An Integrated Agent Control System Based on Virtual Reality and Mobile Environment (가상현실과 모바일 환경 기반의 통합 에이전트 제어 시스템)

  • Recently, there are lots of concerning on the control of multi-agent control system and mixed reality integrating real and virtual environments. In this paper, an integrated agent control system based on mixed reality and mobile environment is proposed. The system consists of a manager, agents, a mapping module, a geographic information module, a WAP server, and a mobile manager. The manager has Hybrid Device Manager(HDM) working for revising images and position data of the agents to display that at the 3D virtual and mobile environments respectively. Especially, the images of the agent is translated to LBM format and displayed on the mobile phone, and the current position of the agent is displayed on the display screen, so that a user are able to control the agent when he is moving. Experimental results shows the proposed system lets us control the agents conveniently at a computer and a mobile phone.

A SPICE-Compatible Model for a Gate/Body-Tied PMOSFET Photodetector With an Overlapping Control Gate

  • A new SPICE-compatible model for a gate/body-tied PMOSFET photodetector (GBT PD) with an overlapping control gate is presented. The proposed SPICE-compatible model of a GBT PD with an overlapping control gate makes it possible to control the photocurrent. Research into GBT PD modeling was proposed previously. However, the analysis and simulation of GBT PDs is not lacking. This SPICE model concurs with the measurement results, and it is simpler than previous models. The general GBT PD model is a hybrid device composed of a MOSFET, a lateral bipolar junction transistor (BJT), and a vertical BJT. Conventional SPICE models are based on complete depletion approximation, which is more applicable to reverse-biased p-n junctions; therefore, they are not appropriate for simulating circuits that are implemented with a GBT PD with an overlapping control gate. The GBT PD with an overlapping control gate can control the sensitivity of the photodetector. The proposed sensor is fabricated using a $0.35{\mu}m$ two-poly, four-metal standard complementary MOS (CMOS) process, and its characteristics are evaluated.

Prediction of Wave Energy Absorption Efficiency and Wave Loads of a Three-Dimensional Bottom-Mounted OWC Wave Power Device (착저식 OWC 파력발전장치의 파에너지 흡수효율 및 파랑하중 계산)

  • The wave energy absorption efficiency and the first-order and the time-mean second-order wave loads of a three-dimensional bottom-mounted oscillating water column (OWC) chamber structure are studied. The potential problem is solved by making use of a hybrid Green integral equation associated with the finite-waterdepth free-surface Green function outside a twin chamber and the Rankine Green function inside taking account of the fluctuating air pressure inside the chamber. Numerical results of the primary wave energy converting efficiency and the oscillating and steady wave loads of a three-dimensional bottom-mounted OWC pilot plant have been presented.

  • Recently, the interior permanent synchronous motor (IPMSM) has been applied to an integrated starter and generator (ISG) for hybrid electric vehicles. In the design of such a motor, thermal analysis is necessary to maximize the power density because the loss is proportional to the power of a motor. Therefore, a cooling device as a heat sink is required internally. Generally, a cooling system designed with a water jacket structure is widely used for electric motors because it has advantages of simple structure and cooling effectiveness. An effective approach to analyze an electric machine with a water jacket is a thermal equivalent network. This network is composed of thermal resistance, a heat source, and thermal capacitance that consider the conduction, convection, and radiation. In particular, modeling of the cooling channel in a network is challenging owing to the flow of the coolant. In this paper, temperature prediction using a thermal equivalent network is performed in an ISG that has a water cooled system. Then, an experiment is conducted to verify the thermal equivalent network.

  • This paper proposes a dimming method and a hybrid LED driving circuit suitable for the ultra high definition (UHD) broadcasting. There are major two problems during the dimming control for traditional LED broadcast lightings; one is a flicker that occurred when camera filming to these lightings, and the other is that linear control is impossible for LED luminous intensity under 10% due to LED electrical characteristics. The proposed dimming method and the driving circuit are designed to solve two problems simultaneously. For high level dimming control region from 10 to 100%, the analog control method was applied to the switching regulator constructed by MOSFET operated in the saturation region. For low level dimming control region under 10%, the fast PWM control method with the linear regulator constructed by MOSFET in the ohmic region was used. We verified experimentally that the dimming method is able to control the luminous intensity linearly from 1 to 100% and the flicker disappears on images taken by the charge coupled device (CCD) and the complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) cameras. Therefore, the proposed method is suitable for the UHD broadcasting.

