탄소강 및 해드필드강의 파이프 조관에 따른 침식부식 거동에 대한 비교연구 (Comparing Erosion-Corrosion Behaviors of Carbon Steel and Hadfield Steel According to Pipe Forming)

  • Erosion-corrosion behaviors of Hadfield steel under a neutral aqueous environment with fine SiO2 particles were examined and compared with those of conventional carbon steel. A range of electrochemical experiments (potentiodynamic polarization, linear polarization, and impedance), immersion test, and slurry pot test (i.e., erosion-corrosion test) were performed. Results showed that the Hadfield steel composed of austenitic matrix with (Fe,Mn)-based carbide had lower corrosion potential and higher corrosion current density than carbon steel with a typical ferrite/pearlite structure. In addition, pipe forming increased total corrosion rates (i.e., pure corrosion and erosion-enhanced corrosion rates). Nevertheless, the erosion-corrosion rate of Hadfield steel was much smaller. Morphological observation showed that local damage in the form of a crater by erosion-corrosion was more noticeable in carbon steel. The higher resistance of Hadfield steel to erosion-corrosion was attributed to its lower total erosion rates (i.e., pure erosion and corrosion-enhanced erosion rates) highly depending on surface hardness. This study suggests that Hadfield steel with higher resistances to flowing erosion-corrosion in an aqueous environment can be applied widely to various industrial fields.

젖소 초유로부터 분리한 Insulin-like Growth Factor-1 분획이 In Vitro에서 마우스의 면역 활성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of IGF-I Rich Fraction from Bovine Colostral Whey on Immune Activity of Mouse In Vitro)

  • 젖소 초유 whey 내에 존재하는 IGF-I을 분리하기 위하여 ultrafiltration을 사용하여 30과 1 kDa 사이의 IGF-I rich fraction을 분획하였다. 분획한 IGF-I rich fraction내에 IGF-I의 존재 여부는 SDS-PACE와 western blotting으로 확인하였고, sandwich ELISA로써 분획 내 IGF-I을 정량하였다. 그 결과 IGF-I은 단백질 mg당 10 ng으로 측정되었다. 분획한 IGF-I rich fraction을 마우스 복강 macrophge의 면역 활성에 미치는 영향 즉, IL-6, NO, $TNF-{\alpha}$, Phagocytosis, $H_{2}O_{2}$,의 분비 유도 및 생성량을 측정하였고, splenocyte의 면역 활성으로는 splenocyte의 증식 효과와 natural killer cell의 항암작용을 측정하였다. 실험 결과 IGF-I rich fraction $1{\mu}g/mL$ 투여군에서 IL-6의 생성량은 9.85 ng, NO의 생성량은 $17.1{\mu}M$, phagocytosis는 양성 대조구에 대비하여 78.3%의 탐식작용을 나타내었고 $TNF-{\alpha}$$H_{2}O_{2}$의 생성량은 대조구에 대비하여 각각 34.5 및 6% 더 많은 양을 생산하였다. Splenocyte 면역활성에 미치는 영향으로 T cell과 B cell 증식은 대조군에 대비하여 각각 36 및 76%로 더 높은 증식 효과를 나타내었고, NK cell의 활성은 대조군보다 55.4%의 높은 활성을 보였다.

Proteomic Analysis in ob/ob Mice Before and After Hypoglycemic Polysaccharide Treatments

  • In an attempt to discover novel biomarker proteins in type 2 diabetes prognosis, we investigated the influence of hypoglycemic extracellular polysaccharides (EPS) obtained from the macrofungus Tremella fuciformis on the differential levels of plasma proteins in ob/ob mice using two-dimensional gel electrophoresis (2-DE). The 2-DE analysis demonstrated that 92 spots from about 900 visualized spots were differentially regulated, of which 40 spots were identified as principal diabetes-associated proteins. By comparing control with EPS-fed mice, we found that at least six proteins were significantly altered in ob/ob mice, including Apo A-I, IV, C-III, E, retinol-binding protein 4, and transferrin, and their levels were interestingly normalized after EPS treatment. Western blot analysis revealed that the altered levels of the two regulatory molecules highlighted in diabetes and obesity (e.g., resistin and adiponectin) were also normalized in response to EPS. The Mouse Diabetes PCR Array profiles showed that the expression of 84 genes related to the onset, development, and progression of diabetes were significantly downregulated in liver, adipocyte, and muscle of ob/ob mice. EPS might act as a potent regulator of gene expression for a wide variety of genes in ob/ob mice, particularly in obesity, insulin resistance, and complications from diabetes mellitus.

