Objectives : The treatment of Bell's palsy must be divided into three states(acute, subacute and healing state). 41 cases of the patient suffering from Bell's palsy were treated and observed from january 2000 to July 2001. The usage of herbal acupunctures on that disease have been effective. So I propose a method of herbal acupunctures on Bell's palsy. Methods : By the states(acute, subacute and healing state) of Bell's palsy, SY(消炎) herbal acupuncture is used at the acute state, Hominis Placenta(紫河車) at the subacute, JGH(中氣下陷) at the healing state. Results : 1. At the acute state, SY(消炎) herbal acupuncture is effective to postauricular pain. 2. At the subacute state, Hominis Placenta(紫河車) herbal acupuncture is effective to decreasing pain and improving symptoms. 3. By the states(acute, subacute and healing state) of Bell's palsy, SY(消炎), Hominis Placenta(紫河車) and JGH(中氣下陷) herbal acupuncture is effective to improving symptoms of Bell's palsy.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report the clinical effects of Hominis Placenta Pharmacopunture(HPP) on Vertigo. Methods : A 82-year-old female patient whose chief complaint was Vertigo was treated with Placenta Pharmacopunture at CV6 and GB21, twelves times for a month. Acupuncture and herbal medicine were added depending on the symptoms. Laboratory test was taken and Korean Version of Dizziness Handicap Inventory was examined before and after each treatment. Results : After the treatments, the symptoms were improved. Conclusions : Hominis Placenta Pharmacopuncture may be an efficacious therapy for Iron Deficiency Anemia.

This report was done to observe the effect of Hominis placenta herbal acupuncture on Bell's palsy. The study group comprised 16 patients who arrived at Woo-suk university oriental hospital from January, 1999 till January, 2000 for Bell's palsy. All patients were divided into two group. One was herbal acupunture group, and the other was control group. Acupunture group was done herbal acupuncture therapy on the facial acupuncture points. Followings are achievement and a term of each group. In herbal acupuncture group, 100% motor recovery was 7 case, 75% was 1 case, and 25% motor recovery term was $7.38{\pm}5.21$ days, 50% was $11.00{\pm}6.16$ days, 75% was $15.13{\pm}9.55$ days, 100% was $23.14{\pm}7.97$ days. In control group, 100% motor recovery was 4 case, 75% was 2 case, 25% below was 2 case and 25% motor recovery term was $11.17{\pm}4.96$days, 50% was $18.17{\pm}6.82$ days, 75% was $29.50{\pm}6.95$ days, 100% was $44.00{\pm}11.49$ days. The above results indicate that Hominis placenta herbal acupuncture is a useful effect on Bell's palsy. thus, continuous herbal acupunture study will be needed for more clinical application on Bell' palsy.

Purpose : The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of Hominis Placenta Herbal Acupuncture(HPA) combined with Acupuncture compared with Acupuncture therapy. Methods : Data was collected from October 1st 2004 to February 28th 2005. A total of 8 women participated in this study. Of all subjects, 4 and 4 subjects were assigned to the experimental and the control group respectively. Subjects were treated three times a week. We used Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) for evaluating the effects of HPA. Results : There showed statistically boardline significance between the experimental group and control group(p=0.057). Conclusion : The results showed HPA has significant effects on menstrual cramps.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to report the clinical effects of Korean medical treatment on the patient with cervical radiculopathy. Methods: A 16-year-old female patient, who was suffering from the cervical radiculopathy on her Lt. shoulder: ROM limit, swelling and arthralgia, was treated by herbal medicine, physical therapy, acupuncture and pharmacupuncture. Results: As a result, the patient's left upper limb disability was improved by Korean herbal medicine (ssanghwatang hap gamiseokyungtang), hominis placenta (Ja-ha-geou) pharmacupuncture and physical therapy. Conclusions This study showed that Korean medical treatments can be an effective choice for cervical radiculopathy.

There were 26 Bell's palsy cases at the Jecheon Hospital of Korean medicine, Semyung University from February 1, 2019, to February 28, 2021 reviewed. One group (A group) was treated with Bamboo salt pharmacopuncture and cervi cornu parvum pharmacopuncture (CC) pharmacopuncture in the paralyzed side of the face, and the other (B group) group was treated with Soyum pharmacopuncture, and hominis placenta (HP) pharmacopuncture. Amid a paucity of studies that have used bamboo salt and CC pharmacopuncture to treat Bell's palsy, this study aimed to demonstrate possibility of treatment effect on Bell's palsy. In addition, this study was to see if the effect of determine a change in pharmacopuncture was changed according to the progress of Bell's palsy symptoms was effective. Bell's palsy was improved in each group. Altough there were no significant differences in improvement between two groups, Bamboo salt pharmacopuncture and CC pharmacopuncture could be expected to be effective on the paralyzed face. Furthermore, it is effective to switch pharmacopuncture according to the progress of Bell's palsy.

Objectives : The aim of this study is to report a case of idiopathic oculomotor nerve palsy improved by Korean Medicine therapy including needle-embedding therapy. Methods : We treated a 69-year old male patient who has Rt. ptosis, Rt. eye movement impairment, and dizziness with various Korean medical therapy including acupuncture, Bojungikgitanggami, and Hominis Placenta pharmacopuncture. To promote recovery, we additionally performed needle-embedding therapy to periocular acupoints. Results : Ptosis started to remarkably improve after performing needle-embedding therapy. After 54 days of treatment, ptosis and eye movement impairment of Rt. eye were significantly improved similar to the normal eye. Dizziness was cured in a few days after administration. Conclusions : This case suggests Korean medicine including needle-embedding therapy is effective against oculomotor nerve palsy symptoms especially for ptosis.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to research the trend related to pharmacopuncture for insomnia in China for further development of pharmacopuncture in Korea. Methods: This study reviewed and analyzed 21 Chinese journals related to pharmacopuncture 2013~2019 sourced with the following keywords in the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI). 'Shimian', 'Wuewei zhushe', 'Shuizhen', 'Xuewei yaowu zhushe', 'Yaowu xuewei zhushe', 'Xuewei zhuyao', 'Xuezhu', and 'Xueweiyaowu zhuru'. Results: The following results were obtained in this study. 1. A total of 21 papers were selected, comprised of clinical research and case reports. 2. Pharmacopuncture was often used for insomnia, and as the medicine of injection, Salvia, Gastrodin, Acanthopanax, Hominis Placenta, Qingkailing, Shenmai, Bozhi Glycopeptide, Fufang Danggui, Vitamin B12, and Chlorpromazine Hydrochloride were used. 3. In combined treatments, acupuncture, chiropractic, auricular sticking, and herbal medicine were used. 4. It was more effective compared to conservational acupuncture therapy. Conclusions: It was established that they have efficiency to treat insomnia with pharmacopuncture in China, but there were limitations in this study, so we need more research to identify new medicines for neuropsychiatric diseases.
