However, it is the reality that the plans and studies for this are seriously lacking until now. The objective of this study is to propose a programming education utilizing robots as a plan to overcome limitations of existing programming education, find the problems through developing and applying education program for general elementary school students. As a result of experimental application of the developed program, since the gap of academic accomplishment for the robot programming is large for each student, it is necessary to develop education program to enable individual studies of each level and operate program with the focus on programming education rather than the robot. Moreover, it is pointed that the difficult and unnecessary elements in the robot programming course must be improved or reduced, it is better to exercise it on the grade 6 program for concentration on the programming education, and there should be improvement on equipment, environment for robot programming.

  • In Confucianism, education is also meaningful in teaching and changing, but the meaning of education in Chapter 1 of "Jungyong" is very concise and implicit. In Chapter 1 of "Jungyong", "Cheonmyeong(天命)" is called "Sung(性)", and it is called "Do(道)" to follow "Sung", and it is called "Gyo(敎)" to cultivate this "Do". In short, it is education(Gyo) that is practiced to follow the "Mandate of Heaven(Cheonmyeong)". Therefore, the meaning of education in Chapter 1 of "Jungyong" is in line with "Su(修)". Here, the meaning of education does not mean knowledge transfer or teaching scriptures such as the so-called "Cheonja" or "Analects". It means enlightening and cultivating the principles of the world. Discipline is self-change. The inner expansion of an education is to be cultivated, and the teaching of cultivation to others is to be an education. As such, at least in Chapter 1 of "Jungyong", discipline and education are synonymous. If one goes to oneself, it becomes a discipline, and if one goes to others, it becomes an education. The reason why this is important is that we can reconsider the true meaning of education. The universal definition of education today is the transfer of knowledge or skills. However, in "Jungyong", it was said that education is to help others cultivate them. It is not important to convey knowledge or skills, but to help them realize their own "Mandate of Heaven(Cheonmyeong)" so that anyone can wake up and live happily.

  • The purpose of this paper is to recommend the Ministry of Defense(MOD) for revolutionizing the current defense education system. As an instructor and an education planning officer of the ROK Army College, for last dozen months, the author has been embarrassed whenever tried to figure out what would be the role, functions, and educational goals of the college. In a nutshell, there has not been any general guidance for educating field grade officers. This unbelievable defect mainly comes from the absence of a responsible organization in the MOD. Even though it has the education branch under the department of personnel affairs, it doesn't have capabilities to design and implement the consistent and valuable education policy. Therefore, the development of defense education should begin with reinforcing the organization and functions of the MOD education branch. We need more experts on education( i.e. Ph.Ds of Education) and experienced specialties on defense education so that we could develop the overall guidance for military professional education. In addition, we need to enact the "defense or military education act" in a tentative name. This will ensure the legitimacy and continuity of defense education guidance initiated by the MOD. In a conclusion, it is senseless to think the blueprint for the Army College out until the preconditions mentioned above are matured. We must begin with rectifying the higher educational system.
