  • There are many kinds of research on web graph, most of them are focus on the hyperlinked structure of the web graph. Well known results on the web graph are rich-get-richer phenomenon, small-world phenomenon, scale-free network, etc. In this paper, we define 3 new directed web graph, so called the Web Usage Pattern Graph (WUPG), that nodes represent web sites arid arcs between nodes represent a movement between two sites by users' browsing behavior. The data to constructing the WUPG, approximately 56,000 records, are gathered from some users' PCs. The results analysing the data summarized as follows : (i) extremely rich-get-richer phenomenon (ii) average path length between sites is significantly less than the previous one (iii) less external hyperlinks, more internal hyperlinks.

  • In this paper, we introduce strongly quasi primary ideals which is an intermediate class of primary ideals and quasi primary ideals. Let R be a commutative ring with nonzero identity and Q a proper ideal of R. Then Q is called strongly quasi primary if $ab{\in}Q$ for $a,b{\in}R$ implies either $a^2{\in}Q$ or $b^n{\in}Q$ ($a^n{\in}Q$ or $b^2{\in}Q$) for some $n{\in}{\mathbb{N}}$. We give many properties of strongly quasi primary ideals and investigate the relations between strongly quasi primary ideals and other classical ideals such as primary, 2-prime and quasi primary ideals. Among other results, we give a characterization of divided rings in terms of strongly quasi primary ideals. Also, we construct a subgraph of ideal based zero divisor graph ${\Gamma}_I(R)$ and denote it by ${\Gamma}^*_I(R)$, where I is an ideal of R. We investigate the relations between ${\Gamma}^*_I(R)$ and ${\Gamma}_I(R)$. Further, we use strongly quasi primary ideals and ${\Gamma}^*_I(R)$ to characterize von Neumann regular rings.

  • If G is any connected graph of order p; then the thorn graph $G_p^*$ with code ($n_1$, $n_2$, ${\cdots}$, $n_p$) is obtained by adding $n_i$ pendent vertices to each $i^{th}$ vertex of G. By treating the pendent edge of a thorn graph as $P_2$, $K_2$, $K_{1,1}$, $K_1{\circ}K_1$ or $P_1{\circ}K_1$, we generalize a thorn graph by replacing $P_2$ by $P_m$, $K_2$ by $K_m$, $K_{1,1}$ by $K_{m,n}$, $K_1{\circ}K_1$ by $K_m{\circ}K_1$ and $P_1{\circ}K_1$ by $P_m{\circ}K_1$ and their respective generalized thorn graphs are denoted by $G_P$, $G_K$, $G_B$, $G_{KK}$ and $G_{PK}$ respectively. Many chemical compounds can be treated as $G_P$, $G_K$, $G_B$, $G_{KK}$ and $G_{PK}$ of some graphs in graph theory. In this paper, we obtain the bounds of the wiener index for these generalization of thorn graphs.

  • In 1933, I. Schur introduced a Schur ring in connection with permutation group and regular subgroup. After then, it was studied mostly for purely group theoretical purposes. In 1970s, Klin and Poschel initiated its usage in the investigation of graphs, especially for Cayley and circulant graphs. Nowadays it is known that Schur ring is one of the best way to enumerate Cayley graphs. In this paper we study the origin of Schur ring back to 1933 and keep trace its evolution to graph theory and combinatorics.

  • Let G be a graph with vertex set V(G) and edge set E(G), and let g, f be two nonnegative integer-valued functions defined on V(G) such that $g(x)\;{\leq}\;f(x)$ for every vertex x of V(G). We use $d_G(x)$ to denote the degree of a vertex x of G. A (g, f)-factor of G is a spanning subgraph F of G such that $g(x)\;{\leq}\;d_F(x)\;{\leq}\;f(x)$ for every vertex x of V(F). In particular, G is called a (g, f)-graph if G itself is a (g, f)-factor. A (g, f)-factorization of G is a partition of E(G) into edge-disjoint (g, f)-factors. Let F = {$F_1$, $F_2$, ..., $F_m$} be a factorization of G and H be a subgraph of G with mr edges. If $F_i$, $1\;{\leq}\;i\;{\leq}\;m$, has exactly r edges in common with H, we say that F is r-orthogonal to H. If for any partition {$A_1$, $A_2$, ..., $A_m$} of E(H) with $|A_i|=r$ there is a (g, f)-factorization F = {$F_1$, $F_2$, ..., $F_m$} of G such that $A_i\;{\subseteq}E(F_i)$, $1\;{\leq}\;i\;{\leq}\;m$, then we say that G has (g, f)-factorizations randomly r-orthogonal to H. In this paper it is proved that every (0, mf - (m - 1)r)-graph has (0, f)-factorizations randomly r-orthogonal to any given subgraph with mr edges if $f(x)\;{\geq}\;3r\;-\;1$ for any $x\;{\in}\;V(G)$.

  • Let R be a commutative ring and M be an R-module. The dimension graph of M, denoted by DG(M), is a simple undirected graph whose vertex set is Z(M) ⧵ Ann(M) and two distinct vertices x and y are adjacent if and only if dim M/(x, y)M = min{dim M/xM, dim M/yM}. It is shown that DG(M) is a disconnected graph if and only if (i) Ass(M) = {𝖕, 𝖖}, Z(M) = 𝖕 ∪ 𝖖 and Ann(M) = 𝖕 ∩ 𝖖. (ii) dim M = dim R/𝖕 = dim R/𝖖. (iii) dim M/xM = dim M for all x ∈ Z(M) ⧵ Ann(M). Furthermore, it is shown that diam(DG(M)) ≤ 2 and gr(DG(M)) = 3, whenever M is Noetherian with |Z(M) ⧵ Ann(M)| ≥ 3 and DG(M) is a connected graph.

  • This paper presents an optimized adoption of NVM for the storage system of heterogeneous applications. Our analysis shows that a bulk of I/O does not happen on a single storage partition, but it is varied significantly for different application categories. In particular, journaling I/O accounts for a dominant portion of total I/O in DB applications like OLTP, whereas swap I/O accounts for a large portion of I/O in graph visualization applications, and file I/O accounts for a large portion in web browsers and multimedia players. Based on these observations, we argue that maximizing the performance gain with NVM is not obtained by fixing it as a specific storage partition but varied widely for different applications. Specifically, for graph visualization, DB, and multimedia player applications, using NVM as a swap, a journal, and a file system partitions, respectively, performs well. Our optimized adoption of NVM improves the storage performance by 10-61%.

  • For exact classification of the defect, good feature selection and classifier is necessary. In this paper, various features such as brightness features, shape features and statistical features are stated and Bayes classifier using Gaussian mixture model is used as classifier. Also feature extraction method based on spectral graph theory is presented. Experimental result shows that feature extraction method using graph Laplacian result in better performance than the result using PCA.

  • An element r of a commutative semiring R with identity is said to be identity-summand if there exists $1{\neq}a{\in}R$ such that r+a = 1. In this paper, we introduce and investigate the identity-summand graph of R, denoted by ${\Gamma}(R)$. It is the (undirected) graph whose vertices are the non-identity identity-summands of R with two distinct vertices joint by an edge when the sum of the vertices is 1. The basic properties and possible structures of the graph ${\Gamma}(R)$ are studied.
