The research objective was to identify the effect of various instruction media on improving students' foodservice management competencies and for increasing class satisfaction. The research involved a comparison of two student groups. One group consisted of students who attended a lecture-based food purchasing class (Group A). The other group was students who attended the same class, and who also used various media as well as receiving the lecture (Group B). The results were as follows: 1) After a 16 week program, Group B perceived their procurement management competencies to be higher than those of Group A, especially in setting up purchasing goals, marketing research, and using computer systems for procurement; 2) In terms of class satisfaction, it was also observed that Group B was more satisfied with food purchasing class than was Group A. Group B gave high scores, especially in effective utilization of media, increasing motivation, and understanding; 3) Group B perceived that various instruction media was helpful for developing their procurement management competencies. Respondents evaluated the usefulness of media in the following order: using Power Point watching videos, visiting web-sites for food purchasing class, and surfing the World Wide Web. The results of the research show that using various instruction media for food purchasing classes would improve students' foodservice management competencies. Therefore, instructors who teach foodservice management related courses should consider developing teaching strategies that apply various instruction media for students to enhance their foodservice management competencies and to increase class satisfaction.
RI-Biomics technology is advanced convergence technologies that can be measured in real time and track in vivo behavior and metabolism of substances using characteristics of the radioactive isotope. Its application fields are increasing such as drug development, agriculture, development of new materials and their utilization, etc. In addition, according to domestic and international developments and changes in the RI-Biomics environment, RI-Biomics professionals are needed to train continuously. Purpose: This study aimed to identify the needs for the managerial competencies of nurse managers in general hospitals. Methods: A cross-sectional design was used. The participants were 203 nurse managers, 141 head nurses or unit managers, and 62 directors or team managers from 17 general hospitals. Data were collected by a self-administered questionnaire with 42 nursing management competencies and 181 behavioral indicators. Participants rated the importance and performance of each indicator. Data were analyzed using a paired t-test, independent t-test, importance-performance analysis, Borich's needs assessment model, and locus for focus model. Results: In all 42 competencies, importance was rated significantly higher than performance. The head nurses or unit managers had high demands for "human resource development," "performance management," and "information management," while the directors or team managers had high demands for "change management." Competencies in high demand in both groups were "development of nursing standards" and "self-management." Conclusion: Based on the results, it is necessary to select priorities and prepare educational content when developing educational programs to strengthen the nursing management competencies of general hospitals' nurse managers.
These days, firms are focusing on the improvement of relationships with business partners. The supply chain integrations are taking critical role in improving the relationships with business partners. In accordance with the development of the IT technology, it became possible for firms not only to integrate inner parts of the organization, but also to integrate the company with other organizations in the supply chain. Therefore, in e-Biz environments, it is imperative for firms to strengthen the core capacity through the supply chain, and to precisely determine the components of the determinants of e-Business integration which impact the firm performance. This study analyzed determinants that have impacts on e-business integration in e-business capacity perspectives in competitive environments. This study based on the premise that the resources and capacities that Grant(1991) and Hart(1995) emphasized do not directly influence the corporate performance. This study focused on the fact that corporate must create core competencies based on these capacities to establish competitive edge. Therefore, this study model analyzed to find out which e-Biz competencies are needed to integrate e-Biz according to competitive environment elements. This study designed to empirically analyze the impact of the e-Biz competencies to the e-Biz integration and to the corporate performance. Independent variables of this study-IT management, partner management, e-Biz knowledge, e-Biz establishment and proliferation, process innovation-are selected based on precedent studies on e-Biz competencies. We selected intermediate variables to verify that e-Biz competencies do not have direct impact on the corporate performance, but have impact on the e-Biz integration, which is intermediate effect. That is to verify that if the components of supply chain improve the integration level using e-Biz competencies, the overall supply chain performances will improve. Dependent variables are selected to verify that e-Biz integration has impacts on corporate performances. This study used factor analysis, path analysis, moderating effect analysis as statistical tests. First, we used exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis to analyze reliability and validity. Because e-Biz competencies are presented variously by preceding studies, we used SPSS16.0 to verify if survey questionnaire used by theoretical backgrounds is properly composed. Second, we tested the property of structure model by AMOS. We did path analysis using AMOS16.0 to test structure that is composed of e-Biz competencies and e-Biz integration. Last, we tested moderating effects of measure factors. We analyzed 163 domestic companies to find out many significant suggestive points. First, relationship improvement capacity, e-business knowledge sharing capacity with business partners, and process innovation capacity are adopted as determinants of differentiation and competitive edges against competing firms. Second, e-business knowledge sharing capacity, and process innovation capacity are analyzed as the determinants of e-business integration in the firm which demand fluctuation in the market is high. On the other hand, among the determinants that require capturing ideas on new products, and strengthening the technological power, process innovation capacity are adopted as the determinants. These results provide us the foundation that the determinants that we have analyzed can impact the supply chain integration strategies which take into account the competitive environments.

The aim of this study is to determine whether the 65 competencies, defined in "the role of Korean doctor, 2014", are suitable for basic medical education phase in Korea. It seeks to analyze the gap among the educational reality and expectation, assessment situation of the competencies above. We also try to define issues of the development, application and assessment phases of competency-based medical education (CBME) at individual medical schools. We designed survey tools based on the Miller's assessment pyramid (knowledge, explanation, demonstration, and performance) for each of the 65 competencies. The survey distributed to 41 medical schools in April 2015 and 38 replies were received (92.7%). Competencies that matched both the educational reality and expectation were numbers 1 (patient care), 33 (social accountability), and 49 (professionalism). However, all the other competencies ranked lower in current status than that of desirable level. 54 out of 65 competencies (83.07%) remained at the knowledge and explanation level when each competence were assessed. In the development, application, and assessment phases of CBME, common issues that medical schools commonly noted were difficulty linking competencies to curriculum preparation and student assessment, the lack of faculty's understanding, difficulty to reach consensus among faculties, and absence of teaching and learning methods and assessment tools that fits CBME. For the successful settle down of CBME, there is a need for efforts to develop the model of graduate outcomes, to share information and experience, and to operate faculty development program by the medical education communities.