  • Seborrheic dermatitis is acute or choronic inflammatory diseasa frequently caused by herediary factor, endocine abnormality, alchol, etc. It is similar to Myunyoupung in Oriental Medicine. Under the assumption that Sopung-san and Cheongsangbangpung-tang may be effective for treatment seborrheic dermatitis. The symptoms including erythematous plaque, scale, itching were resolved clearly by Sopung-san and Cheongsangbangpung-tang. Sopung-san and Cheongsangbangpung-tang are effective in the treatment of seborrheic dermatitis. if more clinical trials like this are proved to be effective in seborrheic dermatitis, we can expect that Sopung-san and Cheongsangbangpung-tang are used to treatment of seborrheic dermatitis as good method.

  • This study has been carried out to investigate the cause and symptom of Hae su (咳嗽) cause by a cold referring to 25 literature. 1. Cause : wind (風), cold (寒), heat (署), moisture (濕), dryness (燥), fire (火). It appears to cause double and above. 2. Symptoms : PunghanHaeSu (風寒咳嗽) ; HaeSu (咳嗽), Balyul (發熱), DamHueSaegBaeg (痰稀色白), Hu Yang Sung Tag (喉痒聲濁), BiSaegYuChe (鼻塞流涕), OhPungHan (要風寒), DooShinTong (頭身痛), TaeBaqBaeg (笞薄白), Maeg Bu Gin (脈浮緊).   • In reality, there are numerous [Note: I advise to change the tone to being more certain, as opposed to offering a possibility. You need to emphasize the seriousness of the conditions that your study wants to talk about] non-tariff trade barriers under free trade agreements, with various stakeholders having different trade-off interests. This study focuses on the rules of origin verification and considers cases in which domestic firms, foreign firms, and domestic consumer groups compete politically for their rent protection in the domestic market. As in Gwande et al. (2006), cross-border lobbies are considered possible wherein foreign firms also lobby the government to influence the decision-making process of how stringently to verify the rules of origin. [Note: Starting here, switch to past tense because a: study intentions above can be in present tense, b: study procedures should be in past tense] In this study, we assumed that all stakeholders form interest groups and present political contributions to the government based on their interests. The stringency of the rules of origin verification was then determined through this political process, and we compared this to a socially optimal one in the analysis. It was found that the verification was less stringent when there was cross-border lobbying than the socially optimal one.

  • 본 연구에서는 C2C12 근육 세포에서 IGF-I이 세포골격 연결 단백질인 plectin과 MACF1 유전자 발현에 미치는 영향에 대해 알아보았다. 그 결과 IGF-I이 plectin 유전자의 단백질과 mRNA 발현을 증가시켰으며, MACF1 mRNA 발현을 증가시켰음을 알 수 있었다. 이는 운동에 의해 근육에서 분비가 증가하는 IGF-I이 근육 관련 유전자들의 발현을 조절하여 근부피 유지에 영향을 미친다는 기존의 연구 결과들에서 더 나아가 골격근 구조 안정화 및 근수축 기전에 기여하는 plectin과 MACF1 유전자 발현에도 영향을 미친다는 사실을 증명하였다는데 의의가 있다고 사료된다. 향후 근수축 기전에 있어, 운동 형태, 근섬유의 종류에 따른 세포 골격 단백질의 역할 규명 및 조절자에 관한 연구가 더 수행된다면 운동이 골격근의 생리적 변화에 미치는 영향에 대한 추가적 정보를 제공할 수 있을 것이다.

Apoptosis of Human Hepatocarcinoma (HepG2) and Neuroblastoma (SK-N-SH) Cells Induced by Polysaccharides-Peptide Complexes Produced by Submerged Mycelial Culture of an Entomopathogenic Fungus Cordyceps sphecocephala

  • Three different polysaccharide-peptide complexes (PPC, named as Fr-I, Fr-II, and Fr-III) were produced by submerged mycelial culture of an entomopathogenic fungus Cordyceps sphecocephala, and their anticancer activities were investigated in human hepatocarcinoma (HepG2) and neuroblastoma (SK-N-SH) cells. The highest inhibitory effects of PPC on both HepG2 and SK-N-SH cells were achieved with Fr-I, whereas Fr-III with low molecular mass showed lower inhibition effects. Interestingly, the inhibitory effects of the three fractions were increased after protease digestion, suggesting that the inhibitory effects resulted mainly from the carbohydrate moiety, at least in the case of Fr-II and Fr-III, of PPC. The results of DNA fragmentation in PPC-induced apoptotic cells were confirmed by both DNA ladder assay and comet assay. Our investigation also showed that PPC-induced apoptosis of both cancer cells was associated with intracellular events including DNA fragmentation, activation of caspase-3, and modulation of Bcl-2 and Bax. We conclude that PPC has potential as a novel therapeutic agent for the treatment of both HepG2 and SK-N-SH cancer cells without any cytotoxicity against normal cells.

