  • The purpose of this paper is to construct a system that matches the patient's image disease information with the medical image viewer in providing the medical image information to the medical staff. Currently, medical image information systems that are commercialized mostly provide only one image viewer with various image information of diseases or use incompatible exclusive viewers. For this reason, we designed and implemented a medical image information viewer matching system that integrates and provides specialized viewers that can be selected by diseases' image information. That is, it is a system to match and view medical image viewers based on disease information extracted from tag information stored as the metadata in DICOM file, which is medical image information standard, for disease-specific viewer matching. We analyzed the execution performances through our retrieval service of medical image information from our implementation system, and showed compatibility and control with various viewers.

  • The Unattended fire detection system using a wireless communication device is designed in this paper. If a fire occurs in some area, the system can detect and automatically extinguish the fire. The major functions for the system are: Unattended detection system for fire based on wireless communication system and Automatic extinguish device system; Thermal imaging camera and video camera system; Monitoring viewer and map viewer system.

  • With the rapid progress of medical image information system, a variety of researches for the system that can read and decipher the medical images in anytime and anywhere have been studied. In this paper, we develop personal digital assistant (PDA) device based mobile digital imaging and communications in medicine (DICOM) image viewer that can process the received medical images at any time. In particular, with the aid of the proposed mobile DICOM image viewer, we can read several images simultaneously and we can read the selected image only from the several images. To cope with the small size of PDA screen, the function of image enlargement is also included in the proposed mobile DICOM image viewer.

  • PACS mostly has been used in large scaled hospital due to expensive initial cost to set up the system. The network of PACS is independent of the others: network. The user's PC has to be connected physically to the network of PACS as well as the image viewer has to be installed. The web based mini-PACS can store, manage and search inexpensively a large quantity of radiologic image acquired in a hospital. The certificated user can search and diagnose the radiologic image using web browser anywhere Internet connected. The implemented Image viewer is a viewer to diagnose the radiologic image. Which support the DICOM standard and was implemented to use JAVA programming technology. The JAVA program language is cross-platform which makes easier upgrade the system than others. The image filter was added to the viewer so as to diagnose the radiologic image in detail. In order to access to the database, the user activates his web browser to specify the URL of the web based PACS. Thus, The invoked PERL script generates an HTML file, which displays a query form with two fields: Patient name and Patient ID. The user fills out the form and submits his request via the PERL script that enters the search into the relational database to determine the patient who is corresponding to the input criteria. The user selects a patient and obtains a display list of the patient's personal study and images.

  • The purpose of the study is to develop an integrated viewer which can display both text and image files on the Internet environment. Up to now, most viewers for full-text databases can be displayed documents only by image or graphic viewers. The newly developed system can compress document files in commercial word processors (e.g, 한글TM, WordTM, ExceITM, PowerpointTM, HunminJungumTM, ArirangTM, CADTM), as well as conventional TIFF image file in smaller size, which were converted into DVI(DeVice Independent) file format, and display them on computer screen. IDoc Viewer was evaluated to test its performance by user group, consisting of 5 system developers, 5 librarians, and 10 end-users. IDoc Viewer has been proved to be good or excellent at 20 out of 26 check lists.

  • Based on current practical needs for geo-spatial information on mobile platform, the main theme of this study is a design and implementation of dynamic 3D terrain rendering system using spaceborne imagery, as a kind of texture image for photo-realistic 3D scene generation on mobile environment. Image processing and 3D graphic techniques and algorithms, such as TIN-based vertex generation with regular spacing elevation data for generating 3D terrain surface, image tiling and image-vertex texturing in order to resolve limited resource of mobile devices, were applied and implemented by using graphic pipeline of OpenGL|ES (Embedded System) API. Through this implementation and its tested results with actual data sets of DEM and satellite imagery, we demonstrated the realizable possibility and adaptation of complex typed and large sized 3D geo-spatial information in mobile devices. This prototype system can be used to mobile 3D applications with DEM and satellite imagery in near future.

  • This paper aims to develop the One-In-One web solutions that can work in PC, tablet, notebook, and smart phone depending on the flow of the ICT times to promote the marketing of the technology. The characteristics of this web solutions can be used to a image viewer system of 3D array type for PC, tablet, notebook, and smart phone. It is implemented in the design of 3D display slide show type. And it is developed an image viewer system, which enables users to use by utilizing the links manner ICT base required by each channel of the image. This is the 3D photo viewer PR solution developed in the way that anyone can use easily without the knowledge of programming in various areas such as public relations, business, and education.

  • Stereo PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) is not available yet because of some limitations of medical stereo image software and viewing devices. As a stereo PACS viewer, we designed two functions. One is selecting and viewing a multiplexed stereo image directly, and the other is selecting a stereo pair image (left and right sides both) and merging the stereo pair image into a multiplexed image in software. For the medical image compression of 3-D stereo endoscopic images, we used JPEG and Wavelet compression and to determine an acceptable compression rate using PSNR (Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio). As a result, we got the conclusion that medically acceptable image compression rate should have the PSNR of above about 40[dB] (JPEG (5:1), Wavelet (10:1)).

  • The Growth in wireless Internet has made Networking possible at anytime and anywhere. So mobile devices like cellular phone and PDA are now used in various fields. In particular, the mobility of mobile devices has a great advantage in remote control. This paper designed and implemented a Mobile VNC system that transmitted the screen image of a remote computer, control the remote computer GU and monitor all by cellular phone. The proposed system consists of a Mobile Viewer un on the cellular phone, VNC Server m on a number of remote computers and a VNC Monitor. For communication between the VNC Server and the Mobile Viewer the MRFB protocol is used. The screen image transmitted to the Mobile Viewer is encoded in the PNG format supported by SK-VM, the Java execution environment of the Cellular phone. According to implementation results, the image is about $2KB\~8KB$. According to the 65 times transmission test, the average frame per second is 4.93fps in the emulator and a real cellular phone takes 0.8fps. Therefore, the proposed system is more efficient than existing systems.
