According to the ISO 14040(1997), Life Cycle Assessment is not the tool only focusing on the emissions from the manufacturing processes of a product, but the tool also expressing environmental adverse impact quantitatively through products entire life cycle (i.e. raw material acquisition, manufacturing, transportation, use, and end-of-life stage). Because the LCA for EMUs(Electrical Multiple Units), however, requires astronomical time and cost for collecting big amount of data. it is inevitable to bring in the simplified LCA methodology, In this study, we introduced standardized methodology of LCA in the world, and found appropriate S-LCA methodology for EMUs. Furthermore, we recommended how to evaluate the environmental impact of EMUs in detail and precisely, using the S-LCA.

The purpose of this paper is presented a rational method of predicting dynamic/impact tensile strength of high tensile steel materials widely used fur structural material of automobiles. It is known that the ultimate strength is related with the loading speed and the Lethargy Coefficient from the tensile test. The Dynamic Lethargy Coefficient is proportional to the disorientation of the molecular structure and indicates the magnitude of defects resulting from the probability of breaking the bonds responsible for its strength. The coefficient is obtained from the simple tensile test such as failure time and stresses at fracture. These factors not only affect the static strength but also have a great influence on the dynamic/impact characteristics of the joist and the adjacent structures. This strength is used to analyze the failure life prediction of mechanical system by virtue of its material fracture. The impact tensile test is performed to evaluate the life parameters due to loading speed with the proposed method. Also the evaluation of the dynamic/impact effect on the material tensile strength characteristics is compared with the result of Campbell-Cooper equation to verify the proposed method.

Certification revocation list(CRL) is needed for excluding compromised, faulty, illegitimate vehicle nodes and preventing the use of compromised cryptographic materials in vehicular communications. It should be distributed to vehicles resource-efficiently and CRL computational load of vehicles should not impact on life-critical applications with delay sensitive nature such as the pre-crash sensing that affords under 50msec latency. However, in the existing scheme, when a vehicle receives CRL, the vehicle calculates linkage values from linkage seeds, which results in heavy computational load. This paper proposes, a new CRL distribution scheme is proposed, which minimizes the time for CRL processing of vehicles. In the proposed scheme, the linkage value calculation procedure is performed by road-side unit(RSU) instead of the vehicle, and then the extracted linkage values are relayed to the vehicle transparently. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme reduces the CRL computational load dramatically, which would minimize impact on life-critical applications' operations with low latency.
Fragility as one of the most effective methods to evaluate seismic performance, which is greatly affected by damage index. Taking a multi span continuous rigid frame offshore bridge as an example. Based on fragility and reliability theory, considering coupling effect of time-varying durability damage of materials and time-varying attenuation effect of damage index to analyze seismic performance of offshore bridges. Results show that IDA curve considering time-varying damage index is obviously below that without considering; area enclosed by IDA of 1# pier and X-axis under No.1 earthquake considering this effect is 96% of that without considering. Area enclosed by damage index of 1# pier and X-axis under serious damage with considering time-varying damage index is 90% of that without considering in service period. Time-varying damage index has a greater impact on short pier when ground motion intensity is small, while it has a great impact on high pier when the intensity is large. The area enclosed by fragility of bridge system and X-axis under complete destruction considering time-varying damage index is 165% of that without considering when reach designed service life. Therefore, time-varying attenuation effect of damage index has a great impact on seismic performance of bridge in service period.

This study aims to identify factors that affect the quality of life of rural residents. Data were collected from 4,000 rural residents living in rural areas. Raw data was procured from the 'Survey on Rural Well-being in 2022 in Rural Development Administration'. The main results of the ordinal logit regression analysis are as follows. First, in the case of non-farm households, female, immigrants, more educated, more healthy are more likely to be highly perceived quality of life. In the case of full-time farm households, more healthy are more likely to be highly perceived quality of life. In the case of part-time farm households, younger, married, more healthy are more likely to be highly perceived quality of life. Second, for all rural housholds(non-farmers, full-time farmers, and part-time farmers), local amenities and safety also had positive impact on perception of quality of life.
The purpose of this study was to examine the differences in satisfaction of leisure life and quality of life using standardized evaluation tools developed by WHO. Resource availability when dining out was measured by objective index(time of dining out, dining out expense) and subjective index(perceived satisfaction with time of dining out and dining out expense). In this study, 500 questionnaires(male & female adults) located in Seoul and the metropolitan area were sampled by convenience sampling and gather in 433 sheets of questionnaire. Data was analyzed by frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis and regression analysis using SPSS Win 12.0. As a result there was high positive correlation between time of dining out, dining out expense and perceived satisfaction with time of dining out and dining out expense. Moreover, dining out resources impact on leisure life satisfaction and quality of life. Leisure life satisfaction had fairly high effects on quality of life. Since there is an increase in leisure time the desire to improve quality of life while enjoying dining out as a part of leisure life is increasing and as various forms of consumption takes place, it suggests that segmentation of dining out market is necessary and marketing strategy should be established.
This study examined influence of strengths of family life and satisfaction with school life on adolescent psychological well-being, particularly targeting at high school students in the rapidly changing IT-based society. In order to investigate influence of factors related to home and school as the main living spaces on improving adolescent psychological well-being, a survey of 251 students at K academic high school in Busan was conducted and then multiple regression analysis was carried out. Firstly, the analysis showed that adolescents' sharing time at home could make a positive impact on their positive interpersonal relationships. It also showed that family bonds could have a positive impact on adolescents' positive interpersonal relationships, the goal of life, and personal growth, and thus satisfaction in communication at home was a factor that could be helpful to environmental control. Secondly, it indicated that adolescents' satisfaction with school life was a factor that had a positive impact on self-acceptance, environmental control, and the goal of life among the sub-factors of psychological well-being. It turned out that peer relationships could have a positive impact on positive interpersonal relationships, likewise school lessons and peer relationships could have a positive impact on autonomy. According to the results of analysis, factors related to strengths of family life and satisfaction with school life could affect adolescent psychological well-being. Therefore, these findings can be applied to establishing major youth policy.
Background: A hip fracture may occur spontaneously prior to the hip impact, due to the muscle pulling force exceeding the strength of the femur. Objects: We conducted falling experiments with humans to measure the activity of the hip muscles, and to examine how this was affected by the fall type. Methods: Eighteen individuals fell and landed sideways on a mat, by mimicking video-captured real-life older adults' falls. Falling trials were acquired with three fall directions: forward, backward, or sideways, and with three knee positions at the time of hip impact, where the landing side knee was free of constraint, or contacted the mat or the contralateral knee. During falls, the activities of the iliopsoas (Ilio), gluteus medius (Gmed), gluteus maximus (Gmax) and adductor longus (ADDL) muscles were recorded. Outcome variables included the time to onset, activity at the time of hip impact, and timing of the peak activity with respect to the time of hip impact. Results: For Ilio, Gmed, Gmax, and ADDL, respectively, EMG onset averaged 292, 304, 350, and 248 ms after fall initiation. Timing of the peak activity averaged 106, 96, 84, and 180 ms prior to the hip impact, and activity at the time of hip impact averaged 72.3, 45.2, 64.3, and 63.4% of the peak activity. Furthermore, the outcome variables were associated with fall direction and/or knee position in all but the iliopsoas muscle. Conclusion: Our results provide insights on the hip muscle activation during a fall, which may help to understand the potential injury mechanism of the spontaneous hip fracture.