신생아 대사이상 선별검사 이상으로 진단된 I형 타이로신혈증 (A Case with Tyrosinemia Type I Detected by Neonatal Screening Test)

  • I형 타이로신혈증은 타이로신의 분해 과정 중 최종단계에 관여하는 효소인 fumarylacetoacetate hydrolase(FAH)의 결핍에 의한 대사 이상질환이다. 급성 I형 타이로신혈증은 치명적인 간부전이나 혈액응고장애와 같은 급성 임상증상이 나타난 이후에는 예후가 불량하였으나 최근에는 신생아 대사이상 선별검사를 통해 조기 진단이 가능해졌고 2-(2-nitro-4-trifluoro-methylbenzyol)-1,3 cyclohexanedione nitisinone (NTBC) 약물 치료로 타이로신혈증의 치료 성적이 향상됨에 따라 신생아 대사이사 선별검사를 통한 조기 진단과 조기 치료가 더욱 중요해졌다고 할 수 있다. 이에 저자들은 심각한 출혈이나 간부전과 같은 급성 이상 증상이 나타나기 전 신생아 대사이상 선별검사로 조기 진단 및 조기 중재적 치료로 양호한 경과를 보이고 있는 I형 타이로신혈증 1례를 경험하였기에 문헌 고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다.

  • By studying from Chun Kuk are(戰國時代) to Chung area(淸代), I could find some conclusion as follows. 1. It was Chun Kuk area(戰國時代) that was shown some signs of forthcoming activity of theory of Ki Kyung Pal Maek(奇經八脈). In that time, Hwang Jae Nae Kyung(黃帝內經) had been written. That book made a important role for foundation of theory of Ki Kyung Pal Maek(奇經八脈), but it hadn't sufficient contents in some parts. 2. The theory of the Ki Kyung Pal Maek (奇經八脈) had been developed in Jin Han area(秦漢時代), Nan Kyung(難經) had been written in the area, Nan Kyung(難經) had been the first book which had referred to name and physiology of Ki Kyung Pal Maek(奇經八脈) and it also had mentioned about course, function, and pathology of that in simple manner. 3. In Yang Jin are and Su Dang area(兩晋 및 隋唐時代), Maek Kyung(脈經) and Hwang Jae Nae Kyung Tae So(黃帝內經太素) had been written Maek Kyung(脈經) had been the first book which had referred to pathology of Ki Kyung Pal Maek(奇經八脈) by Maek Jin(脈診) in detail, and it had affected on such books like Tae Pyung Seoung Hveu bang (太平聖惠方) and Ko Kum Yeu Tong Dae Chon(古今醫統大全). Hwang Jae Nae Kyung Tae So(黃帝內經太素) had mentioned about course, function, and pathology about Ki Kyung Pal Maek(奇經八脈) in most detail at that time, and it also had referred to that of such books like Myung Dang(明堂) and Ku Khoun Kyung(九卷經) which do not exist in present. Because of these point, Hwang jae Nae Kyung Tae So(黃帝內經太素) is evaluated an important book of theory of Ki Kyung Pal Maek(奇經八脈). 4. In Song area(宋代), Seung Jae Chong Rok(聖濟總錄) had been written. Seung Jae Chong Rok(聖濟總錄) first mentioned about meeting between Ki Kyung Pal Maek(奇經八脈) and Sip I Jong Kyung(十二正經), so this book helped development of theory of Ki Kyung Pal Maek(奇經八脈) of Kum Won area(金元時代). 5. In Kum Won area(金元時代), Dong In Su Hyul Chym Ku Do Kyung(銅人腧穴針灸圖經) had been written. Dong In Su Hyul Chym Ku Do Kyung(銅人腧穴針灸圖經) made a important role of theroy of Im Meak(任脈) and Dok Meank(督脈). Sip Sa Kyung Bal Hyui(十四經發揮) was superior to other books which had been referred to theory of Ki Kyung Pal Maek(奇經八脈) at that time. Also Sip Sa Kyung Bal Hyui(十四經發揮) more mentioned about meeting between Ki Kyung Pal Maek(奇經八脈) and Sip I Jong Kyung(十二正經) than that of Seung Jae Chong Rok(聖濟總錄), so this book helped dvelopment of theory of Ki Kyung Pal Maek(奇經八脈). 6. In Myung area(明代), Ki Kyung Pal Maek Ko(奇經八脈考) that had almost accomplished theory of Ki Kyung Pal Maek(奇經八脈) had been written. Ki Kyung Pal Maek Ko(奇經八脈考) was the best book more than any other book that had been mentioned about theory of Ki Kyung Pal Maek(奇經八脈) in three ways as follows. 1) It is Ki Kyung Pal Maek Ko(奇經八脈考) that mentioned about near similar manner of modern course and physiology of Ki Kyung Pal Maek(奇經八脈). 2) Ki Kyung Pal Maek Ko(奇經八脈考) mentioned about pathology and treatment of Ki Kyung Pal Maek(奇經八脈) in detail more than any other book. 3) Ki Kyung Pal Maek Ko(奇經八脈考) emphasized on relationship between Ryun Kong(鍊功) and Ki Kyung Pal Maek(奇經八脈).
