The Correlation between Clothing Style and Hair Style related to Fashion Image (패션이미지에 따른 의복스타일과 헤어스타일의 상관성)

  • The purpose of this study was to find out proper evaluative words according to fashion image and to identify the correlation between clothing style and hair style related to fashion image. The questionnaire was used to collect data. 326 female aged between 23 to 40 were selected for the subjects of this study. The data were analyzed by frequency, factor analysis, pearsons correlation. The results of this study were as follows. 1. Evaluative words for each fashion image were selected by factor analysis. modern image intellectual, cold, urbane, simple, straight. elegance image : graceful, dignified, refined, decorous, luxurious. romantic image : cute, lovely, girlish, feminine, romantic. natural image : natural, comfortable, gentle, intimate, soft. casual image : energetic, active, free, cheerful, vivid. avant-garde image : experimental, strange, creative, avant-garde, irregular. 2. Correlation between clothing style image and hair style image ; clothing style and hair style was positively correlated. with the same image in case of modern, romantic, casual, elegance and avantgarde but natural image of clothing style was correlated with the natural, elegance, romantic, modern image of hair style. 3. The most suitable hair style for the clothing style according to fashion image : The clothing style of a particular image was matched best with the hair style of the same image.

The Effect of Mass Media on Women's Clothing Image, Make-up Image and Hair Image (매스미디어가 여성의 의복과 메이크업 및 헤어이미지에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of mass media on women's clothing image, make-up image, and hair image. The subjects of the study were 306 women who lived in Gyeongnam area. Data were collected during June in 2009. Statistical analysis used in this study were frequency, F-test, t-test, Duncan test, factor analysis, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$, correlation coefficient, and multiple regression. The results of this study were as follows. The mass media according to the demographic characteristic of women showed significant difference. Three factors of clothing image were titled as elegance, youth, and visibility. Three factors of make-up image were titled as modern, romanticism, and mediocrity. Four factors of hair image were titled as attraction, individuality, gentleness, and cuteness. The mass media resulted in correlation with the clothing image, make-up image, and hair image. The mass media had a influence on the clothing image, make-up image, and hair image. The study results are highly expected to be used as useful sources in one's image formation and a marketing plan.

The Suggestion of Particular Area Image Search Method (부분 영역 이미지 검색 방법의 제안)

  • We propose a method to connect partial image in whole image to partial image in whole image of other internet site. For this study, we have developed four partial image generation methods and retrieval methods. A method of 'image segmentation' that cuts out only partial images that want to provide information from the whole image, a method of 'creating an image block' that finds outermost points of a cut-out partial image, a method of 'Stamp transformation of outer points', which connects outer points and registers them as the most similar image stamp, and a retrieval method that connects image stamps with other image stamps are developed. We suggested a image search UI that can use image stamps in various ways.

  • The nature of animation is to create a moving image. Also, it creates a narrative space and visual image which is different form a reality. Therefore, image expression is very important in the animation. Although the domestic animation has a movement, it has not an image which has meaning. For instance, Korean fiction animation ${\ulcorner}$My beautiful girl, Mary${\lrcorner}$ has grand prize in Anncy International Animated Film Festival, 2002. Such achievement give new vision and present a clue of development to our national animation. However, not many people went to the cinema to watch it. The reason is that although 'Mary' has the Fantastic image, she doesn't show a true life image. The film is revival of reality through the image. However, animation is revival of reality through the 'transformation' of the existing image. Therefore, reviving exactly the same as a reality is not the most important fact in the animation image. Preferably, the most important fact in the animation image is that reviving reality into highly wrought image. This paper will study an expression form of animation trough the image. Image Encryption Using Phase-Based Virtual Image and Interferometer

  • In this paper, we propose an improved optical security system using three phase-encoded images and the principle of interference. This optical system based on a Mach-Zehnder interferometer consists of one phase-encoded virtual image to be encrypted and two phase-encoded images, en-crypting image and decrypting image, where every pixel in the three images has a phase value of '0'and'$\pi$'. The proposed encryption is performed by the multiplication of an encrypting image and a phase-encoded virtual image which dose not contain any information from the decrypted im-age. Therefore, even if the unauthorized users steal and analyze the encrypted image, they cannot reconstruct the required image. This virtual image protects the original image from counterfeiting and unauthorized access. The decryption of the original image is simply performed by interfering between a reference wave and a direct pixel-to-pixel mapping image of the en crypted image with a decrypting image. Computer simulations confirmed the effectiveness of the proposed optical technique for optical security applications.

