We studied the thermal and electron properties of covalent one-dimensional (1D) monatomic linear chains of carbon, particularly carbyne. We found the ${\alpha}$-carbyne (Polyyne, alternating single and triple C-C bond co-existing) is more stable than ${\beta}$-carbyne (Equally-spaced based on C-C double bond) energetically. As investigation of electron density of states (EDOS), polyyne and cumulene had different electronic characteristic, which corresponding metallic and semiconducting respectively. We also calculate the phonon dispersion, phonon density of states (PDOS) and phonon transmission of carbynes.

To establish appropriate conditions for a disinfectant efficacy test at subzero temperatures, this study examined mixtures of frozen foot-and-mouth disease virus or avian influenza virus solutions and disinfectant diluents at $-5^{\circ}C$ and monitored temperature and freezing status of an anti-freezing diluent (AFD, 15% ethanol + 30% propylene glycol + 55% distilled water) over time at various subzero temperatures. Viral solutions and disinfectant diluents froze before the mixtures reached $-5^{\circ}C$, whereas the AFD was not frozen at $-30^{\circ}C$. The times taken for the AFD to reach -10, -20, -30, and $-40^{\circ}C$ from room temperature were 36, 39, 45, and 48 min, respectively.

Francisella tularensis (FT), a highly infectious pathogen, is considered to be a potential biological weapon owing to the current lack of a human vaccine against it. Tul4 and FopA, both outer membrane proteins of FT, play an important role in the bacterium's immunogenicity. In the present study, we evaluated the immune response of mice - humanized with human CD34+ cells (hu-mice) - to a cocktail of recombinant Tul4 and FopA (rTul4 and rFopA), which were codon-optimized and expressed in Escherichia coli. Not only did the cocktail-immunized hu-mice produce a significant human immunoglobulin response, they also exhibited prolonged survival against an attenuated live vaccine strain as well as human T cells in the spleen. These results suggest that the cocktail of rTul4 and rFopA had successfully induced an immune response in the hu-mice, demonstrating the potential of this mouse model for use in the evaluation of FT vaccine candidates.

본 논문에서는 고용량 및 고방전 리튬-이온($LiCoO_2$)원통형 (cylindrical)셀의 방전전류크기 및 SOC 구간에 따른 등가회로 파라미터의 특성을 비교 분석해보고 SOC 추정시 모델링 및 알고리즘 차별화의 필요성을 제시하고자 한다.

In this paper, we give a formula of $(P+Q)^D$ under the conditions $P^2Q+QPQ=0$ and $P^3Q=0$. Then applying it to give some results of block matrix $M=(^A_C^B_D)$ (A and D are square matrices) with generalized Schur complement is zero under some conditions. Finally, numerical examples are given to illustrate our results.

In this paper, we first give some representations for four new mock theta functions defined by Andrews [1] and Bringmann, Hikami and Lovejoy [5] using divisor sums. Then, some transformation and summation formulae for these functions and corresponding bilateral series are derived as special cases of ₂𝜓₂ series $${\sum\limits_{n=-{{\infty}}}^{{\infty}}}{\frac{(a,c;q)_n}{(b,d;q)_n}}z^n$$ and Ramanujan's sum $${\sum\limits_{n=-{{\infty}}}^{{\infty}}}{\frac{(a;q)_n}{(b;q)_n}}z^n$$.
