SEG Based Engineering Education Innovation: A Case Study on GNTECH-ICEE

  • GNTECH-ICEE, which this study seeks to investigate and evaluate, demonstrates a new system of training innovative engineers. An essential component of this operation is a Small Engineering Group (SEG) that links professors, students and industrial experts together, to study and apply different techniques in determining the processes and products that relate industrial sectors needs. As an education program, SEG also provides a right direction for educating students, and generates industry-university link based human resources. Through these efforts, GNTECH-ICEE has effectively trained creative, professional, and practical engineers, by operating a variety of programs for meeting industrial needs and enhancing engineering education. SEG has many merits that have influenced its success so far, but the program also faces some challenges. The merits include; strong group bondage, practical ability incubation, and efficient administrative support. In terms of demerits, it is evident that sufficient theoretical education and local small-middle size enterprises (SMEs)' sustainable participation cannot be warranted. Thus, we propose that initiative strategies have been helpful to maximize GNTECH-ICEE's goal of making students into multi-player engineer, but continuously financial and administrative strategies be put into place in order to guarantee SMEs' long-term devotion to the program, and to help create a sustainable network between students and the companies involved.

창의 실습공간 활용을 통한 비교과 교육방안 연구 (A Study of Non-Curricula Teaching Plan Utilizing a Creative Workshop)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine examples of college engineering students who utilize a creative workshop that are in line with non-curricular activity support both at a domestic and foreign learning environment. It also seeks the improvements of a non-curricular teaching plan utilizing Tongmyong University's Creative Engineering Center. To achieve the intended goal, it has carried out survey satisfaction levels targeting students who visited the Creative Engineering Center and has suggested the way for sustainable operations of a Creative workshop at Tongmyong university's Creative Engineering Center to perform the development of student projects, the securement of infrastructure and the development of equipment training program in conjunction with the University Specialization.

  • This paper deals with a result of case study for the development of CEA(Course-Embedded Assessment) design tool for engineering education accreditation implementing programs. Many programs have been devoting efforts to apply CEA to their engineering education. In order to effectively apply the CEA to educational program, it is required to develop the standardized form or scheme for CEA application. As a preliminary approach, we propose the design tool and the result of a case study for CEA application in engineering education.

부호 상관기를 활용한 STDR 기법의 탐지 성능 개선 (Performance Improvement of STDR Scheme Employing Sign Correlator)

  • 이 논문에서는 STDR(sequence time domain reflectometry) 기법의 상관기 앞단에 부호기를 넣음으로써 계산량을 증가시키지 않고도 원거리 고장의 위치 탐지 성능을 향상시킬 수 있는 방법을 제안한다. STDR 기법은 PN 수열을 인가하여 시간 영역 상관(time domain correlation)으로 고장 위치를 탐지하는 기법이므로, 상관기 앞단에 부호기를 넣음으로써 고장 위치에서 반사된 신호를 STDR 기법의 인가 신호에 가깝게 복원시켜 상관 값을 증가시킬 수 있다. 제안한 기법을 사용하여 원거리 고장에서 고장위치 탐지 성능을 크게 개선시킬 수 있음을 모의실험으로 확인한다.

  • 이 논문에서는 하나의 표적을 다수의 레이더에서 감지하였을 때 3차원 선형 최소제곱오차 알고리즘을 활용하여 정보를 융합함으로써 표적의 위치를 추정하는 기법을 유도하고, 표적에 대한 GPS 측정 정보를 결합하는 기법과 정보에 가중치를 두어 결합하는 기법으로 확장하는 방법을 제안한다. 모의실험을 통하여 제안한 표적 위치 추정기법들이 추정 오차를 줄일 수 있음을 확인하고, 가중치를 두어 정보를 결합하면 측정 정보가 부정확한 경우에도 표적 위치 추정 성능이 강인할 수 있음을 보인다.

여러 가지 수열을 적용한 STDR/SSTDR 기법의 성능 비교 및 개선 (Performance Comparison and Improvement of STDR/SSTDR Schemes Using Various Sequences)

  • 이 논문에서는 다양한 길이와 종류의 수열을 사용한 STDR(sequence time domain reflectometry) 및 SSTDR(spread spectrum time domain reflectometry) 기법의 고장위치 탐지 성능을 비교하고, SSTDR 기법의 성능 향상을 위한 인가신호 제거 방식을 제안한다. 대표적인 PN(pseudo-noise) 수열인 m 수열, 자기상관(autocorrelation) 성질이 우수한 이진(binary) Barker 수열과 4위상 Frank 수열을 사용하였을 때, 전력선 채널 모형에서 고장 유형, 고장위치, 제안 기법 사용 유무를 바꾸어가며 오탐지율을 비교 분석한다. 감쇠가 심할 때와 고장위치가 매우 가까울 때 제안한 인가신호 제거 방식을 사용하면 고장위치 탐지 성능을 크게 개선시킬 수 있음을 모의실험으로 확인한다.

공과대학생의 두뇌우성 사고유형과 셀프리더십과의 관계 연구 (A study of relationship among the Brain Dominance Thinking Types and Self Leadership of engineering students)

  • The purpose of this study was to identity the relationships of sub factor among the brain dominance thinking types(A,B,C,D quadrant thinking type) is based on the Whole Brain Modal and self-leadership by Manz. The subjects were 102 undergraduates students from the Hoseo university in Cheonan. The results of this study as follows ; first, the brain dominance thinking type A was the highest and type C was highly rated. Second, the brain dominance thinking type A was not correlated type C and type D. Third, the brain dominance thinking type C and self-leadership sub factor was significantly positively correlated.

다면적 평가를 통한 교육성과 평가도구 개발 및 분석연구 (Practical Measurement on Education Outcome Through Multi-Evaluations)

  • This paper diagnose subjects and measures the learning ability of students based on the goal of developing an assessment tool for education productivity based on multi-aspect evaluation conducted by ICEE at Honam University. Furthermore, develop an assessment tool for education productivity that provides a motive to bring detailed improvements in teaching methods through the diagnosis. In addition, a method for compensating the issues and improving the quality of subject is suggested to develop learning ability of students through applying the assessment tool. An integrated operated system of CQI is desired to be built along with quality improvement of education through measuring academic quality by studying the methods for enhancing academic and learning ability achievement from analysis of the curriculum provided in the "ABEEK program". Through this study the current state of education productivity is presented through analyzing the difference between students who participated in the "ABEEK program" and who did not participate, and operating a comparison between the student's comprehension on their majors and liberal arts by the multi-aspect evaluation that has been conducted for 2 years.
