  • Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) thin films were prepared by RF magnetron sputtering with different flow rates of $O_2$ gas from 0 to 12 sccm. Electrical and optical properties of these films were characterized and analyzed. ITO deposited on soda lime glass and RF power was 2 kW, frequency was 13.56 MHz, and working pressure was $1.0{\times}10^{-3}$ Torr, Ar gas was fixed at 1,000 sccm. The transmittance was measured at 300~1,100 nm ranges by using Photovoltaic analysis system. Electrical properties were measured by Hall measurement system. ITO thin films surface were measured by Scanning electron microscope. Atomic force microscope surface roughness scan for ITO thin films. ITO thin films secondary electron emission coefficient(${\gamma}$) was measured by ${\gamma}$-Focused ion beam. The resistivity is about $2.4{\times}10^{-4}{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$ and the weighted average transmittance is about 84.93% at 3 sccm oxygen flow rate. Also, we investigated Work-function of ITO thin films by using Auger neutralization mechanism according to secondary electron emission coefficient(${\gamma}$) values. We confirmed secondary electron emission peak at 3 sccm oxygen flow rate.

  • ITO (indium tin oxide) thin films on PET (polyethylene terephthalate) substrate have been deposited by a dc reactive magnetron sputtering without heat treatments such as substrate heater and post heat treatment. Each sputtering parameter during the sputtering deposition is an important factor for the high quality of ITO thin films deposited on polymeric substrate. Particularly, the material, electrical and optical properties of as-deposited ITO oxide films are dominated by the ratio of oxygen partial pressure. As the experimental results, the excellent ITO films are prepared on PET substrate at the operating conditions as follows : operating pressure of 5 mTorr, target-substrate distance of 45mm, do power of 20~30W, and oxygen gas ratio of 10%. The optical transmittance is above 80% at 550 nm, and the sheet resistance and resistivity of films are 24 Ω/square and $1.5\times$10$^{-3}$ Ωcm, respectively.

  • Electrical, optical, surface, and structural properties of amorphous indium-zinc-oxide (a-IZO) grown by box cathode sputtering (BCS) were compared with crystalline indium-tin-oxide (c-ITO) anode films grown by conventional DC sputtering (DCS). Although x-ray diffraction plot of BCS-grown IZO film shows amorphous structure, the optical and electrical properties of a-IZO is comparable to those of c-ITO film. In particular, BCS-grown IZO films shows very smooth surface without defects such as pin hole and cracks because most of the energy of the sputtered atoms was confined in high density plasma region in box cathode gun. Furthermore polymer organic light emitting diodes (POLED) with the a-IZO anode film shows better electrical properties than that of POLED with the c-ITO anode film due to high work function and smooth surface of a-IZO. This suggested that BCS-grown a-IZO film is promising anode materials substituting conventional c-ITO anode in OLED and flexible displays.

  • Indium in oxide(ITO) films have been deposited on PET and glass substrates by DC reactive magnetron sputtering without post-deposition thermal treatment, The high quality for microstructure, electrical and optical properties of the as-deposited ITO films on unheated substrates is dominated by the sputtering parameters, The influence of the working gas pressure, DC power and oxygen partial pressure has been systematically investigated, The lowest DC power, and oxygen partial pressure has been systematically investigated, The lowest resistivity of ITO films deposited on PET substrates was 6$\times$10$^{-4}$ $\Omega$cm. It has been obtained at a working pressure of 3 mTorr and DC power of 30 W. The sheet resistance and optical transmittance of these film were 22 $\Omega$/square and 84% respectively. The best values of figures of merit for the electrical and optical characteristics such as T/ $R_{sh}$ and $T^{10}$ / $R_{sh}$ are approximately 38.1 and 7.95($\times$10$^{-3}$ $\Omega$$^{-1}$ ), respectively.
