KOMPSAT 영상을 활용한 SLIC 계열 Superpixel 기법의 최적 파라미터 분석 및 변화 탐지 성능 비교 (Optimal Parameter Analysis and Evaluation of Change Detection for SLIC-based Superpixel Techniques Using KOMPSAT Data)

  • 객체 기반 영상 분석은 영상의 복잡도를 낮추는 동시에 영상의 특성을 유지한다는 점에서 픽셀 기반 영상 분석보다 높은 효율성과 정보 활용 가능성을 지닌다. Superpixel은 일반적인 영상 분할보다 작은 영상 단위로 영상을 과분할함으로써 영상 내의 경계를 보다 잘 유지할 수 있다. 이 가운데 SLIC(Simple linear iterative clustering) superpixel 기법은 기존의 기법들보다 높은 품질의 영상 분할 결과를 제시하는 것으로 알려져 있다. 이러한 SLIC 기법의 입력 파라미터인 superpixel의 개수는 영상 분할 결과에 큰 영향을 미침에도 이에 대한 연구는 선행 연구에서 충분히 다루어지지 않았다. 이에 본 연구에서는 KOMPSAT 영상을 이용하여 변화 탐지 활용 연구를 위한 SLIC 계열 superpixel 기법의 최적 파라미터 분석 및 변화 탐지 성능 비교를 수행하였다. 사용된 superpixel 기법은 SLIC, SLIC0(SLIC의 무변수 버전), SNIC(Simple non-iterative clustering) 의 세 가지 기법으로, $5{\times}5$(픽셀)에서 $50{\times}50$(픽셀)의 superpixel 크기 범위에 대해서 superpixel 개수를 지정하여 superpixel 분할 영상을 생성하고 변화 탐지 참조 영상에 대한 재현율을 분석하였다. 이를 통해 얻어진 최적 superpixel 크기를 바탕으로 변화를 탐지하고자 하는 두 영상의 차 영상을 분할한 후 일정 크기의 객체로 clustering하였다. 두 시기(bi-temporal) 영상으로부터 얻어진 공통된 영상경계는 전후 영상에 각각 적용함으로써 각 superpixel의 feature(Lab 색상 차이) 변화를 탐지하였다. 최종적인 변화 탐지 결과는 참조 영상을 통해 그 성능이 분석하였으며, 영상의 과분할 정도가 높지 않더라도 규칙적인 크기와 형태의 superpixel을 통해 높은 변화 탐지 성능을 달성할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

Neighborhood Correlation Image Analysis for Change Detection Using Different Spatial Resolution Imagery

  • The characteristics of neighborhood correlation images for change detection were explored at different spatial resolution scales. Bi-temporal QuickBird datasets of Las Vegas, NV were used for the high spatial resolution image analysis, while bi-temporal Landsat $TM/ETM^{+}$ datasets of Suwon, South Korea were used for the mid spatial resolution analysis. The neighborhood correlation images consisting of three variables (correlation, slope, and intercept) were evaluated and compared between the two scales for change detection. The neighborhood correlation images created using the Landsat datasets resulted in somewhat different patterns from those using the QuickBird high spatial resolution imagery due to several reasons such as the impact of mixed pixels. Then, automated binary change detection was also performed using the single and multiple neighborhood correlation image variables for both spatial resolution image scales.

이종 영상 간의 무감독 변화탐지를 위한 초분광 영상의 차원 축소 방법 분석 (Dimensionality Reduction Methods Analysis of Hyperspectral Imagery for Unsupervised Change Detection of Multi-sensor Images)

  • 원격탐사 센서 기술의 발전으로 다양한 분광정보를 지니는 위성영상의 취득이 가능해졌다. 특히, 초분광 영상(hyperspectral image)은 연속적이고 좁은 분광파장대의 영역으로 구성되어 있기 때문에, 토지피복분류, 표적탐지, 환경 모니터링 등 다양한 분야에 효과적으로 활용할 수 있다. 원격탐사자료를 활용한 변화탐지 기법은 일반적으로 동일한 차원을 지닌 자료들의 차분을 통해 수행되기 때문에, 차원이 다른 이종 센서에는 적용하기 어려운 단점을 지니고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 다른 차원을 지닌 초분광 영상과 고해상도 위성영상에 적용가능한 변화탐지 기법을 개발하고, 이종 영상 간의 변화탐지기법 적용 가능성을 확인하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여, 변화탐지 기법의 적용을 위해 상관도분석, 주성분분석 등을 활용하여 초분광 영상의 차원을 축소시켜 변화탐지에 사용하였으며, 변화탐지 알고리즘은 CVA(Change Vector Analysis)을 사용하였다. 변화탐지 성능의 평가를 위해 참조자료를 사용하여 ROC(Receiver Operating Characteristics) 곡선과, AUC(Area Under Curve)을 계산하였다. 실험결과, 원 초분광 영상을 활용한 경우보다, 적합한 차원 감소 기법을 통해 제작한 영상을 사용하였을 때의 변화탐지 성능이 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이는 차원 감소 기법을 적용하여 초분광 영상이 지니고 있는 잡음을 제거하는 것이 변화탐지 성능에 영향을 미치는 것으로 판단된다. 추후 연구로는 융합기법을 적용한 고해상도 다중분광 영상을 이용하여 공간 해상도의 차이에 따른 변화탐지 성능을 분석할 예정이다.

