Developing new technologies and launching new products require a huge sum of money for Research and Development, and there is also market uncertainty. Comparing to advanced countries' companies, Korea's exporting companies have less investment cost in size for R&D and insufficient technology assets accumulated. Therefore, through the open innovation, they should use external technology and enhance the efficiency of the relatively little R&D investment. This paper draws the factors influencing the innovations of Korea's exporting companies, and then it analyses how each innovation influences export performance. First, innovations are devided into two; closed and open innovation. Multiple regression analysis has been done, considering influence factors of innovation such as company's characteristics factors, research's characteristics factors and products characteristics factors to be independent variables, and export performance to be a dependent variable. It shows that firm size and new products launching period have positive effects on each innovation, but research capability and research performance have positive effects only on closed innovation. And open innovation has positive effects on export performance, but closed innovation doesn't have.

The service industry has become very important for almost every country. The same goes for Korea, as its service industry accounts for more than 60 percent of GDP. However, it is true that the competitiveness of Korea's service industry is very low compared to that of major developed countries. It is particularly true for knowledge-intensive service sectors. In this reason, Korea needs to strengthen the competitiveness of domestic service sectors. There have been many studies on service innovation models. 1his paper tries to explore how to enhance the competitiveness of Korean service industry. It argues that the science and technology will play an essential role in strengthening the competitiveness of many service sectors and technology and innovation management will be very important also for them. Therefore, based on the review on existinf models, this paper suggests a "Model of Strategic Services Innovation Management" which is composed of strategic intent, technological innovation, and organizational innovation. Based on this model this paper analyzes two cases: Wal-Mart and Incheon International Airport Co. According to our analyzes, both companies have enhanced their competitiveness significantly based on technological and organizational innovations, which have been initiated at corporate leveL Therefore, the Korean service industry should actively adopt the Strategic Services Innovation Management Model in order to enhance its competitiveness and productivity.

In order to find the factors that influence behaviors for innovative work performance, this study tried to examine the relationship between organizational justice perceived by SME employees and IT support for differentiation on innovative behavior through knowledge exploitation and exploration. A survey was conducted on employees of SME, and the research hypothesis was verified using SPSS 22.0 and PLS 3.0 by analyzing the final 239 copies. As a result of the study, organizational justice and IT support showed a positive effect on knowledge exploitation and exploration, and knowledge exploitation and exploration had a positive effect on innovation behavior. Through this study, the theoretical foundation for organizational justice to influence knowledge exploitation and main search was established and the theoretical and practical implications for enhancing the competitiveness of the enterprise were presented through a comprehensive analysis of the two variables, organizational justice and IT support, which affect the innovation behavior of SMEs. Future research will require to study the performance part due to innovative behavior using various variables.

Recently, it is difficult for a firm to survive and maintain sustainable competitive advantage through internal R&D only, because changes in the environment are very fast and complex. Accordingly, the paradigm of open innovation is gradually emphasized, and the ratio of external R&D has been increasing in various industries. This study analyzed open innovation through Korean Innovation Survey (KIS) data from Science and Technology Policy Institute (STEPI). We confirmed the ratio of open innovation based on firms of the manufacturing industry in South Korea, and examined the relationship between open innovation and innovation performance. This study suggests that open innovation is not a new paradigm that did not exist in the past. While the use of government support programs positively influence innovation performance, the use of external R&D doesn't influence innovation performance due to the difficulties associated with managing it. The results of this study will be used to establish the strategic direction and support the decision making when firms conduct innovation activities in the future.

The Innovation Procurement Policy was introduced as part of the strategic public procurement policy to improve firms' innovation capabilities and enhance the public sector's ability to solve social problems by designating and purchasing so-called 'innovative products.' The pilot procurement project for innovative products was first introduced in 2019, and the policy system for designating and discovering innovative products by government departments, as well as the priority purchase system, was established in 2020. Hence, this study conducted a quantitative analysis focusing on the effectiveness of the innovation procurement system in supporting firms after it was fully implemented. For this purpose, corporate financial and employment data from 2017 to 2021 were used, and propensity score matching(PSM) and difference-in-difference(DID) methods were utilized as analytical tools. The study found that the innovation procurement system contributed to corporate growth and employment and created additional public and private sales channels. Moreover, it is necessary to enhance the innovation procurement system, such as matching innovative product-producing companies with existing SME support policies, for companies to become self-sustaining after the innovative product designation ends.

