Most of the sources of security and privacy issues in RFID technology arise from the violation of the air interface between a tag and its reader. This paper will approach the security risk analysis is process from the perspective of the RFID tag life cycle, identify the tag usage processes, identify the associated vulnerability and threat to the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the information assets and its implications for privacy, and then mitigate the risks.

In order to improve the operational reliability, it is necessary to validate the measured sensor data, isolate any failed sensor and recover the failed critical measurement. This paper describes the use of estimating equation to identify failed sensors and to recover the feedback signal for control purpose when the sensor measurement is determined to be erroneous Simulation results show that the proposed sensor validation scheme can adequately identify the failed sensor and provide reasonable estimates for control purposes.

RAIM techniques based on TLS have rarely been addressed because TLS requires a great number of computations. In this paper, the particular form of the observation matrix H, is exploited so as to develop a new TLS-based sequential algorithm to identify an errant satellite. The algorithm allows us to enjoy the advantages of TLS with less computational burden. The proposed algorithm is verified through a numerical simulation.

This paper proposes a modified fuzzy controller using a neural network. This controller can automatically identify expert's control rules and tune membership functions utilizing expert's control data. Identificaton capability of the fuzzy controller is examined using simple numerical data. The results show that the network in this paper can identify nonlinear systems more precisely than conventional fuzzy controller using neural network.

Unification of neural network with a hierarchical pattern recognition is presented for recognizing large set of objects. A two-step identification procedure is developed for pattern recognition: coarse and fine identification. The coarse identification is designed for finding a class of object while the fine identification procedure is to identify a specific object. During the training phase a course neural network is trained for clustering larger set of reference objects into a number of groups. For training a fine neural network, expert neural network is also trained to identify a specific object within a group. The presented idea can be interpreted as two step identification. Experimental results are given to verify the proposed methodology.

This study is a part of the project to identify water-quality degradation mechanism due to Fe and Mn in the river-bank infiltration system in the Changwon city, Kyungsangnam-Do. Results of hydrogeochemical logging indicated that the matrix of the river bank affects groundwater quality, probably related with the hydraulic conductivities of the different layers of bank deposits. Electric conductivity logging data clearly show various layers of groundwater flows. Further studies are necessary to identify mechanisms of increasing dissolved oxygen contents with depths at some monitoring wells.

When an appropriate model is fitted to explain a certain categorical data, outlying cell detection plays very important role to reduce the lack of fit. There exist many statistical methods to identify outlying cells in contingency table. In this paper, correspondence analysis is applied to identify one or two outlying cells. When corresponding relationships between categories of the row and columns are explored, we find that outlying cells could be identified via the correspondence analysis map.

A color image processing algorithm was developed to assist the robotic plug-seedling transplanter. The algorithm was designed to identify and locate empty cells in the seedling tray. The image of pepper seedling tray was segmented into regions of plant, frame and soil using thresholding technique which utilized HSI or RGB color characteristics of each region. The detection algorithm was able to successfully identify empty cells and locate their two-dimensional location. The overall success rate of the algorithm was about 88%.

To evaluate the fatigue lifetime of structures, it is necessary to identify the value of parameters through tests or literature. it is difficult for field engineers to get the necessary data through tests from the viewpoint of time and cost. In this study. we surveyed literature and proposed a procedure to identify the fatigue parameters for fatigue life evaluation by local strain approach.

In this study, the methods to identify the causes of electrical fires are suggested. Among several causes of electrocal fires, it is focused upon a short-circuit and an over-current accidents, which take the highest ratio compare with any other causes. To propose the exact method of identification, electric wires(HIV, IV), fuses and plug-receptacls are tested under the conditions of electrical accidents and external fires, respectively. By analyzing the microphotographs, the differences between the results from electrical fires and the others are found out.