영상의 차연산과 비연산 기법에 의한 도시지역의 토지피복 변화탐지 (Detecting Land Cover Change in an Urban Area by Image Differencing and Image Ratioing Techniques)

  • 본 연구에서는 두 가지의 다른 센서에 의하여 획득된 다시기 항공사진과 KOMPSAT-1 EOC 위성영상을 이용하여 급속하게 변화하는 도시지역의 변화를 검출하고자 하였다. 모든 영상에 대한 1, 2차 기하보정을 통하여 좌표계와 축척을 일치시킨 다음, 동일한 조건 하에서 변화를 검출하기 위하여 7m의 공간해상도로 영상을 재배열하였다. 팬크로매틱 항공사진과 KOMPSAT-1 EOC 영상에 대하여 영상의 차연산 기법과 비연산 기법을 각각 적용하여 건물, 구조물, 도로, 기타 인공지물 등 변화를 검출할 수 있었으며, 다른 유형의 센서 영상을 이용한 시계열적 변화탐지의 잠재성을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 영상의 차연산과 비연산 기법에 의한 변화탐지에 있어서 최적의 임계값을 제시하였다.

현대회화에서의 형태와 물질 -Digital Transfiguration에 관한 연구- (Digital painting: Image transfonnation, simulation, heterologie and transfonnation)

  • The words which appeared in my theoretical study and work are image transformation to digital painting, simulation, heterologie and transfiguration, etc. Firstly, let's look into 'digital era' or 'new media era'. Nowadays, the image world including painting within the rapid social and cultural change, which is called as digital era, is having the dramatic change. Together with the development of scientific technology, large number of events which was deemed to be impossible is happening as real in image world Moreover, these changes in image world is greatly influencing to our life. The word which compresses this change of image world and shows is 'digital'. Digit, which means fingers in Latin, indicates separately changing signal, and to be more narrow, it indicates the continual signal of '0' and ' 1' in computer. The opposite word is 'analogue'. As analogue is the word meaning 'infer' or 'similarity', it indicates the signal or form which continuously changes along the series of time when it is compared to digital. Instead of analogue, digital is embossed as a major ruler along the whole area of our current culture. In whole culture and art area, and in whole generalscience, digital is appearing as it has the modernism and importance. The prefix, 'digital', e.g. digital media, digital culture, digital design, digital philosophy, etc, is treated as the synonym of modernism and something new. This advent of digital results the innovative change to the image world, creates the new beauty experience which we could not experience before, and forecasts the formation of advanced art and expansion of creative area. Various intellectual activities using computer is developing the whole world with making the infrastructure. Computer in painting work immediately accomplishes the idea of painters, takes part in simulation work, contingency such as abrupt reversal, extraction, twisting, shaking, obscureness, overlapping, etc, and timing to stimulate the creativity of painters, and provides digital formative language which enables new visual experience to the audience. When the change of digital era, the image appeared in my work is shown in 'transfiguration' like drawing. The word, 'transfiguration' does not indicate the completed and fixed real substance but indicate endlessly moving and floating shape. Thus, this concept is opposite to the substantial consideration, so that various concepts which is able to replace this in accordance with the similar cases are also exist such as change, deterioration, mutation, deformity of appearance and morphing which is frequently used in computer as a technical word. These concepts are not clearly classified, and variably and complicatedly related. Transfiguration basically means the denial of "objectivity' and '(continual) stagnation' or deviation from those. This phenomenon is appeared through the all art schools of art ever since the realism is denied in the 19th century. It is called as 'deformation' in case of expressionism, futurism, cubism, etc, in the beginning of the century, which its former indication is mostly preserved within the process of structural deviation and which has the realistic limit which should be preserved. On the contrary, dramatic transfiguration which has been showing in the modern era through surrealism is different in the point that dramatic transfiguration tends to show the deterioration and deviation rather than the preservation of indicated object. From this point, transfiguration coming out from morphing using computer deteriorates and hides the reality and furthermore, it replaces the 'reality'. Moreover, transfiguration is closely approached to the world of fake or 'imaginary' simulation world of Baudrillard. According to Baudrillard, the image hides and deteriorates the reality, and furthermore, expresses 'not existing' to 'imaginary' under the name of transfiguration. Certain reality, that is, image which is absent from the reality is created and overflowed, so that it finally replaces the reality. This is simulation as it is said by Baudrillard. In turn, Georges Bataille discusses about the image which is produced by digital technology in terms of heterologie. Image of heterologie is the visual signal which is established with the media. Image of media is to have the continuous characteristics of produce, extinction, and transformation, and its clear boundary between images becomes meaningless. The meaning of composition, excess, violation, etc of digital image is explained to heterological study or heteologie suggested as important meaning of Georges Bataille who is a heretic philosopher. As the form and image of mutation shows the shape in accordance with mechanical production, heterologie is introduced as very low materialism (or bas materialisme), in this theory. Heterologie as low materialism which is gradually changing is developing as a different concept and analysis because of the change of time in the late 20s century beside high or low meaning. Including my image, all images non-standardizes and transforms the code. However, reappearance and non-standardization of this code does not seem to be simple. The problem of transformation caused by transfiguration which appears in my digital drawing painting, simulation, heterologie, etc, are the continual problems. Moreover, the subject such as existence of human being, distance from the real life, politics and social problems are being extended to actual research and various expressing work. Especially, individual image world is established by digital painting transfiguration technique, and its change and review start to have the durability. The consciousness of observers who look at the image is changing the subject. Together with theoretical research, researchers are to establish the first step to approach to various image change of digital era painting through transfiguration technique using our realistic and historical image.

