36hrs Continuous Monitoring Methodology for Effluent and Receiving Water Quality (하천 수질에 대한 36시간 연속 모니터링 기법 연구)

  • The main point source of pollution of the Keumho river in Taegu, Korea, stems from waste from the areas of industrial complexes . Although it is widely accepted that pollutants in waste water negatively effects general water quality, it is difficult to evaluate the effluent effect because of varying conditions in ambient water and inconclusive knowledge of causative pollutants. To analyze the water in relation to the industrial effluent in the area, pH. temperature, conductivity, and Microtox toxicity of various river samples were measured. Water samples were collected every 2 hours for 36 hours from Keumho river and Dalseo stream. Data from continuous monitoring for 36 hours showed that effluent in Keumho river originated from Dalseo stream, which is near adjacent to industrial complexes. Change in toxicity and other factors tested during the 36 hours indicated that continuous monitoring was necessary for a satisfactory effluent toxicity test Furthermore, in addition to water quality monitoring, it was concluded that sediment toxicity also needed to evaluate effluent effects.

  • In these days, as it frequently happens that water level in the river exceeds the design floods due to irregular heavy rainfall, so it is required, first of an, to manage with railroad bridge safely. Because train control criterion under heavy rainfall is still not prepared and automatic flood monitoring system for railroad bridges is not used, worry over invisible economic loss due to train passage delay is in existence. Therefore, it is important to secure the safety and detect the risk like turnover or failure of railroad bridges through systematic disaster prevention system. And the transition from conventional monitoring method to real time monitoring method supported by sensors and communication system with high technology is rapidly needed. This research is on developing the real time flood monitoring system which prevents railroad disasters in advance by detecting continuously the water level of railroad bridge through CCD camera and water level gauge.

  • The study is used to verify the applicability of the sensor to monitor penetration of chloride into the concrete, like real coastal environment. After manufacturing the specimen adapt corrosion sensor for chloride penetration monitoring, chloride spray experiment was conducted. And then, It was checked the possibility of monitoring of the penetrated chloride by measuring the resistance of the corrosion sensor that was embedded in each depth of the concrete. Experimental results, it is confirmed that the corrosion resistance of the sensor was increased depending on the concentration of chloride. Therefore, it is estimated that the sensor is available for monitoring of chloride penetration.

  • In this paper, we deployed the tunnel inspection and monitoring system by wireless sensor network. It is shown that the wireless sensor network which is composed of sensor, wireless communication module, and gateway system can be applied to tunnel monitoring system. Sensors included herein are acceleration transducers, fire-alarm sensors, water-level sensors, and magnetic contact sensors. It is also found that the wireless sensor network can deliver sensing data reliably by ad-hoc networking technology. The gateway system that can send the sensing data to server by CDMA (code division multiple access) is developed. Finally, monitoring system is constructed by web service technology, and it is observed that this system can monitor the present state of tunnel without difficulties. Furthermore, the above system provides an alternative to inspect and monitor the tunnel efficiently where the conventional wired system cannot be applied.

  • Refining the monitoring and evaluation reporting is an important thing in e-Government. Indonesia which has had e-Government roadmap since 2000, has not had the systematic mechanism to monitor and evaluate e-Government in which the report can be easily accessed by the public and used to be the best practice to improve other e-Government implementation. Enterprise architecture (EA) has the major objective to straighten an enterprise to its necessary requirements. It can be used to propose the required system and that was the purpose of this paper. It was started by reviewing the literature about e-Government monitoring and evaluation, using quality of service as the means, and understanding TOGAF as one of EA framework. The second step was comparing EA and the evaluation of e-Government in Korea and Indonesia to get the best practices. And the last step was creating EA for the monitoring and evaluation reporting system based on Korea and the literature reviewed. It is expected that the formulized EA can be a tool to improve e-Government implementation in Indonesia.

Among these factors, the problem of the elderly living alone is emerging as the most serious, and as a realistic approach to solve some problems by applying information devices, it is a monitoring system using the Internet of Things(IoT). The need for an optimized system is emerging. In this study, the state of the elderly and the elderly living alone can be measured remotely by applying IoT technology.   • The applications of augmented reality technology is increasing in the several field by IT convergence and we find augmented reality application easily in the smart device application area. And then, to attempt to use augmented reality technology in advantage, exhibitions and performances was activated. However, it less than other fields of augmented reality technology expertise yet. Among them services to Use in fusion with monitoring are lacking. In this paper, we proposed the augmented reality monitoring technology based on smart device. It is able to incorporate QR-code which is already building for the purpose of advertising promotional materials with augmented reality technology in many areas. Therefore, it is able to utilize unattended building or automation equipment facilities using QR-code and environmental monitoring sensor in the industry.

The Impact of the Buyer Participation in CSR Activities on a Supply Chain

  • Purpose - This study aims to investigate whether the buyer's participation in CSR activities can affect the informal cooperation and relationship beyond formal cooperation and relationship. Research design, data, and methodology - We defined the research model and selected variables(monitoring and contracts by the buyer, formal cooperation & relationship, and informal cooperation & relationship). After completing the questionnaire, we analyzed 319 manufacturing companies. Prior to the hypothesis testing, Exploratory factor analysis(EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis(CFA) were conducted to check for discriminant validity and convergent validity. Results - The stronger the buyer monitoring on the company's CSR activities, the more positive it affects the formal business cooperation. On the other hand, strong buyer monitoring did not affect formal business relationships. Therefore, even if buyers' monitoring of CSR activities is strong, it does not mean that the formal business relationship is improved, but it means that it is possible to improve the formal business cooperation. Conclusions - This study shows that the stronger the buyer monitoring on the supplier's CSR activities, the more positive it affects formal cooperation. It also demonstrates that formal business cooperation between the supplier and the buyer, that is, sharing goals and works for CSR activities, has a positive effect on relationships based on emotional exchange and commitment.

  • As the development environment is changing with the development of information communication technology, the systems that were used by each service became used with integration. In the process of integrating from existing legacy systems to new system, it should be smoothly integrated or shared, however, it cannot help holding existing technology or component due to significant cost burden for conversion. In this paper, it was not only classified by types with analyzing the various elements that make up legacy system but an approach and monitoring system were developed to each type. After System application results, data's information generated in each process is provided to other system in real time, so that it has not only secured the work efficiency and reliability but also it is made possible by integrating data in various formats for efficient data management, rapid search and tracking to history. With real-time monitoring system developed in this study, It can be very useful in a variety of industries which require real-time monitoring of distributed legacy system data.

  • Periodic profiling by level is a conventional method for monitoring topographic changes in a specific part of tidal zone. Periodic aerial photographs are used for monitoring topographic change of broad tidal zone area. In this study, spot heights at interval of 50m on 5 profiling lines were leveled periodically for precise monitoring topographic change of tidal zone. For monitoring broad topographic change of tidal zone, aerial photographs were also taken by film camera loaded on pilotless helicopter periodically Periodic profiling shows the change of heights on the lines well. On the other hand, aerial photographs taken by film camera loaded on pilotless helicopter have some problems to detect topographic change of tidal zone precise. Because the scale and incline of the photographs were not same, it is hard to compare them. Therefore, for more precise monitoring of topographic changes in tidal zone, it is need to take aerial pictures with same scale and same incline.
