실증적을 분석하기 위해 BPM을 도입한 세 개의 국내 기업에 대해 사례분석을 수행하여, 향후 BPM을 도입한 국내기업들에게 제시한 CSF들을 성과지표로 참조하고 활용하는데 기여하고자 한다.

Background : To propose effective strategies for successful implementation of QI in health care institutions, by identifying facilitating factors and barriers to conducting QI programs. Methods : In order to examine empirical evidence on the success factors or barriers to QI implementation in hospitals, a literature study was performed on the basis of MEDLINE search. Among the identified literature. 13 provided reliable findings and basis comprehensive discussion on this issue and thus were selected for in-depth analysis. A mailed questionnaire survey was conducted for hospital CEOs and QI directors of hospitals with 400 beds or greater to investigate what attributes of their organizations they perceived as success factors or obstacles to QI implementation. Result : The analysis of selected literature and survey results presented that the primary factors considered to be most important as successful implementation of QI were: strong support from hospital CEOs, setting higher priority for QI activities, continuous and persistent efforts in QI activities, and active participation of clinical staffs. The barriers identified in this study were : the lack of orientation and understanding of QI concepts, low level of interest and participation of physician in QI programs, the lack of evaluation and rewarding system for QI activities. Conclusion : By identifying factors that affect facilitation of QI, the study results will be of great use for either institutions being in the early stage of evolving QI or those looking for better strategies to achieve more active and persistent QI implementation in their institutions.

본 연구에서는 ERP 구축과정을 4개의 단계(사전준비단계, 프로젝트단계, 정착단계, 향상단계)로 나누고 각 단계별 완성도가 전체성과에 미치는 영향을 측정하고, 동시에 4단계간에 이전단계의 완성도가 다음단계의 완성도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 살펴보았다. 각 단계별 완성도와 ERP 성과와의 관계를 검증한 결과, 프로젝트 단계와 향상단계의 완성도가 전체성과에 유의한 영향력을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 동시에 각 단계별 완성도간 관계를 살펴본 결과 모든 이전단계의 완성도는 바로 다음단계의 완성도에 매우 강한 영향력을 끼치는 것으로 조사되었다.

Business Process Change(BPC) is regarded as a salient factor to improve an organizations' efficiency in the current fast-changing business environment. Despite the tremendous popularity and great potential, the field of BPC adoption is littered with remarkable failures. Consequently, there have been many studies that have tried to identify the environmental factors that lead to successful BPC. However, most of them have not considered the effect of the interaction between the environmental factors on BPC success. According to Klempa(1995), the fit between environmental factors of a company may have the impact on its BPC success. Under this background, this paper empirically examines the effects of the fit between the type of BPC and the organization's culture on the success of BPC. Organization's cultures, organizational learning, as well as knowledge sharing are the dominant causes that have impact on the innovation characters of organization. Whether an organization has safety-oriented homogeneous culture or it has the change-oriented heterogeneous culture may have impact on its implementation of BPC. Also the implementation of BPC may be affected by whether the organization adopts the improvement project which accompanies only small changes or it adopts the innovation project which leads to critical changes. Thus, we analyzed the effect of the fit between the organization's culture and its BPC type on BPC success by using the survey data collected from the companies that have adopted BPC. The findings presented in this paper show that the organization having heterogeneous culture practicing innovation project and the organization having homogeneous culture practicing the improvement project resulted in the excellent BPC success.
