  • The development of electric vehicle has been accelerated by the recent 'California Initiative' which has required increasing proportions of new vehicle in Los Angeles area to be ZEV(Zero Emission Vehicles) But, because skill of battery is feeble, ZEV regulation was postponed but that is by CO2 restriction and environmental pollution problem the latest because do development require. In the electric vehicle and hybrid electric vehicle, the battery ECU(Battery Management System, BMS) is very important and an essential equipment. The accurate state of charge(SOC) is required for the battery for hybrid electric vehicles. This paper proposes SOC algorithm for the HEV based on the terminal voltage. Also, designed and analyzed battery ECU to apply on HEV.

  • With aggravation of environmental contamination and energy resource exhaustion, Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV) that can be economically operated with low fuel consumption are receiving greater attention. For performance improvement of such HEV, the development of efficient transmission can be seen as one of core technologies such as performance of components and driving strategy. Dual clutch transmission (DCT) is actively studied as a transmission type for HEV due to its advantages of having excellent power transmission efficiency based on manual transmission characteristic, resolving the problem of power interruption, and realizing driving convenience of automatic transmission (AT). In this paper, one diesel HEV equipped with 6-Speed DCT, modelled using MATLAB/Simulink, and a performance simulator developed for this vehicle are introduced. Driving simulation with driving cycles such as FTP75 and NYCC was performed using the developed performance simulator, and the simulated results regarding state of charge and fuel economy, when AT and DCT are applied to this diesel hybrid vehicle respectively, are compared. This performance simulator can be utilized to develop a control algorithm for improving the fuel economy of HEV with DCT.

  • Electric vehicle(EV), hybrid electric vehicle(HEV) and fuel cell electric vehicle(FEV) are seen as one way of reducing the harmful effects of traffic and of improving energy efficiency. Therefore the status and developing trend of the EV, HEV and FEV are given in this paper. A major aspect of alternative drive trains is the electric drive train. The automotive aspect in developing electric drive trains is emphasized.

  • The HEV (Hybrid Electrical Vehicle) becomes commercialized recently because of high fuel efficiency and low air pollution. The highest output power system except the traction motor is an air conditioner compressor in HEV system. The full or hybrid electric compressor is applied for HEV. The general HEC (Hybrid Electric Compressor) requires the half power motor and drive system of the full electric compressor because the rated output power of motor drive system is designed to charge the minimum cooling capacity at the time of idle stop. Therefore, this hybrid electric is more economical and practical solution. In this paper, we studied about the motor drive system of hybrid electric compressor for HEV. The applied voltage specification is 42 V, an IPMSM (Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) is designed and applied as the compressor drive motor.

  • Toyota사의 PRIUS THS 시스템을 이용하여 HEV 알고리즘 분석을 통한 THS의 주행 모드 변환에 따른 실시간 모니터링 시스템을 개발하고자 한다. 병렬형 하이브리드 시스템의 경우에 엔진과 전동기를 주행 상태 최적인 상태로 운행하기 위해서는 다양한 제어전략이 필요하다. 본 연구를 통하여 주행 가능한 THS 차량의 주행에 필요한 입 출력 정보를 실시간적으로 모니터링할 수 있는 시스템을 개발한 결과, 하이브리드 자동차의 동력 분할 및 에너지 활용을 극대화시키기 위한 수단의 하나로 차량의 주행모드 변화에 따른 각 구성요소의 동작 상태를 모니터링 가능하게 되었다. 개발된 시스템은 제어전략의 체계적인 수립과 실시간 데이터 분석이 가능하기 때문에 HEV자동차의 알고리즘 분석해석을 통해 HEV자동차의 개발 기반에 유용하게 활용될 것이다.

  • This paper presents the design of a switched reluctance motor (SRM) for electric air conditioning compressors which are applied to hybrid electric vehicles (EVs). The motor for driving air conditioning compressor which is recently used on EV(electric vehicle) / HEV (hybrid electric vehicle) is PMSM(permanent magnet synchronous motor) or BLDCM(brushless DC motor). However disadvantage of motors that uses permanent magnets are vulnerable to high temperatures because of the demagnetization by the high temperature and the permanent magnet is expensive because of the high price of rare earth materials from China's monopoly. Therefore, in the automotive insustry is interested in the non-rare-earth motors. SRM has many advantages. it's resistant to high temperatures, price is cheaper, because there are no permanent magnets and winding in the rotor. Also it's high relability and efficiency, suitable for high-speed operation because of structure is simple. In this paper, the SRM, non-rare-earth motor, are designed, analyzed and experimented drive to replace an existing electric compressor drive motor.

  • There is a growing interest in hybrid electric vehicles due to environmental concerns. Recent efforts are directed toward developing an improved main component systems for the hybrid electric vehicle applications. Soon after the introduction of electric starter for internal combustion engine early this century, despite being energy efficient and nonpolluting, electric vehicle lost the battle completly to internal combustion engine due to its limited range and inferior performance. Hybrid Electric vehicles offer the most promising solutions to reduce the emission of vehicles. This paper describes a method for cost reduction estimation of parallel hybrid electric vehicle. We used a cost reduction structure that consisted of five major subsystems (three-type and two-type motor) for parallel hybrid electric vehicle. Especially, we estimated the potential for cost reductions in parallel hybrid electric vehicle as a function of time using the learning curve. Also, we estimated the potentials of cost by depreciation.

자작형 하이브리드카의 제작 및 제어에 관한 연구 (A Study on Manufacture and Control of a Self Manufacturing Hybrid Electric Vehicle)

  • In this paper, Hybrid Electric Vehicle is directly designed and manufactured for base study of HEV's system and Green Car. Foundation design consists of power train design and the frame design. The power train concept includes motor, engine, generator and battery. And the concept of the frame is the single-seat of this self-made HEV. A frame installed in hybrid system contains suspension, steering wheel, seat, accelerating pedal, brake pedal, clutch handle and various chassis parts with bearings. Electromagnetic clutch is equipped to transmit engine power to drive axle. The control algorism make using LabVIEW to control of an engine and a motor depending on drive condition. A parallel type hybrid system is manufactured to control operation of a motor and an engine depending on vehicle speed.

  • A battery is the primary energy source device presently used in hybrid electric vehicle. It can store much energy, but cannot provide enough current without inefficient units. However, an ultracapcitor can provide much current, but cannot store much energy. It will have better fuel economy by combining the two energy sources in parallel. The purpose of this paper is making the simulator of the two HEV systems. The one has only battery, the other have battery and ultarcapacitor in parallel. To compare the fuel economy, dynamic programing was used for optimization and prius was used for HEV model.

  • 전기자동차(Electric Vehicle, EV)와 하이브리드 전기자동차(Hybrid Electric Vehicle, HEV)의 성능과 수명주기 비용은 배터리 팩에 좌우된다. 팩 내부의 비정상적인 온도분포는 전지간의 전기적인 불균형을 가져오고 팩의 성능을 떨어뜨리기 때문에 팩 내부의 온도 균일성은 EV와 HEV용 전지 팩의 최적 성능을 위한 중요한 요소이다. 본 연구에서는 EV와 HEV용 리튬이온전지 팩의 열적 거동을 예측하기 위해 삼차원 전산 모사를 하였다. 전지 팩의 열전도도는 각종 구성요소의 열전도 저항이 직렬과 병렬로 연결되어 있는 것으로 간주하였다. 셀에서의 열 발생량은 전지내부의 전기화학적 반응에 의한 반응열과 전류의 흐름과 내부저항에 의한 열을 고려하여 계산 하였다.
