Nuclear Medicine Images have comparatively poor spatial resolution, making it difficult to relate the functional information which they contain to precise anatomical structures. Anatomical structures useful in the interpretation of SPECT /PET Images were radiolabelled. PET/SPECT Images Provide functional information, whereas MRI mainly demonstrate morphology and anatomical. Fusion or Image Registration improves the information obtained by correlating images from various modalities. Brain Scan were studied on one or more occations using MRI and SPECT. The data were aligned using a point pair methods and surface matching. SPECT and MR Images was tested using a three dimensional water fillable Hoffman Brain Phantom with small marker and PET and MR Image was tested using a patient data. Registration of SPECT and MR Images is feasible and allows more accurate anatomic assessment of sites of abnormal uptake in radiolabeled studies. Point based registration was accurate and easily implemented three dimensional registration of multimodality data set for fusion of clinical anatomic and functional imaging modalities. Accuracy of a surface matching algorithm and homologous feature pair matching for three dimensional image registration of Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT), Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and Magnetic Resonance Images(MRD was tested using a three dimensional water fill able brain phantom and Patients data. Transformation parameter for translation and scaling were determined by homologous feature point pair to match each SPECT and PET scan with MR images.

The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the effects of several implant surface treatments to the bone formation, by placing Machined implants, 75${\mu}m$ Calcium phosphate-blasted implants and $Al_2O_3$-blasted and acid-etched implants in rabbit tibia through histomorphometric study. Two animals of each group were sacrificed at 2, 4, 8 weeks. The specimens containing the implants were dehydrated and embedded into hard methylmethacrylate plastic. Thereafter, the sections were ground to 50${\mu}m$. The specimens were stained with Villanueva bone stain for a light microscopic study. The results were as follows; 1. When the surface roughness of three different implants was measured by Surfcorder, the Ra of the Machined group, the RBM group and the SLA group was 0.16${\mu}m$, 0.44${\mu}m$, and 1.08${\mu}m$. 2. When examining the surfaces of the implants in the scanning microscope, Machined implant has the smooth surface with a few scratches, RBM implant has the rough surface with curled ridges and valleys, and SLA implant has the rough surface structures such as sharp protruding parts and micropits measuring 1-2${\mu}m$ in diameter. 3. After 2 weeks of implantation, the percentage of bone-to-implant contact of the Machined group, the RBM group and the SLA group was 26.86%, 35.40% and 45.99%. However, its differences between each group decreased during the healing periods. 4. After 2 weeks of implantation, the percentage of bone area inside the threads of the Machined group, the RBM group and the SLA group were 21.55%, 30.43% and 41.18%. However, its difference of bone area between machined group and surface treatment groups was maintained but the difference within the surface treatment groups decreased during the healing periods. In summary, the amount of bone formation in RBM and SLA group was greater than Machined group in early healing stage. These results suggest that RBM and SLA implants can reduce the healing period for osseointegration and may be suitable for early function.
Purpose: With the significance of stable adhesion of alveolar bone and peri-implant soft tissue on the surface of titanium for successful dental implantation procedure, the purpose of this study was to apply microgrooves on the titanium surface and investigate their effects on peri-implant cells and tissues. Methods: Three types of commercially pure titanium discs were prepared; machined-surface discs (A), sandblasted, large-grit, acid-etched (SLA)-treated discs (B), SLA and microgroove-formed discs (C). After surface topography of the discs was examined by confocal laser scanning electron microscopy, water contact angle and surface energy were measured. Human gingival fibroblasts (hGFs) and murine osteoblastic cells (MC3T3-E1) were seeded onto the titanium discs for immunofluorescence assay of adhesion proteins. Commercially pure titanium implants with microgrooves on the coronal microthreads design were inserted into the edentulous mandible of beagle dogs. After 2 weeks and 6 weeks of implant insertion, the animal subjects were euthanized to confirm peri-implant tissue healing pattern in histologic specimens. Results: Group C presented the lowest water contact angle ($62.89{\pm}5.66{\theta}$), highest surface energy ($45{\pm}1.2mN/m$), and highest surface roughness ($Ra=22.351{\pm}2.766{\mu}m$). The expression of adhesion molecules of hGFs and MC3T30E1 cells was prominent in group C. Titanium implants with microgrooves on the coronal portion showed firm adhesion to peri-implant soft tissue. Conclusions: Microgrooves on the titanium surface promoted the adhesion of gingival fibroblasts and osteoblastic cells, as well as favorable peri-implant soft tissue sealing.