Keeping the balance between exploration of new possibilities and exploitation of existing certainties in organizational innovation is getting its significance as business environments become more turbulent This paper focused on the relationship between two different types of innovation and network configuration. For this purpose, we conducted the empirical studies of 168 IT SMEs located in Gyeongbuk. For this analysis, we defined two innovation types as exploratory innovation and exploitative innovation. Also, we considered network scope and strength of tie as network configuration. The results showed that the exploratory innovation had sparse network of network scope and weak tie of strength. On the contrary the exploitative innovation had dense network and strong tie.

Although it was very long since companies and organizations have been interested in technological innovation or management innovation and many of them have been investing on innovation in convergence industry environment, they could not take differentiated competency and competitive advantage so that they were fallen behind from market by new trends. This research is aiming at deduction of strategies for corporations to keep continuously differentiated competitiveness and competitive advantage. It suggested open innovation activities as basic independent variables. It added global technological alliance known for Open Innovation Alliances to independent variables too. It suggested platform leadership emerging between open innovation activities and digital ecosystem and 6 encroachment types from disruptive innovation theory as control variables. It suggested dynamic competitive advantage as dependent variable for explaining dynamic properties of environment. It analyzed case from 11 researches of open innovation activities, categorized them and verified the appropriacy of the variables. This research contributes to new direction for derivation of strategies and methodologies by which corporations keep competitive advantage in dynamic convergence environment.

Today, innovation is driven by the challenge of existing paradigms and by cooperating with many other fields as well as their own, and thus the importance of open innovation is emphasized. This study analyzed the effect of open innovation on innovation activities and examined the role of organizational innovation in various innovation activities. For the analysis, Korean Innovation Survey (KIS) data from Science and Technology Policy Institute (STEPI) in 2016 was used. A total of 1,453 manufacturing firms were selected as a sample and logistic regression was performed. As a result, R&D cooperation has a positive effect on product innovation as the most representative means to acquire new knowledge and technology, while R&D cooperation has no relation with process innovation. In the case of organizational innovation, it strengthens positive effects of R&D cooperation on both product innovation and process innovation. Organizational change can be explained to play a positive role in new innovation activities, and then firms will need to consider organizational innovation in relation to R&D cooperation. This study is meaningful in that it analyzes the causal relationship and role in relation to various types of innovation, and will contribute to the firms to smoothly perform innovation activities in the future.

The importance of technological innovation orientation, which denotes the firm's general direction of thought toward steadily pursuing and promoting technological innovation in the long run for its viability and competitiveness, is on the rise. Although the technological innovation orientation has conceptually and practically important implications for securing the firm's sustainable competitive advantage, to date there has been limited research systematically analyzing the role of the technological innovation orientation for the firm's successful technological innovation and performance. Recognizing such deficiency in previous research regarding technological innovation orientation, this study selected internal and external critical factors which might affect the technological innovation orientation, and proposed and empirically examined a research model and hypotheses demonstrating the contingency relationships among the antecedent factors, technological innovation orientation and technological innovation performance. In the proposed research model, the selected antecedents of technological innovation orientation included two internal factors of CEO's technical-function experience and cross-functional integration and two external factors of environmental uncertainty and intensity of competition, and eventually it was suggested that these antecedent factors affected the firm's technological innovation performance via the technological innovation orientation. In addition, the research model suggested that the two environmental factors of environmental uncertainty and intensity of competition had a positive moderation effect on the relationship between technological innovation orientation and technological innovation performance. Analysis of data on sample of 86 Korean IT SMEs showed that CEO's technical-function experience, cross-functional integration and environmental uncertainty had a positive impact on the firm's technological innovation orientation and that the technological innovation orientation positively influenced the firm's technological innovation performance. The results also revealed that environmental uncertainty positively moderated the relationship between the firm's technological innovation orientation and technological innovation performance. The theoretical and practical implications for the results of this study were discussed.
