Utilization of ICT in Higher Education within ASEAN Countries (아세안 국가 고등교육에 있어서의 ICT 활용 분석)

  • The purposes of this study were to examine the current status of ICT in all ASEAN countries and to provide implications for Korea to find appropriate ways to support and collaborate with HEIs in ASEAN countries. To achieve these purposes, ASEAN countries were categorized into 3 groups based on the development stages of ICT, and the key ICT initiatives, current facts about ICT, and related issues were analyzed. The results of the study were as follows: Group 1 countries, Brunei, Malaysia, and Singapore, with relatively well-established ICT infrastructure, have established their own ICT policies and initiated e-learning programs. Group 2 countries, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam, which have relatively well-developed ICT infrastructure with existing regional gaps, showed different uses of ICT in higher education. Philippines and Thailand established their own policies based on national ICT master plans while Indonesia focused on MOOCs and Vietnam initiated cyber university projects. Group 3 countries, Cambodia, Lao PDR, and Myanmar, with the least developed ICT infrastructure in ASEAN, have also tried to develop national level strategies to utilize ICT in higher education. However, insufficient and inadequate ICT infrastructure created issues and challenges for these countries to successfully initiate ICT policies. This study suggested that it is necessary to take into serious consideration the national differences when collaborating with and supporting ASEAN countries due to the variation of ICT development stages and different levels of using ICT in higher education among ASEAN countries.

A Study on Teachers' Recognition about the Subject Exclusive Responsibility of ICT Education in Elementary School (정보통신기술교육의 교과전담제에 대한 초등 교사의 인식에 관한 연구)

  • Currently, ICT(Information and Communication Technology) education in elementary school is processed as a discretion class work. Such ICT education needs the research to change to a literacy education. This study is the teachers' recognition about the subject exclusive responsibility of ICT education in elementary school. As a result of a questionnaire, we analyzed that most of the teachers want to change the ICT education as a subject exclusive responsibility. Through these analysis results, this study provided basic data for effective operating of ICT education as the computer education.

A Study on ICT Usability and Availability of Between Korean Students and OECD Students : Focus on PISA 2015 (OECD 국가들과 한국 학생들 간 ICT 접근성과 활용성 연구-2015년 데이터를 중심으로)

  • It is in the vortex of the Fourth Industrial Revolution in all areas of our society. Education is no exception. We all know that software is at the center of the education in the 4th industry revolution. It is very important for students to survey the ICT background in order to be good at software education. The OECD PISA has surveyed ICT background of students in a three-year cycle from 2003. This study analyzes PISA ICT statistical data based on the data released in April 2017. We compare and analyze the availability and usability items among the 81 items of the ICT background of the students. The results of linear regression analysis showed that Korea was the lowest among OECD countries. ICT availability is ranked 28 out of 30 countries and ICT usability is ranked 31 out of 31 countries. This reflects the fact that ICT education is not implemented in the country since 2008. For the students who will be the leaders of the future society, ICT education that had implemented in 2000 should be carried out quickly.

  • 2000년 8월1일 교육 인적 자원부는 7차 교육과정 컴퓨터 교육에 대한 보완으로 「초 ·중등 학교 정보 통신 기술 교육운영 지침」을 발표하여 ICT 교육을 의무화하도록 했다. ICT 교육은 학습자로 하여금 단순히 컴퓨터를 사용하는 방법을 가르치는 것을 넘어 정보 통신 기술을 교과 수업에 활용하는 능력을 길러주는 방향으로 나아가고 있다. 따라서 효율적인 ICT교육이 이루어지기 위해서는 각 학년 단계에 알맞은 컴퓨터 교육과정이 편성되고, 그것이 교수-학습과정에서 적절히 활용되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 초등학교의 효율적인 ICT교육 방안을 모색하기 위하여 현재 부산광역시의 인정 보급 도서인 '즐거운 컴퓨터'의 활용에서 나타나는 컴퓨터 교육의 제반 문제점을 분석하고, 초등학교의 컴퓨터 교육필요성과 그 편성 방안을 제안하고자 한다.

A Study on the Public Library As a Place of ICT Literacy Training (ICT 리터러시 교육 활용 공간으로서의 공공도서관)

  • This research is part of the Korean-ASEAN Official Development Assistance (ODA) project, specifically exploring the possibility of using public libraries as a place for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) literacy training for women from ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) countries. Women from ASEAN countries are often minorities in ICT capacity building. A survey of 1,000 female public library users - 100 people from each of the ten ASEAN countries - and in-depth interviews with librarians from national libraries were conducted. The survey results showed that 68.8% of respondents perceived public libraries as a suitable place for ICT literacy training. 27.5% of respondents visited libraries for ICT-related activities, including information retrieval, e-mail, SNS, etc., Meanwhile, findings from the interviews highlighted the importance of having up-to-date ICT infrastructure - computers, Internet, professional ICT skill training for librarians, strategic planning for policies, budgets, and cooperation with other related institutions - in public libraries in order to provide effective ICT training.

