  • 최근 USN(Ubiquitous Sensor Network) 기반 기술과 사회 전반에 걸친 USN 응용 기술의 발전이 가속화되고 있다. 이러한 USN 응용은 USN 자원에 대한 정보를 필요로 하며, USN 미들웨어는 USN 응용의 용이한 개발을 위해 USN 자원 정보를 제공하는 디렉토리 서비스를 핵심 요소에 포함하고 있다. USN 응용 지원을 위한 디렉토리 서비스는 광역적으로 분산된 컴퓨팅 환경에서 원하는 USN 자원 정보 즉 메타데이타를 효율적으로 관리하고 검색할 수 있는 기능이 요구 된다. 본 논문은 광역 분산 환경에서 USN 자원의 메타데이타를 효율적으로 검색할 수 있는 디렉토리 서비스의 위치탐색 모델을 논하고, USN 자원의 분포와 위치탐색 요청의 지역범위 별 빈도를 고려한 시뮬레이션 실험 결과를 제시한다.

Issues on Infotainment Application in Vehicular NDN (VNDN 환경하에서 인포테인먼트 응용 이슈)

  • Recently, many studies on VNDN technology have been conducted to graft Named Data Networking (NDN) into VANET as a core network technology. VNDN can use the content name to deliver various infotainment application content data through name-based forwarding. When VNDN is used as a communication technology for infotainment applications in connected vehicles, it is possible to realize data-centric networking technology in which data is the subject of communication. It can overcome the limitations of connected vehicle infotainment application service technology based on the host-centric current Internet, such as security attack/hacking, performance degradation in long-distance data transmission, frequent data cut-off. In this paper, we present the main functions provided by VNDN technology, and systematically analyze and organize the issues necessary to realize infotainment application services for connected vehicles in the VNDN environment. Based on this, it can be utilized as basic information necessary to establish infotainment application requirements in VNDN environment.

A Study on the Characteristics of IT Innovations (정보기술 혁신 특성에 관한 연구)

  • Research on innovation has a long tradition from various disciplines. MIS research has also been interested in the innovation adoption because IS development and implementation can be regarded as an innovation process. To deal with IT innovations, MIS research adopted existing innovation(diffusion) theories which have been developed on general innovation phenomena. However, the MIS innovation research revealed that there exist some limitations in applying the innovation theories to IT innovations and proposed that research on IT innovations should reflect the unique characteristics of IT. The purpose of this study is twofold; first, to synthesize the past research and propose the uniqueness of IT innovations and second, to survey the Perceptions of managers on If innovations. Three unique characteristics of IT innovations are derived from the past research which are (1) knowledge barriers, (2) increasing returns, (3) organizational decision. Data collected from 68 Korean managers showed that the perceptions of managers support the uniqueness of IT innovations. Some recommendations to facilitate IT innovations are discussed and further research directions are suggested.

  • Recently, RFID technology play a key role to implement ubiquitous sensor network(USN). In this paper, we introduce trends of RFID technology, standardization, and then its applications. The purpose of this work is to suggest prosperous applications of RFID, which is applicable on marine information system, such as ship inventory management, management of container and its contents, sensing of environments within cargo hold, management of fishery boats. In case that RFID technology is utilized on marine information systems, it makes safety at sea and marine environments protection.

  • 21세기를 선도할 기술로 전 세계적으로 각광을 받고 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있는 분야는 나노기술(W), 생명공학기술(BT), 정보통신기술(IT)이라고 할수 있다. 우리나라에서도 최근 이에 대한 연구 및 교육 지원 프로그램을 세워 법정부적으로 지원을 하고 있다. 특히 나노기술은 다른 분야와의 기술융합이 가장 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 이러한 분야들은 우리나라와 같이 부존자원이 매우 적은 나라로써는 세계열강과 경쟁하기 위한 새로운 돌파구로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. 본 고에서는 신기술 분야 중에서 나노기술과 생명공학기술의 접목분야로써 자성 나노입자의 생의학적 응용(biomedical applications)에 대하여 알아보고자 한다.
