  • The cobalt (Co(II)) ion is a main component of alloys and considered to be carcinogenic, especially due to the carcinogenic and toxicological effects in the aquatic environment. The toxic trace of the Co(II) detection was conducted using the infrared photodiode electrode (IPDE) using a working electrode, via the cyclic and square-wave anodic stripping voltammetry. The results indicated a sensitive oxidation peak current of Co(II) on the IPDE. Under the optimal conditions, the common-type glassy carbon, the metal platinum, the carbon paste, and the carbon fiber microelectrode were compared with the IPDE in the electrolyte using the standard Co(II). The IPDE was found to be far superior to the others.

  • This research analyzes the design work and construction work, which might be arising out of or during the procurement process of naval ships of the Korean Navy. This research also suggests the applicable information methodology driven out by utilizing PLM/POM tool, which could be one of practical solutions to the problems arising from the outcome of this analysis. As to the procedure and methodology of information technology of design and construction work of the ship, IPPD was adopted. Before its actual application, main contents of the IPPD were introduced in this research. And it's real application and subsequent concrete surroundings of IPDE were defined. In addition, addition, several detailed and necessary works to be fulfilled were defined, mainly focused on the application of IPDD for the design and construction stages of the ships suitable for the Korean Navy, And also, this analysis defines the main functions to be secured by adopting the PLM/POM tool and obtained the relevant functions partially herewith.

  • Considering the domestic traffic environment and the increase of traffic accidents, we have been asked to exactly analyze the main causes of accidents for the accident-experienced drivers to be rehabilitated. In this thesis we present the development process and results of a driving simulator using the IPDE method in the interest of safe driving and driving rehabilitation. Through this Driving simulation development the rehabilitated driver has the possibility of experiencing the real driving situation with the driving aptitude and examines the reasons of accidents. Through the examinations the driver has the chance to correct the deformities of driving by choosing the explanatory scenes, and through this process the driver is able to develop the capability to react in the real situation. However this driving simulation system is one of the best developed, depending on weather and road condition the braking distance may change. Therefore the fuzzy rule and neural network have been used in this thesis to solve previously mentioned problem. The simulation exactly calculated the road and weather conditions to adjust the breaking intensity.

  • We measured changes in sonographic findings of patients with clonorchiasis after a treatment in a highly endemic area. A total of 347 residents showed positive stool results for Clonorchis sinensis eggs in a village in northeastern China, and were treated with praziquantel. Of them, 132 patients underwent abdominal sonography both before and 1 year after treatment, and the changes in sonographic findings of 83 cured subjects were compared. Diffuse dilatation of intrahepatic bile ducts (DDIHD) was found in 82 patients (98.2%) before and 80 (96.4%) after treatment, which was improved in 3, aggravated in 1, and unchanged in 79 patients. Increased periductal echogenicity (IPDE) as observed in 42 patients (50.6%) before and 45 (54.2%) after treatment, which was improved in 5, aggravated in 8, and unchanged in 70 patients. Floating echogenic foci in the gallbladder (FEFGB) was detected in 32 patients (38.6%) before and 17 (20.5%) after treatment, which was improved in 20, aggravated in 5, and unchanged in 58 patients. Improvement of FEFGB only was statistically significantly (P = 0.004). The present results confirm that DDIHD and IPDE persist but FEFGB decreases significantly at 1 year after treatment. In a heavy endemic area, the sonographic finding of FEFGB may suggest active clonorchiasis 1 year after treatment.

  • To improve the naval ship acquisition process, systems engineering, modeling and simulation, etc. have been introduced, and there has been ongoing research on acquisition systems for effective support of it. However, due to characteristics of the naval ship acquisition process, development process mainly carried out at a shipyard such as basic design, detailed design, construction and test is difficult to integrate with the acquisition systems of IPT(Integrated Project Team). In addition, research aimed to improve this is rather lacking. In this paper, the naval ship product structure concept proposed in previous research was applied to the basic design system at shipyard, and basic research for expanding the coverage of naval ship acquisition systems to the basic design phase is performed. A data structure of modeling system appropriate to the basic design phase was proposed through research findings and the prototype system based on it was implemented.

  • To detect lead ions using electrochemical voltammetric analysis, Infrared Photo-Diode Electrode(IPDE) was applied via cyclic and square wave stripping voltammetry. Lead ions were deposited at 0.5 V(versus Ag/AgCl) accumulation potential. Instrumental measurements systems were made based on a simple and compact detection system. The stripping voltammetric and cyclic voltammetric optimal parameters were searched. The results yielded a cyclic range of $40{\sim}240mgl^{-1}$ Pb(II) and a square wave stripping working range of $0.5{\sim}5.00mgl^{-1}$ Pb(II). The relative standard deviation at 2 and 4 $mgl^{-1}$ Pb(II) was 0.04% and 0.02%(n=15), respectively, using the stripping voltammetric conditions. The detection limit was found to be 0.05 $mgl^{-1}$ with a 40 sec preconcentration time. Analytical interference ions were also evaluated. The proposed method was applied to determine lead ions in various samples.

  • A simple electric circuit of an infrared photodiode electrode (IPDE) was utilized to monitor iron using square-wave (SW) anodic stripping voltammetry (SV) and cyclic voltammetry (CV). The optimum analytical conditions were determined and were compared with those of common working electrodes. The comparison showed that CV is more sensitive and convenient to use than the common voltammetry methods. At the optimized conditions, the working ranges of 0.1- to 0.8- and 0.85- to 6.0 mg/L iron was obtained. Relative standard deviation of 15 measurements of iron (0.4 mg/L) was 0.09%. The analytical detection limit was found to be $80{\pm}0.6ug/L$, which was applied to iron in waste water.
