  • The ideal housing in the 21st century means that it can provide people with the balanced life between nature and human life, while is possible through the systematic harmony of nature, environment, and human. As our society increasingly pays attention to the importance of environment, environment friendly houses and ecological dwellings are being built. If we add our own cultural environment attribute and historical identity to the ecological housing, we can create the most unique Korean ecological architecture. This study examines ecological interior expression methods from the traditional housing architecture which started out of nature, in order to find out an ecological approach in the interior design of the dwelling space. Based upon this examination, it mainly focuses on how these methods can be applied to a modern housing architecture. From an ecological perspective, the traditional house interior has two distinct characteristics; nature friendly and human friendly, because it considered nature and human harmoniously. The interior of the traditional housing can be divided into three types; nature friendly, health friendly, and human friendly. Finally, this study investigates the ecological value of the three types and application of them to modern housing. It will help to find out the harmonious way of building a house harmonizing both nature and human. Especially, considering that the nature is being destructed and the health of human is deteriorating due to the destruction of the nature, this study will show a feasible alternative to build the most Korean style of environmental architecture.

  • In this paper, an effective intention reading scheme is proposed for human-friendly interface. Soft computing techniques such as fuzzy logic and artificial neural networks are used for this. And Gabor filter based feature(GG feature) is also proposed to deal with local activity in the human face. It is based on human visual system and Gabor filter based approach is very popular in these days. The proposed scheme is adopted for human-friendly interface for rehabilitation service robotic system KARES II.

The data were collected from 298 housewives living in Yeungnam region through a self-administered questionnaire during April, 2010. Frequencies, Cronbach's $\alpha$, factor analysis, cluster analysis, one-way analysis of variance, Duncan's multiple range test and chi-square test were conducted by SPSS Windows. The results obtained from this study were as follows. Lifestyles were categorized into five factors by factor analysis: healthy-seeking type, popularity-seeking type, convenience-seeking type, safety-seeking type and taste-seeking type. • Architectural design for school can be completed well when the environment-friendly elements are satisfied. In other words, the environment-freindly element could be most important idea for school planning, and one should have this direction for each element as a design goal. In this study, I defined the "environment-friendly" as the environment for nature and human. I examined what could satisfy those and would be its principles. I set up the criteria to satisfy each priciple. Most important factor to keep the relation between nature and human would be reducing carbon dioxide emissions, and a green belt would absorb it. Therefore, I think that there would be effective possibility when suitable conditions are applied in phases. Every school can have comfort as environment-friendly facility, at the same time, contribute to nature. Also, students can learn and study nature, and perform a duty as human.

  • The purpose of this research was to develop an index for the certificate systems of family-friendly corporations. To be specific, first of all this research reviewed indexes which were developed in foreign countries. Second, it examined the domestic indexes related to the evaluation of family-friendly corporations. Third, it derived characteristics of family-friendly corporations through an in-depth interview with recruiters from those corporations in Korea and developed the index for the certificate systems of family-friendly corporations. And fourth, it tested the validity and reliability of the developed index. Based on the characteristics of family-friendly corporations which were revealed through the qualitative analysis on the data from the in-depth interview with recruiters from 30 family-friendly corporations, we developed 10 indexes for the certificate systems of family-friendly corporations. Also the analysis of the validity and reliability of the developed index indicated that it has high validity and reliability. Finally this research proposed how to apply this developed index to policies related to the certificate systems of family-friendly corporations.

  • This study analyzed the effects of consumer knowledge and attitudes toward spending on environment-friendly agricultural products. Using data collected from 486 Ulsan housewives, results showed each score of consumer knowledge on and attitude to environment-friendly agricultural products was the middle level, and that mean monthly expenditure on environment-friendly agricultural products was 91,193 won. A multiple regression analysis was computed and indicated that higher spending on environmentally friendly agricultural products was related to high levels of consumer knowledge, positive attitudes to environment-friendly agricultural products, higher levels of household income, being a housewife in terms of occupation position, and post-graduate education levels. Furthermore, results also implied that consumer knowledge and attitudes to environment-friendly agricultural products were of greater influences than the demographic variables in their influence over spending on environment-friendly agricultural products.

  • With the rising importance placed on sustainability for brands, a plethora of research addresses consumer responses concerning eco-friendly products. While positive effects of eco-friendly traits on beauty products have been discussed, this study addresses a wide research gap in the makeup category. Based on the goal-attribute theory and the lay theory of ethicality, detrimental effects of eco-friendly ingredient claims on perceived appearance enhancement attributes (AEA) were examined. A between-subject, single-factor (eco-friendly ingredient claims present vs. absent) web-based experimental design tested the effect of conditions on makeup products that emphasized AEA. Results found a negative effect of eco-friendly ingredient claims on perceived AEA, supporting previous literature regarding the 'green gap'. Evidence showed that perceived AEA fully mediated the effect of eco-friendly claims on purchase intention, which was moderated by AEA preference. Interestingly, findings show that the purchase intention of respondents with a near-average preference for AEA was not moderated. Results contribute to preexisting literature by extending the lay theory of ethicality and product function mismatch to the field of makeup. Managerial implications are discussed, including opportunities for eco-friendly makeup products to appeal to alternative benefits.

  • This study proposes a plan for the residents to have a capacity to build a family-friendly community on their own. As there is not a family-friendly community related program developed for "Resident's Capacity Reinforcement", three programs closely related with family-friendly community program were analyzed instead. Analysis showed that first, the community spirit must be emphasized to maintain the characteristics of family care with social support. Second, educational contents must reflect resident's capacity elements that are necessary for participating in the family friendly community building stages. Third, there is a necessity for systematization of education courses into beginner, intermediate, and specialty course given education is continued. Fourth, there is a necessity for the curriculum that may be used for the family friendly community building to foster human and material resource management ability. Therefore, framework for the educational contents suggests X-axis and Y-axis presented by person-business and morphogenic-morphostatic as referred to Ulrich(1997),s human resource model. However, this study has limitations because educational program of 'livable community building' are analyzed for the plan to reinforce capacity to build family-friendly community. There is a necessity for continuing to improve the program by in depth interview or social survey with residents and leader in community.
