  • This study is about Christian Dior's and Martin Margiela's fashion works that create 'New look' which leads the periodic ideology, philosophies, circumstances and the trend at that time. For the systematized interpretation, this study investigates the iconology of E. Panofsky, E. H. Gombrich and N. Goodman. Based on their theories, iconological analysis paradigm is made into four phases: I. Recognition of iconological form, II. Analysis of External Elements, III. Analysis of symbolic meanings and artistic will and IV. Aesthetic enjoyment and communication with a viewer. Christian Dior treats woman as a organic and architectural structure. He falls in love with himself such as narcissus and woman who wears his works. Dior's ego is visualized by woman and his works which are the symbol of narcissism and beauty. Martin Margiela makes form of clothes and at the same time destroys. Margiela deconstructs aura of clothes and tries to make it unfamiliar. Also he changes traditional idea of beauty and creates 'ugliness' which is a notion of dialectic. Margiela transforms elements of clothes which brings variation of thinking and makes it possible to create new look. Christian Dior and Martin Margiela are the creators of new look which visualizes the notion of habitus that is the space of self-exists. Fashion dose not have to be what people wears but it could be an image itself. It means that fashion is a part of ontology and it is a 'New look' which is based on economy, the standard of periodical beauty and ideal aspects. The creation of clothes is a work of embodiment of human being where it constructed or deconstructed.

  • The TMO may contain two types of methods, time-triggered methods(also called the spontaneous methods of SpMs) which are clearly separated from the conventional service methods (SvMs). The SpM executions are triggered upon design time whereas the SvM executions are triggered by service request message from clients. In this paper, we describes the application environment as the patient monitor telemedicine system with TMO structure. Vital sign information web viewer systems is also the standard protocol for medical image and transfer. We have to design to obtain useful vital sign information, which is generated at parsing data receiver modulor of HIS with TMO structure, that is offered by the central monitor of ICU. In order to embrace new technologies as telemedicine service, it is important to develope the standard protocol between different systems in the hospital, as well as the communication with external hospital systems.

  • Purpose: To investigate the prevalence of bifid and trifid mandibular canals using cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) images, and to measure their length, diameter, and angle. Materials and Methods: CBCT images of 500 patients, involving 755 hemi-mandibles, were used for this study. The presence and type of bifid mandibular canal was evaluated according to a modified classification of Naitoh et al. Prevalence rates were determined according to age group, gender, and type. Further, their diameter, length, and angles were measured using PACSPLUS Viewer and ImageJ 1.46r. Statistical analysis with chi-squared and analysis of variance (ANOVA) tests was performed. Results: Bifid and trifid mandibular canals were found in 22.6% of the 500 patients and 16.2% of the 755 sides. There was no significant difference between genders and among age groups. The retromolar canal type accounted for 71.3% of the identified canals; the dental canal type, 18.8%; the forward canal type, 4.1%; and the trifid canal type, 5.8%. Interestingly, seven cases of the trifid canal type, which has been rarely reported, were observed. The mean diameter of the bifid and trifid mandibular canals was 2.2 mm and that of the main mandibular canal was 4.3 mm. Their mean length was 16.9 mm; the mean superior angle was $149.2^{\circ}$, and the mean inferior angle was $37.7^{\circ}$. Conclusion: Bifid and trifid mandibular canals in the Korean population were observed at a relatively high rate through a CBCT evaluation, and the most common type was the retromolar canal. CBCT is suggested for a detailed evaluation of bifid and trifid mandibular canals before mandibular surgery.

  • In this paper, we designed a tabletop display which enables two viewers each to see a different image simultaneously within his/her defined viewing zone. In order to construct the designed viewing zones, we found the basic design conditions for a parallax barrier with a commercial LCD panel. As the viewing zones for two viewers are formed with only two view-point design, the interval between the center positions of each viewing zone and the width of each viewing zone are small compared to designed values. We analyzed the primary cases, introduced two modified design methods to enlarge the interval and the width of the viewing zones, and simulated their characteristics. As designed with six unit view-point and each viewing zone of each viewer is formed with a merged view-point, we found that adequate interval and width of viewing zones can be made, and we verified it in comparison with the tabletop display module that we fabricated.