A Study on Linking Korean Wave and Corporate Image on Country Image, Perceived Quality: A Study of China

  • This study examines the linkage between Korean wave, corporate image and country image, perceived quality of products made in the country. To close a gap lacking empirical studies on impacts of corporate image to country image and to further understand impacts of Korean wave, this study conducts survey over Chinese consumers to test the effects of corporate image, Korean wave to the country image, and verify on its effects to perceived quality of the products made in the country. The results show that both corporate image and Korean wave influences to form positive country image of Korea, and perceived quality of Korean made products. The size of effects varies upon products type and stimuli. This study could provide policy makers insights how to promote country image as well as support SMEs for developing overseas markets. Also, it could give marketers valuable implications to develop effective global marketing strategies using cultural assets, country image and salient corporate image.

Self-Image and Clothing Behavior of College Men (남자대학생의 자기 이미지와 의복행동에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to classify the contents of self-image of college men and to investigate how clothing behavior was influenced by self-image, age, major, and the expenses of clothing. Samples were 342 male students of univer-sity in Seoul. Results of this study were following : 1. Four factors of self-image derived by factor analysis : F. 1‘mature-unmatured’;F. 2‘characteristic-ordinary’; F. 3‘conservative-open’; F. 4‘dominant-submissive’.2. 5 variables of clothing behavior were influenced by real self-image. Fashion was influenced by characteristic, open, dominant image, and the expenses of clothing. The ex-planatory power of the 4 variables was 29.3%. Aesthetics was influenced by characteristic, submissive, conservative image, the expenses of clothing, and age(R2=28.7%). Modesty was influenced by conservative and ordinary im-age(R2=6.5%). Coformity was influenced by ordinary image and the expenses of clothing (R2=5.7%). Comfort was influenced by dominant image and age(R2=5.3%). 3. 5 variables of clothing behavior were influenced by ideal self-image. Fashion was influenced by unmatured, characteristic, sub-missive image, and the expenses of clothing (R2=28.9%). Aesthetics was influenced by characteristic image, the expenses of clothing, and age(R2=23.5%). Modesty was influenced by conservative, mature, and ordinary image (R2=8.3%). Coformity was influenced by ordinary image(R2=1.9%). Comfort was influenced by mature image and age(R2=5.6%). The findings indicated that self-image had a significant effect on fashion and aesthetics, and characteristic image and conservative image were important variables that affected clothing behavior of college men.

  • In this paper, a low price ultrasound image processing system is developed using DSP and PC. Ultrasound for image is generated by the 32-channel transducer. Ultrasound image is captured by DSP instead of the private image grabber board. Display of image and image processing algorithms are performed by PC. The image processing algorithms based on GUI are realized by software. So users without knowledge of image processing can perform the image enhancement more easily.

  • The purpose of this study is understanding modern woman's various aesthetic values and aesthetic sense through observing expression aspects of gender images in the 1990s military fashion and analyzing their aesthetic characteristics and formative factors. Gender images in military fashion have expressed the masculine image of authoritative image and offensive image and offensive image, and the feminine image of conservative image and ostentatious image, sensual image. The authoritative image showed authority and dignity of military uniform by using the classic military uniform's image. This spoke for desire of women to rise their position. Heroism and androcentrism affected as its formation factor. The offensive image destroyed original dignified image of military uniform by that resistance to authoritative image and existing gender identity appeared as way-out form and deconstructive expression. Anti-establishment spirit, resistance to gender identity, and deconstructionism affected as its formation factor. The conservative image expressed military fashion only with slim and soft silhouette, curved line, color, and simple details by magnifying feminity. Fallen man's authority affected as its formation factor. The ostentatious image expressed military fashion with magnifying accessories such as gold button and belt by women who wanted to display ostentatiously their social position and charm. The aspiration for class of elite affected as its formation factor. The sensual image intended to show erotic voluptuous beauty of woman's body by indirect and direct body exposure. Narcissism, desire to show, and sexual amusement affected as its formation factor.

Image Enhancement Algorithm and its Application in Image Defogging

  • An image enhancement algorithm and image defogging method are studied in this paper. The formation of fog and the characteristics of fog image are analyzed, and the fog image is preprocessed by histogram equalization method; then the additive white noise is removed by foggy image attenuation model, the atmospheric scattering physical model is constructed, the image detail characteristics are enhanced by image enhancement method, and the visual effect of defogging image is enhanced by guided filtering method. The proposed method has a good defogging effect on the image. When the number of training iterations is 3,000, the peak signal-to-noise ratio of the proposed method is 43.29 dB and the image structure similarity is 0.9616, indicating excellent image defogging effect.