Hundreds of medicinal herbs have been using for the purpose of diseases treatment and immune enhancement for human being and other animals including fishes. Among them, 49 species of medicinal herbs were selected and tested for antibacterial activities against 19 strains of fish pathogenic bacteria in different 4 species. The 49 medicinal herbs were extracted by water and ethyl alcohol. The extracts were freeze dried and some paper discs from the extracts were prepared for the evaluation of antibacterial activity. The tested pathogenic bacteria were 5 strains of Edwardsiella tarda, 5 strains of Vibrio sp., 4 strains of Lactococcus garvieae, 1 strain of Lactococcus raffinose, 1 strain of Streptococcus parauberius, and 3 strains of Streptococcus iniae. The Galla rhois (Obaeja), Gaeonnamu and Hwangleyon showed antibacterial activities on both gram negative and gram positive fish pathogenic bacteria. The Youkgae, Sangbaekpi, Bogolji and Gamcho showed very effective antibacterial activities on gram positive pathogens while Jiyu, Aeyoeb and Yeonkyo showed very effective on gram negative pathogens.
Quality of commercial salted and fermented fish sauce was evaluated through physicochemical and sensory analyses. Moisture contents of all samples tested except one salted and fermented sandlance sauce were acceptable. Salinity of some samples was higher than that of Korean food standard. Higher contents of total nitrogen (TN) and amino nitrogen (AN) resulted in higher levels of specific gravity, pure extract and solid of some samples. Two salted and fermented anchovy and three salted and fermented sandlance sauce samples showed lower levels of TN and AN than those of Korean food standards. TN, AN, specific gravity, pure extract, solid, and volatile basic nitrogen levels highly correlated with sensory scores, indicating that these values could be used as quality parameters to evaluate salted and fermented fish sauce quality.
Purpose: In this study, the effect of the eye movement direction on visual function related to accommodation was investigated when playing computer games for a certain period of time. Methods: Total 60 subjects in 20s who had the visual acuity of 1.0 or higher without any ocular disease and accommodative dysfunction were asked to play computer games separately in horizontal and vertical directions for 40 and 90 minutes and then measured their accommodative amplitude, accommodative facility, accommodative lag and relative accommodations. Thevisual function when not doing the computer game was regarded as a control value, and further compared and analyzed. Results: The accommodative amplitude, accommodative facility, accommodative lag and relative accommodations showed the tendency of decrease after the computer game for 40 minutes, and more reduced values of the visual functions were shown when the computer game extended up to 90 minutes except positive relative accommodation. Positive relative accommodation had a tendency to increase slightly after the computer game for 90 minutes. Meanwhile, the change of the visual functions was primarily influenced by the eye movement in horizontal direction rather than by the eye movement in vertical direction during computer game when analyzed by the direction of eye movement. Conclusions: Over all accommodative functions tended to decrease with the extended VDT working time by computer game, and the frequent eye movement in horizontal direction during VDT tasks could be the main cause of eyestrain since the eye movement in horizontal direction rather than vertical direction significantly affected the change of accommodative function.

Objectives: To introduce a protocol of Mobi-kids study which was aimed to examine an association between radiofrequency (RF) radiation exposure by mobile phone use and brain tumor risk in children and adolescents. Methods: The Mobi-kids study was a multinational matched case control study using a standardized protocol with the number of subjects targeted about 1,000 cases and 2,000 controls aged 10 to 24. In Mobi-Kids Korea, the source population was restricted to Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi-do province. Eligible cases of primary brain tumor (glioma, meningioma, and others) were diagnosed from January 2012 to June 2015. Eligible controls were appendicitis patients operated during the study period. Two controls were matched on age, gender, and study region for 1 case. Information about pattern and history of mobile phone use and other covariates were obtained by face to face interview by trained interviewer. The Mobi-kids study has been involved in Mobi-expo as a validation study about mobile phone use, XGridmaster to localize tumor in the brain for RF energy calculation, and histological review for validation of diagnosis. Results: The Mobi-kids was the first and largest study in children and adolescents to estimate risk of brain tumor in association with the RF energy absorption in the brain estimated by mobile phone use. Forty-six-cases and 54 controls were collected as of September 2014 in Korea. Conclusions: The meaningful results of the study were expected because of the largest sample size, high validity of EMF exposure assessment as well as the susceptible study populationof children and adolescents.