New Directions for School Algebra in ICT based Society (ICT시대의 대수교육의 방향과 과제)

  • The relevance of secondary school algebra focused on paper and pencil manipulation has been reconsidered along with the expansion of universal education and the development of ICT such as computer or calculators. This study was designed to investigate the issues and trends of the recent algebra so as to provide implementations for algebra curriculum in Korea. The focus of algebra education has being shifted from paper pencil manipulation to algebraic thinking. The early algebra or informal algebra is one of the important traits of revolution, and the role of ICT is integrated in newly developed curricula. In Korea, algebra education has been retaining the traditional line even though the national curriculum documents allows ICT for instruction. The reasons of these discrepancies were analyzed and the tasks for the new curriculum in accordance with the current trends were suggested in this paper.

  • 우리나라는 2009년 OECD DAC 회원국으로 가입하면서 6.25전쟁직후 세계 최빈국으로써 원조를 받는 국가에서 60년만에 국제사회에 원조를 제공하는 공여국으로 성장한 국제사회의 유일무이한 사례이다. 우리 나라의 ODA(Official Development Assistance)는 ICT, 교육 분야 등과 같이 우리나라가 세계적으로 경쟁력을 가지고 있는 분야를 특성화하여 제공하고 있다. 모로코는 2012년까지 9,000여개의 모로코 초중등학교에 ICT를 보급한다는 계획과 ICT 산업 육성을 국가 주요 정책으로 추진하고 있는 있어 금번 프로젝트는 모로코 교사의 ICT 역량 강화를 지원하기 위하여 한국의 ICT 교육시스템을 모로코 초중등 교사에게 제공하는 것이다. 본 프로젝트는 교육쎈터 리모델링, ICT 기자재설치, 교사 커리큘럼 개발, 홈페이지 개발, 정책보고서 발간, 모로코 교사 초청 연수로 구분되어 있으며, 2009년 1월에 시작되어 2010년 11월에 완료된다. 본 프로젝트를 통해 모로코 초중등 교사 23만명중 년간 1,000명을 교육하고, 교육을 받은 교사는 소속지역에서 ICT Master Teacher 역할을 담당하게 된다. 본 프로젝트를 통하여 우리나라는 모로코 교육 선진화에 기여하며, 한국 ICT 기자재를 활용함으로써 한국산 H/W, SW 및 교육컨텐츠의 우수성을 모로코와 인근 국가에 홍보하고, 이를 통해 국내 기업의 북아프리카 진출을 간접 지원하였다. 또한, 본 프로젝트를 통하여 모로코를 비롯하여 2000년도부터 년평균 5.3%의 경제성장을 지속하고 있는 아프리카지역에 한국 ICT제품이 진출할 수 있는 방안으로, 국산 e-러닝 개발툴을 영어, 불어와 아랍어 버젼으로 추가 개발하였으며, 모로코 대학과 합작기업을 설립을 추진하고 있다.

A Study on the Current Status and Improvement Plan of Information and Communication Technology Application in Education for Elementary Schools (초등학교 ICT 활용교육 실태 및 개선방안 연구)

  • For successful accomplishment of ICT application in education that has been carried out in elementary schools, comprehensive supports to the essential factors, that are related systematically, in education such as curriculum, educational environment, and teachers are necessary. With this idea in mind, the purpose of this work is to analyze barriers to ICT application in education and propose desirable improvement plans for activating ICT application in education for elementary schools. For this purpose, in this work, we first conduct an extensive survey. In order to get the extensive survey results, three points of view, that is, curriculum, educational environment, and teachers are considered. Based on the survey results, we present the current status and activation plans of ICT application in education for each point of view.

  • 본 연구는 인지적 학습효과가 높아지고 자아 존중감과 협동심을 키울 수 있는 JigsawIII모형을 ICT 소양교육에 적용하는 방안에 대한 연구이다. JigsawIII를 토대로 ICT 소양교육의 이론과 기능분야를 학습하도록 학습환경과 학습절차를 구성하고 실제 현장에 적용하여 실험집단에 JigsawIII 모형을 실시하고, 통제집단에 전통학습방법을 실시하였다. 연구의 결과 이론 학습에서는 실험집단과 통제집단의 학습효과가 비슷하였으나, 기능학습에서는 JigsawIII를 적용한 실험집단이 평균점수의 검증결과가 더 높게 나타났으며, 통계적으로도 p<.05 수준에서 유의미한 것으로 나타났다. ICT 소양교육이 실생활에서 응용할 수 있는 ICT 지식을 익히고 능동적으로 활용하도록 하는 것에 그 목적이 있으므로 JigsawIII모형 ICT 교육에 활용한다면 긍정적인 교육적 효과를 이루어낼 수 있을 것이다.

A Study on the Development of ICT Curriculum for Private Security Workers (민간경비 종사자의 ICT직무교육과정 개발에 관한 연구)

  • This study developed the ICT curriculum focusing on apartment security guards and analyzed the actual application results. We developed the educational contents and it designed ICT job courseware for elder education by considering and that designed in consideration of the computer attitudes and physical and cognitive characteristics of the elderly. The educational program was applied to the experimental group and the satisfaction and the educational effect were analyzed through the pre and post test results. As a result of the analysis, the satisfaction level of the education program was higher than the average of 4.00 points. The elderly informal education program was examined by using the qualitative assessment test tool before and after the application of the education program. Internet self-efficacy of experiment group, improvement of internet utilization ability, usage of internet use, personal information willingness, life correction, elimination of conflict among generations, self-confidence, and internet stress increased statistically significantly. These results suggest that the "Private Expense ICT Job Training" program developed in this study can be effective for elderly informatization and can be applied to other elderly education programs and contribute to promotion.
