Efficacy of the Short Form of Mentalization Improvement Program for Adolescent (MIPAdo) for Enhancement of Mental Health in School Children (단축형 청소년용 정신화 프로그램의 학생정신건강 증진효과 평가)

  • Objectives : We developed the short form of the Mentalization Improvement Program for Adolescent-Community Model (MIPAdo-CM-S), based on the concept of the mentalization. Methods : The MIPAdo-CM was composed of 6 sessions and was applied to 133 students in the 1st grade of a middle school for six weeks during their regular school hours. After 6 weeks, we compared the endpoint changes of Adolescent Mental Problem Questionnaire-Revised (AMPQ-R), Emotional Empathy Test, Peer Aggression Scale, Peer Bullying Scale, School Adjustment Scale, Test Anxiety Inventory and Visual Analogue Scale between the subject and the control group. Results : On the Visual Analoge Scale, students in the trial classes reported an increased understanding and respect for others, as well as themselves. Conclusion : The efficacy of MIPAdo-CM was subjective improvement of understanding and respect for both others and themselves. To prove objective usefulness of this program, further studies should be administered in the form of long-term, regular and structured courses.

Effects of Pig Slurry Application on the Characteristics of Runoff Water in Volcanic Ash Soil in Jeju (제주 화산회토양에서 돈분액비 시용이 유거수의 특성에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to determine the effects of application levels of pig slurry on the characteristics of runoff water in volcanic ash soil in Jeju, Korea. This study was arranged in randomized complete block design. The data represent the means of the three experiments. Experimental plots were consisted of five treatments such as no fertilizer, chemical fertilizer at 200kg N/ha/year and pig slurry levels at 200, 400 and 600kg N/ha/year. The concentrations of BOD and COD in 600kg N/ha pig slurry were significantly higher (p<0.05) than those of the other treatments at initial sampling at 12 days after application. The total nitrogen concentration in runoff water increased with increasing pig slurry. The total phosphorous concentration in runoff water was hardly influenced by application levels of pig slurry since there were no significant difference among the treatments. The concentrations of $NO_3-N\;and\;NH_4-N$ were raised (p<0.05) in proportion to application levels of pig slurry. In conclusion, pig slurry usage at 200kg N/ha to the volcanic ash soil in Jeju area can replace the chemical fertilizer. However, more than 200kg N/ha of pig slurry may not be appropriate, because it may contaminate the water environment.

  • The cooling water system for the PEFP 20 MeV proton accelerator was established and tested to obtain the precise resonance frequency of DTL through the temperature control of cooling water. The water temperature in the main flow loop was manipulated by adjusting the proportion of hot water returning from the DTL structures through the heat exchanger loop. Due to low duty factor operation and insufficient cooling loop installation of the DTL tanks, the manual mode operation was applied to maintain the DTL temperatures close to their resonance temperatures. The optimized process conditions with flow balancing and pressure drop in the DTL cooling systems are reported.

  • Closure of interdental spaces using proximal build-ups with resin composite is considered to be practical and conservative. However, a comprehensive approach combining two or more treatment modalities may be needed to improve esthetics. This case report describes the management of a patient with multiple diastemas, a peg-shaped lateral incisor and midline deviation in the maxillary anterior area. Direct resin bonding along with orthodontic movement of teeth allows space closure and midline correction, consequently, creating a better esthetic result.

  • A micros-strip ring patch antenna with ultra wide band characteristics is presented. The proposed antenna is designed by a modified form of the annular ring patch antenna with modified microstrip feedline. The designed antenna gives 5.6GHz bandwidth with regular radiation pattern from 4.4GHz to 12.0GHz for -10dE return loss or VSWR of less than 2.0 in simulation, which is also excellently agreed with the measured data.

A Study on Analysis of J85 Engine V.G. Actuator Arm Shaft Crack

  • The crack in a J85 engine V.G. actuator arm shaft for a bell crank on the engine compressor was investigated. The crack was observed in twenty two shafts during the inspection of 238 shafts. The failure analysis of shaft cracks was performed by chemical composition analysis using ICP(Inductively Coupled Plasma) and by fracture surface and microstructure analysis using FE-SEM and optical microscope. The crack initiated from the top and bottom and propagated to the center along the grain boundaries. From the chemical composition analysis, the fractography of the fracture surface and the microstructure, it was found that the failure mechanism of the shafts is the inclusion-related intergranular decohesion crack. The inclusion was found out from MnS particle by EDS(Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy). The crack initiated MnS inclusion in the grain boundary and propagated with the increase of applied shear stress during long operation. In order to prevent the fracture, NDI(Nondestructive inspection) is needed periodically as recommended.

  • Multi-path ultrasonic Sow measurement system uncertainty is determined by assigning an expected error of each component of flow measurement and then defining the total flow measurement uncertainty as square root of the sum of squared values of the individual error. Sources of uncertainty for flow measurement are geometry, transit time and velocity profile integration uncertainty. A theoretical uncertainty model for multi-path ultrasonic transit time flowmeter configured with parallel 5 chords, is derived from and calculated by dry calibration method.

  • This study investigated to the effects of a mental image drawing in RHD patients with left neglect. Three subjects participated in this study. All subjects were right handed and native speaker of korean. In task 1, the patients were presented with visual stimulus card directly above the response sheet and were asked to draw the picture. In task 2, they were presented with items auditorily and asked to draw the picture(mental image drawing). In all experimental conditions, there was no response time limit. The results showed that the subjects showed left neglect leaving some space on the left side in task 1. And the picture was drawn the left side from the right in direction. However, the neglect disappeared in task 2. And the picture was drawn the right side from the left in direction. The results of the present study suggested that a mental image drawing technique can be effective in treating individuals who exhibit left neglect. Also, the picture direction showed that the korean normality was same.

  • According to the development of the economy and to the improvement in life quality, it is increased for the desire for the comfortable circumstance in the underground subway station. And recently, an accident, fire, suicide and so on have been risen. An advanced countries have introduced PSD, and they satisfies with the effect of PSD. The optimum design standard to set up PSD have to satisfy the by train wind beyond the maximum static pressure. This paper includes the maximum static pressure what can be applied to the PSD installation design.

  • The object of this study is the design of 3 phase on-board inverter. The key point in the inverter design is the selection of switching device, and its performance effects that of total system. In this study, six-step square wave inverter was designed using IGBT ( Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor ) which has the advantages of MOSFET and bipolar transistor as switching device. The condition of being small and light which is the one of requirements for on-board equipment was accomplished by using IGBT module and optimising the snubber circuit, and the reliablity was increased. It is confirmed that the designed inverter satisfies the required performance through the performance and environment test.