Colostrum provide a complete diet for the newborn calves. In ruminants, colostrum is also the sole source of initial acquired immunity for the offspring. Colostrum, therefore, plays an important role in ruminants host defense. Bovine colostrum imparts passive immunity to newborn calves during the first 24h of life and generally has been fed for the first 3 days after birth. Colostrum can be preserved conveniently for future use by brief refrigeration, freezing, or storage at ambient temperatures (fermentation or chemical treatment). Colostrum management were surveyed via data collection from 67 dairy farms in Gyeonggi and Chungnam provinces. After parturition for five days the total amount of produced colostrum was 80.4 kg on average, and the average amount of lactation fed to a calf was 20.9 kg. According to the survey results, identified treatment methods for surplus colostrum are as follows; disposal 17.9%, other calf feeding 37.3%, storage 22.4%, other livestock feeding 20.9% and other treatment 1.5%. For improvement in the quality of colostrum, there must be controlled usage of medicines (such as antibiotics) before and after parturition, proper choices of milk-drying agents, and increased milking yields during the early stage of the milking period.
In order to investigate experimentally the effects of $So{\breve{u}}m$-In Bojungikit'ang and Dong-Won Bojungikit'ang on Yang-Insufficient syndrome(陽虛證) induced by Hydrocortisone acetate(HA) in experimental animals(Mice and Rats), the author experimented with various activities. Body temperature(BT), Body weight(BW), Exercise time, Cyclic-AMP, the Ra's Hair condition was measured. The results obtained are as follows : 1. In body temperature, the Dong-Won Bojungiki'ang treated group was increased significantly and the $So{\breve{u}}m$-In Bojungikit'ang treated group showed no significance. 2. In body weight, the $So{\breve{u}}m$-In Bojungikit'ang treated group had increased significantly and the Dong-Won Bojungikit'ang treated group showed no significance and there was a significant difference between the $So{\breve{u}}m$-In Bojungikit'ang and the Dong-Won Bojungikit'ang. 3. In exercise time. the $So{\breve{u}}m$-In Bojungikit'ang and the Dong-Won Bojungikit'ang treated groups were significantly increased. 4. In cyclic AMP, both experimental groups showed increasing tendancy, but showed no significance. 5. In the Rat' s hair condition. the $So{\breve{u}}m$-In Bojungikit'ang showed significance. 6. There was no significant difference between the $So{\breve{u}}m$-In Bojungikit'ang and the Dong-Won Bojungikitang except the body weight. from the above findings. (1) it has been demonstrated thet the $So{\breve{u}}m$-In Bojungikit'ang and Dong-Won Bojungikit'ang groups seem to produce the effecticeness on the recovery from depression of metabolism induced by Bydrocortisone acetate. (2) In body temperature response the Dong-Won Bojungikit'ang had effectiveness during recovery. (3) In body weight response the $So{\breve{u}}m$-In Bojungikit'ang had the effecticeness during recovery. (4) In exercise time. Both experimental group had the effectiveness during recovery. (5) In cyclic AMP response. both experimental group had no effectiveness during recovery. (6) In the Rat's hair condition response the $So{\breve{u}}m$-In Bojungikit'ang group had the effectiveness during recovery. Therefore in is suggested theat the $So{\breve{u}}m$-In Bojungikit'ang and Dong-Won Bojungikit'ang groups had effecticeness during recovery from Yang-Insufficient syndrome more of less.
This study was performed to evaluate antithrombotic activities of Saegeumsan (瑞金散, SGS) which has effects of activating blood, removing thrombus. This study is designed to measure the effect which was given to blood flow rate through the regular volume of glass tube after the blood was diluted five times with ACD solution. Antithrombotic effect was calculated as a percentage of the experimental animal figure protected from the paralysis of hind legs or death of the mouse that is caused from the administration of platelet aggregation regent. We standardized the time when the experimental animals were incapable of functioning the hind legs more than 20 minutes or maintained trembling. Being classified one group of eight mice, each of them was divided into Normal, Control, and SGS. The normal group supplied a saline solution and the control group brought the dextran extravasated blood after an hour of administering the saline solution. Also, SGS was dissolved in $2m{\ell}$ saline solution and then we dosed it to the experimental mice with Oral Zonde one day before the experiment. After that, the mice were abstained from food. And then we gave a measured amount of it before an hour. Finally, it gave rise to dextran extravasated blood in the same way as the Control group. The results were obtained as follows, SGS significantly inhibited platelet aggregation induced by ADP and epinephrine when analyzed by the Sigmoid $E_{max}$ model in WinNonlin. $EC_{50}$ values of SGS were 4.61 mg/ml and 12.41 mg/ml for ADP and epinephrine respectively. SGS showed fibrinolytic activity insignificantly as compared with the control group. SGS increased blood flow rate significantly as compared with the control group in vitro. SGS inhibited pulmonary embolism induced by collagen and epinephrine(inhibitive rate is 37.5 %). SGS increased number of platelet and fibrinogen amount significantly, and shortened PT and APTT as compared with the control group in thrombus model induced by dextran. According to, SGS is effective antithrombotic activity from experimental result.
