IIR Filter Design of HRTF for Real-Time Implementation of 3D Sound by Synthetic Stereo Method (합성 스테레오 방식 3차원 입체음향의 실시간 구현을 위한 머리전달 함수의 IIR 필터 설계)

  • In this paper, we proposed an algorithm for the approximation of high order FIR filters by low order IIR filters to efficient implementing two channel 3-D surround sound systems using Head-related transfer functions(HRTFs). The algorithm is based on a concept of the balanced model reduction. The binaural sounds using the approximated HRTFs are reproduced by headphone, and serves as a cue of sound image localization. HRTFs of dummy-head are approximated from 512-order FIR filters by 32-order IIR filters and compare with each other. .Experiment of sound image are carried out for 10 participants. We perform the experiment based on computer simulation and hardware experiment with TMS320C32. The results of the experiments show that the localization using the approximated HRTFs is the same accuracy as the case of FIR filters that simulate the HRTFs.

  • 본 논문에서는 IIR/FIR 필터 융합을 위한 기법을 제안하고 이를 INS/GPS 결합항법장치에 적용한다. IIR 형태의 EKF와 FIR 형태의 RHKF 필터를 각 필터의 잉여값과 잉여값 공분산을 이용한 적응형 융합 확률을 계산하여 융합함으로써 두 필터의 장점을 갖도록 한다. 이 융합 기법을 적용한 INS/GPS 결합항법장치는 기존의 단독 필터를 사용하는 것보다 강인한 특성을 갖고 항법정보를 제공한다.

  • In this paper, an inverse filtering technique for the digital filter model is proposed. This technique enables us to obtain a stable non-causal m inverse filter by transforming (approximating) it to a causal stable inverse system. In practice, a causal FIR approximation to this inverse filter is proposed. It can be shown that the impulse response of the inverse filter for all-pass systems is simply the mirror image of the impulse response for the system. Specially, due to this symmetric property of the impulse response of all-pass systems, the proposed technique is more useful for all-pass systems than other systems. In order to illustrate the proposed inverse filtering technique, four examples are presented. Two of them are for all-pass filters. The other two examples are for IIR and FIR filters. Also, computer simulations demonstrate that the proposed technique works very well.

  • This paper proposes a design of IIR notch filter with modified pole placements. The pole angle is derived from quadratic programming to find the appropriate pole position on the unit circle in z-plane in order to achieve the symmetry of the amplitude response. The simulation results are shown when compared with the conventional design technique. Moreover, it uses the TMS320C31 DSP chip for hardware implementation. Finally, the hardware implementation can be applied to removal of ECG baseline wander and elimination of AC power line interference in ECG signal.

  • In this paper, a dynamical filter called the Highest Probability Data Association Filter(HPDAF) improved by adding target feature information is proposed for robust target detection and tracking in clutter. IIR contains 2-dimensional kinematic coordinate, intensity, and feature information. In data association of the HPDAF for track initiation, feature information is utilized in addition to coordinate and intensity information. The performance of the proposed HPDA algorithm is tested and compared with the conventional HPDAF algorithm for track initiation by a series of Monte Carlo simulation runs for a 3-dimensional missile-target engagement. scenario.

  • In this paper, we propose a method, an optimized architecture of a device with an image signal process of a field unit to minimize the flick phenomenon that happens in direction of a color temperature at a color tone change. The proposed IIR loop filter has an optimized architecture and reduced hardware compared with previous filters. In order to achieve the optimization for the hardware complexity. It is designed by time-multiplexing architecture. The proposed IIR loop filter is synthesized by using the STD90 0.35um cell library.

  • In this paper, an optimal FIR (Finite-Impulse-Response) filter is proposed for discrete time-varying state-space models. The proposed filter estimates the current state using measured output samples on the recent time horizon so that the variance of the estimation error is minimized. It is designed to be linear, unbiased, with an FIR structure, and is independent of any state information. Due to its FIR structure, the proposed filter is believed to be robust for modeling uncertainty or numerical errors than other IIR filters, such as the Kalman filter. For a general system with system and measurement noise, the proposed filter is derived without any artificial assumptions such as the nonsingular assumption of the system matrix A and any infinite covariance of the initial state. A numerical example show that the proposed FIR filter has better performance than the Kalman filter based on the IIR (Infinite- Impulse-Response) structure when modeling uncertainties exist.

  • In this paper, a new adaptive IIR notch filter employing all pass filter is proposed. Proposed all pass filter is composed of all pole and all zero sections, each of which utilizes modulation lattice filter [11]. And, adaption algorithm for proposed notch filter is also derived. In addition, the error surface for proposed IIR adaptive notch filter is analyzed. Computer simulation results reveal that the proposed adaptation algorithm works well for low SNR(signal to noise ratio) single and multiple sinusoids. And it is shown that for estimation time varying frequency, the parameter which is related to notch bandwidth is important than any other parameters.

A Low-power Decimation Filter Structure Using Interpolated IIR Filters (Interpolated IIR 필터를 이용한 저전력의 데시메이션 필터 구조)

  • 본 논문에서는 무선 통신 시스템의 중간주파수 처리 단을 디지털로 신호 처리하는 DDC(Digital Down Converter)의 저전력 아키텍처를 제안한다. FIR 필터의 계산량을 줄이기 위해서 개발된 Interpolated FIR 필터가 DDC의 데시메이션 필터로 널리 사용되고 있다. 본 논문은 이와 같은 Interpolated FIR 필터의 개념이 IIR 필터에도 적용될 수 있음을 보이고, 전력 소모와 구현 면적이 기존의 Interpolated FIR 구조보다 더욱 감소된 Interpolated IIR 필터 구조를 제안하였다. CDMA IS-95 DDC 사양의 데시메이션 필터를 FIR 구조, Interpolated FIR 구조, IIR 구조, Interpolated IIR 구조로 구현하여 이 4가지 구조들의 전력소모와 구현 면적을 비교하였으며 제안된 Interpolated IIR 구조가 기존의 Interpolated FIR 구조에 비하여 15.2%의 소모전력 감소와 35.3%의 구현면적의 감소를 달성할 수 있음을 보인다.
