The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of socioeconomic status on the eating-out satisfaction, eating-out expenditure, meal balance and dietary attitude of 251 married females in Youngnam Area. The monthly frequency of eating out with family was 2.5 visits with an expenditure of 116,000 won in this study. Korean food was the most frequently selected type of board for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The respondents satisfied with the taste of the food the most, whereas least satisfied with the sanitation. The average expenditure for eating-out was 62,000 won per visit with the average of 39,000 won in the lowest income group and 78,000 won in the highest one. Regarding the meal balance score, the overall score was 3.48 with the lowest score(2.98) being recorded for the dairy products and the highest score(3.95) for vegetables. As for the dietary attitude score, breakfast scored the highest(3.79) and consideration of balanced workload, exercise, rest and dining activities received the lowest score(2.57). Meal balance and attitude scores were not significantly different among the eating-out expenditure levels. The eating-out expenditure demonstrated a positive correlation with total food expenditures, household income, educational attainment and others. The low income group who had low meal balance scores and dietary attitude scores tended to spend proportionally more on eating-out. In conclusion, the studies revealed that the respondents favored the Korean food and did not satisfied with the sanitation most when eating-out. In terms of eating-out expenses, the group with the highest income and educational attainment spent the most on eating-out and food expenditures.

Objectives: Osteoporosis is the most common metabolic disease of the bone, and is one of the most important major public health problems world wide. It is more occurred in female than male, but as the osteoporosis of men is increasing, therefore bone fractures of men are increasing. So we investigated the factors which are related to Bone Mineral Density(BMD) of male for prevention of osteoporosis. Methods: We measured the Bone Mineral Density(BMD) of lumbar spine($L_2$-$L_4$) and femoral neck in 5198 male, using dual energy X-ray absorptionmetry(DEXA; DPX-alpha). And then we analysed the 8 factors - age group, bone mass index(BMI), amount of smoking, drinking, exercise, and fast blood sugar, gastric disease, thyroid disease - which are related to BMD of male. Results: 1. In age group according to ${\ll}$Hwangjaenaekyong Somun, 黃帝內徑 素問${\gg}$, T-score was the highest at 17-24(三八歲) years group and decreased rapidly after 57-64(八八歲) years group in both lumbar spine($L_2$-$L_4$) and femoral neck. Therefore we concluded that T-score of male in lumbar spine($L_2$-$L_4$) and femoral neck change according to age group in ${\ll}$Hwangjaenaekyong Somun, 黃帝內徑 素問${\gg}$. 2. In BMI(body mass index), T-score of lumbar spine($L_2$-$L_4$) and femoral neck were the highest in obese group than non-obese group. In comparison of age group according to BMI, T-score of lumbar spine($L_2$-$L_4$) was significant difference in 17-72 years group and T-score of femoral neck was in 25-72 years group. 3. In exercise, T-score of lumbar spine($L_2$-$L_4$) and femoral neck was increasing as exercising more. In comparison of age group according to exercise, Both T -score of lumbar spine and femoral neck were significant difference in 25-72 years old. 4. T-score of lumbar spine($L_2$-$L_4$) was the highest in men who have taken exercise daily, and T-score of femoral neck was the highest in men who have taken exercise 1-3 times for a week. Conclusions : The age group in ${\ll}$Hwangjaenaekyong Somun, 黃帝內徑 素問${\gg}$ is related to BMD of men. And risk factors - BMI, exercise - are related to BMD of men. Therefore we expect that this study will help for prevention of osteoporosis of men.
Objectives: To evaluate stress patterns and coping abilities in women with infertility by conducting in-depth interviews. Methods: Ten women with infertility who visited the Korean Medicine Hospital and provided consent after being informed of the purpose and method of the study were selected after meeting the inclusion/exclusion criteria. They were requested to complete a preliminary questionnaire developed by the researchers, the Infertility Stress Scale, and the Korean version of the Fertility Problem Inventory (FPI). Subsequently, each participant was interviewed individually. Results: The preliminary questionnaire was used to evaluate sensitivity to each type of infertility-related stress and ability to express and resolve it. Among all infertility stress types, the largest proportion, accounting for an average of 47.5±26.95%, was that felt by the patient herself. Considering stress awareness intensity, the stress felt by the patient was the highest, with an average score of 4.30±0.64. Relative stress sensitivity due to infertility was the highest, with an average score of 3.90±0.94. Compared with general work stress, the average ability to relieve stress related to problems with spouses was the highest, with a score of 2.50±1.20. The average Infertility Stress Scale score was 2.88±1.35 and FPI score was 2.87±2.52. Conclusions: The highest stress scores were observed for the following items: meaning of children, need for parenthood, and stress due to the diagnosis of infertility. The lowest stress scores were allocated to the item concerning relationships with friends and co-workers. Based on the in-depth interviews conducted after the survey, stress in women with infertility may be classified as emotional, physical, and economic. Thus, the requirement for providing appropriate psychological and emotional support depending on the stress type in addition to general medical treatment for infertility treatment was confirmed.
The purpose of this study was to identify the perception of nurse experts on the contribution of nursing interventions to Nursing Outcomes Classification NOC nursing outcomes. A nursing outcome is a nursing-sensitive patient outcome primarily affected by nursing interventions. As one of the standardized language systems of nursing outcomes, the NOC must be examined for applicability before it is used in Korea. Data were collected in February and March 2003 using a 5-point Likert scale. For data collection, 230 quality improvement (QI) or quality assurance (QA) nurses from general hospitals in Korea were asked to rate the extent that nursing interventions contribute to each of the NOC nursing outcomes (2000) in their hospitals. Ninety-six nurses from 63 hospitals responded and the response rate was $41.7\%$. Mean scores for perception of contribution of nursing interventions to each of the NOC nursing outcomes ranged from 2.18 to 4.54. Vital Signs Status had the highest score (M = 4.54), and Abuse Recovery: Financial, the lowest score (M = 2.18). Of the seven NOC domains, the mean score was highest for Physiologic Health (M = 3.91) and lowest for Community Health (M = 2.92). Of the 29 NOC classes, the mean score for perceived contribution was highest for Metabolic Regulation (M = 4.32) and lowest for Community Well-Being (M = 2.92). Participants perceived that nursing interventions in general hospitals in Korea contributed, at least to a certain extent, to most of the NOC nursing outcomes. Based on these results, NOC should have relatively good applicability in Korea.
