The purpose of this study is to find out the characteristics of users'behavior for the planning of the shared community space(SCS). It was analyzed and estimated that the present status of the SCS of the contemporary multi-family housing sites in Korea and the residents'behavior in the SCS. Theoretic investigation and empirical research methods were used in this study. The empirical survey focused on seeking out user-oriented design criteria, based on the analysis of residents'usage behavior for the SCS. The analysis was made by both quantitative and qualitative methods. The results of this study are as follows; First, as to the usage status survey for the SCS, there is a difference in the degree of usage according to their locations. Second, as to the analysis of the SCS through a mental map, the sketch map analysis is found to be a useful research method for the SCS planning by actualizing the residents'behavior characteristics. In detail, the main characteristics in the SCS planning are nearness, centrality, intimacy, combination of facilities and the connection with the main paths of the complex.

The purpose of this study is to accumulate basic data to establish planning direction of the environment-friendly remodeling through residents' consciousness in apartment Housing. The results are as follows : 1)More than half of residents thought remodeling is influential in decreasing of environmental pollution. 2) The important planning factors of the environment-friendly remodeling appear saving-energy, increasing health & amenity, coping with the change of population & society.

This study prepared the list of planning components required for constructing environment-friendly industrial complex and grasped major environment-friendly planning components by measuring the importance per each planning component via the survey for specialists. As a result of measuring the importance of planning component according to each field for constructing environment-friendly industrial complex, it is indicated that important planning components in natural environment field are establishing complex location plan considering its configuration and slope, excluding projects for steep slope-land, establishing countermeasures for reducing contaminants per its source, and separated location of contamination industry around living space. In living environment field, proposed planning components having relatively high importance are separated location of pollution causing industry, establishing energy saving land use plan, linking with green way, circulation network plan, lowering noise level at roadside, plan for separating between pedestrian and vehicle, securing parking space, extending green park and proper location, installing green buffer zone, conserving and forming landscapes, land use for raising energy efficiency, and expansion of energy source. In case of ecological environment, core planning components such as conserving upper class of ecological naturality degree, conserving main habitat, and biotope forming plan are suggested. This study is limited to find out planning components for constructing environment-friendly physical environment of industrial complex which is a part of non-production process. The approach to solve environmental problem by linking spatially production process and non-production process. There is a need to conduct follow-up study to constructing technique for environment-friendly industrial complex considering production & nonproduction process afterward.

Korea is having entered the Ageing Society since 2000 and expected to be the Aged Society by 2019. Proliferation of the nuclear families, attitude shift of supporting the senior people and higher participation of married women in public life as well as the steadily increasing senior population have caused the need for development of the facilities or housings for the senior people. This study is based on the assumption that the congregate housing as one of the options for those senior people who are healthy enough do not need the nursing home. For the questionnaire survey, the preference of 500 Korean pre-senior people on spatial planning elements of units for the senior congregate housing was investigated. The collected data are analysed using SPSS 10.0 for Windows to deduce frequency, percentage, average, Chi-squared test with cross-tabulations. The results of this study were as follows; Most of respondents preferred to the size of 11-15pyung(for single), 21-25pyung(for couple). The type of spatial composition was preferred one-room type(for single), 1-2 bedroom type with kitchen (for couple). And they preferred L/DK type. Also, they preferred furnished units not to bring their own furniture when relocating to the senior congregate housing, which was somewhat different result from previous studies. There were significant differences between preferred spatial planning elements and gender, income, and level of education.

This study aims to propose alternatives to improve the residential environmental of National Rental Housing for Elderly. To proceed the study, we draw elements of plan for apartment housing for Elderly through literature review, explore actual conditions of residential environment on National Rental Housing for Elderly in Ha-dong, Kim-Jae, do IPA analysis using survey data, and finally, propose prior alternatives for the improvement of National Rental Housing for Elderly based on IPA analysis results. In the results, a lot of the planning elements of apartment housing for Elderly was applied for this site. But living conditions of residents need to be improved based on the result that importance (3.55) is higher than performance (3.18). this study is critical in drawing the direction of plan and improvement alternative by surveying actual residents, and will be used as the source for the National Rental Housing for Elderly project.

This study examined details and characteristics of prizewinning plans of housing competition promoted by korean architects group in 1946. The competition were held for the first since Liberation of Korea, and had practical purpose to construct houses to solve severe shortage of housing. This study found common trends of housing plan by prizewinning architects, analyzing architectural characteristics of prizewinning plans. Architects pursued western style living for renewed living conditions of people, planning precedent houses to put reception room at the heart of dwelling spaces and centralize them using entrance hall or corridor for traffic lines. Also, they arranged reception room and family room facing to the south and placed lavatory or bathroom inside of houses for hygiene. Kitchens were finished with wooden floor to keep same level of reception room and equipped with sink, kitchen table, pantry for convenient housekeeping. The result of competition become a basis of constructing houses by housing administration in 1947, and more important foundation for planning typical public houses of national housing corporation.

The purpose of this study is to provide the planning device of outdoor environment of housing area for children. This study was accomplished the analyzation of opinion and preference of 230 children, elementary school students in Daegu. The contents of survey included the general items of children, the characteristics of outdoor activities, and the opinion & preference about outdoor space of housing area. And the survey of children's preference was used the 5 Likert scale. The conclusion of this study are as follows : First, generally, the design guidelines of housing area were provided to adult user, but the guidelines for children are limited at play space and park. So, the design guidelines of housing area must be provided by the children's opinion, pointment, and dissatisfaction. Second, children have the definite opinion and can point the preference about the outdoor space of housing area. So, children's opinion can not be bypassed in the process for planning of housing area. Third, children prefer the outdoor space that was furnished the facilities for convenience of the children's outdoor activities. So, exiting guideline of the outdoor space of housing area must improve to children.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the housing unit and investigate needs of housing in Home Economics curriculum of Home Economics teachers. The questionnaire survey was conducted 98 teachers participated in the minor training course in Chungbuk, August of 2000. When the teachers made their class in the section of housing, they emphasized respectively as the textual order: the space of housing and family life, the utilization of space, clean of residing circumstance in the middle school: and in the high school there was also concerned to the textual order: choice of housing, the house planning, interior design, maintenance of house. The teachers focused into the arrange of furniture and interior design for the students in the class, drawing of a plan in the contents of practical experience and performance. According to the survey results, the main point of class in housing should be emphasized the arranging of own room and function of other spaces in house for the students in the middle school. The high school curriculum should focus on the practical area to connect with the interior design. And in the section of housing it was needed to add the contents of management in the multi-family housing, housing problems, neighborhood environment for elderly, and also community planning.