  • 다시기 항공사진을 이용하여 소도읍 지역의 도시화에 따른 변화탐지를 시도하였다. 동일대상지역을 포함하는 축척 1/20,000과 1/37,500의 1987년, 1996년 및 2000년의 팬크로매틱 사진영상에 대한 기하보정을 통하여 좌표계와 축척을 일치시킨 다음, 영상대차법을 적용하여 도시화에 따른 시계열적 피복변화를 탐지하고 분석함으로써 단일밴드 영상에 의한 변화 검출의 효과를 확인한다. 또한 영상대차법에 의한 변화탐지에 있어서 최적의 임계값을 제시하였다.

실내공간의 이미지 전회비교 평가를 통한 공간유형별 지각특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on perceptive characteristics of space type through comparative evaluation on the image rotation of Interior Space)

  • For the user-centered interior space design, a designer needs to carefully focus on the details from which the user must keenly observe or concentrate on the space and how to deliberately check the image of the space. Following this view, for the user-centered interior space design this study analyzes the way which the space is represented from the perspective of the image assessment. The results obtained from this study are summarized as follows: First, this study analyzed the characteristic of space image change in the form of cross-comparison between one space and a rotated space. With analyzing of an eye fixation by showing the space, the space images of "concentration-dispersion" and "strengthening-weaken "have an important role in the analysis of the perception of space. it confirmed that the method of space perception was changed by rotated the space. Second, With changing quantities of image and extraction of deviation from adjective in survey, it quantitatively graps that respondents of feel in space perception by changing the space and "concentration" and 'dispersion" for process of space choice. The results of the research can provide important basis to judge the changing of space perception by visual perception. Third, through the analysis of image change rate and deviation rate, the characteristics of image change with space change can be analyzed. The results derived from the study provide the evidence to support the image change by space rotating.

  • Recording data in hundreds of narrow contiguous spectral intervals, hyperspectral images have provided the opportunity to detect small differences in material composition. But a limitation of a hyperspectral image is the signal to noise ratio (SNR) lower than that of a multispectral image. This paper presents the efficiency of Spectral Similarity Scale (SSS) in change detection of hyperspectral image and the experiment was performed with Hyperion data. SSS is an algorithm that objectively quantifies differences between reflectance spectra in both magnitude and direction dimensions. The thresholds for detecting the change area were determined through Expectation-Maximization (EM) algorithm. The experimental result shows that the SSS algorithm and EM algorithm are efficient enough to be applied to the unsupervised change detection of hyperspectral images.

  • We propose an image change detection algorithm implemented on sensor nodes of the ubiquitous sensor network(USN). The proposed algorithm was designed for the robust detection of image changes regardless of the continuously changing ambient illumination environment. Morphological lowpass filter was used for estimating the illumination component in order to reduce computational burden instead of the existing Gaussian lowpass filter. The decision of the change detection is based on the result of threshold of difference image between two consecutive images. We also propose a new thresholding method using precalculated histogram information. The proposed algorithm was implemented on the MSP430 16bit microprocessor.

평균변화율을 활용한 눈썹 메이크업 유형별 섹시미 감성이미지 차이 (Eyebrow Make-up Type Using an Average rate Sensitivity Image for the Difference of Perceived Sexiness)

  • Sexiness is the image of a person who attracts attention regardless of his/her age, and today's society has created a more positive impression by transforming the image into something others consider even more attractive. Consequently, we begin to take interest in makeup, - a means of portraying a good impression. Eyebrow makeup in particular, being at the center of the determining factor of a good facial image, can be thought of as the makeup that can most effectively transform one's image. The purpose of this study was to analyze the difference in perceived sexiness depending on the general perception of eyebrow makeup. This study produced an eyebrow stimulus that applied the average rate of change in an image transformation of different eyebrows in order to raise the objective credibility of the sensibility evaluation so it could determine the figure of influence that eyebrows had on facial impressions. The research results showed that the majority of female university students believed that eyebrows were an effective means of expression in changing facial images and attributed a higher mature and sexy image if the average ratio of change was higher. The study, could also identify that a sexy image was perceived when the average rate of change was between 0.39~0.44. In addition, when the gradient of the shape of the viewers' own eyebrows was low, it could be verified that they perceived an image to be sexy from seeing eyebrows with a relatively high gradient.