  • Recently, digital door locks have been widely used as physical security devices for the door. Although they are convenient compared to the existing lock system, they have the problem of being opened by an electric shock. In this study, to improve safety, a method to hide the door-lock device inside and to display the door-lock on a user's smart-phone screen through the augmented reality is suggested. Furthermore, an additional function has been added which provides memo notes to facilitate communication among family members. The results of this study have been implemented by using motors to control locks, Wi-Fi shield, Arduino, and a virtually created door and showed desirable experimental results.

  • Linear pulse Motors(LPM) are widely used in fields where smooth linear motion is required, and their position accuracy is higher than other motors. Hybrid linear pulse motors(HLPM) are regarded as an excellent solution to positioning problems that require high accuracy, rapid acceleration and high-speed. The LPM has low mechanical complexity, high reliability, precise open-loop operation and low inertia etc. In many application areas such as factory automation speed positioning, computer peripherals and numerically controlled machine tools, LPM can be used. This motor drive system is especially suitable for machine tools the high position accuracy and repeatability. This paper describes about that need of the embroider machine, we want to design position-scanning device for the embroidery machine. At first, to be analysed characteristics of the machine and next designed the LPM, we used the field analysis program. The finite element method(FEM) program tool is employed for calculation the force. The reluctance models will be used the magnetic permeance of air gap by static-conditions. The forces between forcer and platen have been calculated using the virtual work method. And we used the simulink to know the dynamic characteristics of LPM.

  • Many types of tuned mass dampers (TMDs), such as active TMDs, multiple TMDs, hybrid TMDs etc., have been studied to effectively reduce the dynamic responses of a structure subjected to various types of dynamic loads. In this study, we replace a passive damper by a semi-active tuned mass damper to improve the control performance of conventional TMDs (STMD). An idealized variable damping device is used as semi-active dampers. These semi-active dampers can change the properties of TMDs in real time based on the dynamic responses of a structure. The control performance of STMD is investigated with respect to various types of excitation by numerical simulation. Groundhook control algorithm is used to appropriately modulate the damping force of semi-active dampers. The control effectiveness between STMD and a conventional passive TMD, both under harmonic and random excitations, is evaluated and compared for a single-degree-of-freedom (SDOF) structure. Excitations are applied to the structure as a dynamic force and ground motion, respectively. The numerical studies showed that the control effectiveness of STMD is significantly superior to that of the passive TMD, regardless of the type of excitations.

Three-Port Converters with a Flexible Power Flow for Integrating PV and Energy Storage into a DC Bus

  • A family of non-isolated DC-DC three-port converters (TPCs) that allows for a more flexible power flow among a renewable energy source, an energy storage device and a current-reversible DC bus is introduced. Most of the reported non-isolated topologies in this area consider only a power consuming load. However, for applications such as hybrid-electric vehicle braking systems and DC microgrids, the load power generating capability should also be considered. The proposed three-port family consists of one unidirectional port and two bi-directional ports. Hence, they are well-suited for photovoltaic (PV)-battery-DC bus systems from the power flow viewpoint. Three-port converters are derived by combining different commonly known power converters in an integrated manner while considering the voltage polarity, voltage levels among the ports and the overall voltage conversion ratio. The derived converter topologies are able to allow for seven different modes of operation among the sources and load. A three-port converter which integrates a boost converter with a buck converter is used as a design example. Extensions of these topologies by combining the soft-switching technique with the proposed design example are also presented. Experiment results are given to verify the proposed three-port converter family and its analysis.

  • MANET(Mobile Ad-Hoc Network) mean network that configured to mobile device without the help of Fixed infra. Node in MANET constraints have such as liquidity and battery. Node concentrated areas or the size of the network becomes large that causes some issues. It's the problem of routing overhead when path set, path navigation and reset path. In this paper ZRP(Zone Routing Protocol) and ZHLS(Zone-Based Hierarchical Link State) are analyzed. As a result, offers the Fixed ZRP.