  • According to increase of preference to the large display device, demand of a three-tube projection TV increase in the display market. But luminance per unit area of a 3-tube projection TV is less bright than that of original one -tube TV The color gamut of phosphor used in the projection TV is different to standard gamut of phosphor in NTSC. In this paper, we analyze the relationship between coordinates of RGB phosphor and RGB beam currents according to the color temperature in projection HDTV. We also proposed the range of reference white which maximize the luminance that viewer feel based on both Helmholtz-Kohlrausch effect which is visual property and degradation of image according to the change of beam profile by current-ratio.

  • Artificial lights have effected the changes of art and fashion concepts as well as human life since the invention of electric light bulb in late 19th century. Artist and designer have had more interested in these artificial lights as the development of digital technology and the change of millennium and they have tried to apply the lights into their works. The purpose of this study is to analyze the aesthetic characteristics of contemporary fashion design using artificial light as a medium. Artificial light for fashion design means the light using luminescent material like phosphorescent and fluorescent materials or in combination with electroluminescent digital technology or the light that can be perceived as images when light projects from media using a light projector or other digital equipment. Fashion design using this light type can change colors or form temporarily and it can playa role as a gadget for hm or as equipment to provide information much as a computer monitor does. And designer can create virtual patterns on the surface of clothes, or virtual fashion like a 3-dimensional holography in empty space. In these fashion designs, the virtual image of light is substituted for physical formative elements in fashion, and the viewer can experience an ambiguity between reality and virtuality. The results of the study were as follow; The formative characteristics of those fashion designs were identified as visibility, indeterminacy, integration and virtuality. And they reflected the internal meanings; the persue of protection and safety, the search for experiment and innovation, the will for interaction and communication and the desire for the deviation and fun.

  • The motion effect of animation can be maximized by using the intended number of frame(flickering phenomena) responding to the viewer's perception in the production processes. But, the high contrast of chroma in a color arrangement can cause very dangerous situation if a particular effect(scheduled number of frame for the intended rapid flickering in a zoom-in scene of the warning light of police car and the traffic light) or a excessive visual stimulus is tried. The danger of flickering phenomena is defined as 'Flash Nervousness Attack Symptom' in medical terminology, which has received wide attention because the damage to the viewers of Pocket Monster was very serious in Japan. Producing a piece of animation work, the quality control of colors is important but the color setting considering the psychological aspects, the danger of repetitive flickering of flashes and patterns in image effect are more serious, so these factors should be checked in the production stages. After investigating the domestic and foreign prescriptions including the guidelines for animation production technique in Japan, a solution to reduce the danger of flickering phenomena of color and light was suggested through statistical comparative analysis with the test results.

  • An advantage of parallax barrier displays is that they can also display 2D and 3D contents and can be automatically switched between the two types. But, as the viewer changes position, different views of the scene will be directed by the barrier to the visual system. Moving horizontally beyond a certain point will produce "image flipping" of the different views of the scene. These limitations make unavoidable the use of another autostereoscopic display solutions like eye tracking or increasing the number of views. In this paper, a method of the moving parallax barrier design is introduced to supplement a disadvantage of the fixed parallax barrier that provides observation at specific locations. For making the moving parallax barrier, the cross connector with 640 lines FPC is designed. A commercially available web camera is utilized to implement eye-tracking system and shows the experimental result.

  • Beginning in 1990's, 3D filmmaking reappeared. As almost every job in filmmaking is digitalized, 3D takes advantage of its new software and hardware, and digital friendly customers as well. One reason why Korean cinema should take 3D seriously is that it can resolve the old and tough problem of unemployed human resources in film production. Another reason is the cooperation programs in which universities and 3D companies can join. 3D cinema can create new cinema goers who don't belong the regular viewer. The totally new experience of 3D can bring people to the movie theaters, and this will add up the total movie customers that expand the whole film industry. The newly designed 3D also could take care of piracy of movie file uploading and downloading through internet. 3D cinema would be precious alternative for film industries of Korea.
