  • The homotopy analysis method (HAM) has been applied to develop an analytic solution for the coupled radiation-convection dissipative non-gray gas flow in a non-Darcy porous medium. Results are presented for the surface shear and temperature profiles are presented to illustrate the effect of various parameters appearing in the analytical formulation. The accuracy and convergence of the method is also discussed.

  • In this article, we establish some fixed point results in G-metric spaces using the modified JS-G-contractions and we provide some suitable examples to support the results. Also, we give an application to solve an integral equation.

  • The main goal for this paper is consider the necessary conditions and sufficient conditions of wavelet frames in higher dimensions with an arbitrary expanding matrix dilation. At first, we give a necessary condition of wavelet frame in $L^2(R^n)$, which generalizes the univariate results of Shi from one dimension with an arbitrary real number a(a > 1) dilation to higher dimension with an arbitrary expansive matrix dilation. Secondly, we deduce a necessary condition for wavelet frames in $L^2(R^n)$ when the function $\psi$ satisfies some property of the decay. For the case n = 1, we obtain a corollary which has weaker condition comparing with existing result.

  • Objectives: To identify factors responsible for potentially clinically unnecessary cervical cancer screenings in women with prior hysterectomy. Methods: A retrospective cross-sectional study was conducted using the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS). This study targeted adult women and examined whether they received a both a Papanicolaou (Pap) test and undergone a hysterectomy in the last three years. We conducted multivariate analyses, including weighted proportions and odds ratios (ORs), based on the modified BRFSS weighting method (raking). The inclusion criteria were adult women (>18 years old) who reported having received a Pap test within the last 3 years. Results: Of all women (n=252 391), 72 366 had received a Pap test, and 32 935 of those women (45%, or 12.5 million, weighted) had a prior hysterectomy. We found that age, race/ethnicity, marital status, family income, health status, time since last routine checkup, and health insurance coverage were all significant predictors. Black, non-Hispanic women were 2.23 times more likely to receive Pap testing after a hysterectomy than white women (OR, 2.23; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.99 to 2.50). Similarly, the odds for Hispanic women were 2.34 times higher (OR, 2.34; 95% CI, 1.97 to 2.80). The odds were also higher for those who were married (OR, 1.17; 95% CI, 1.08 to 1.27), healthier (OR, 1.24; 95% CI, 1.14 to 1.35), and had health insurance (OR, 1.54; 95% CI, 1.28 to 1.84), after controlling for confounders. Conclusions: We conclude that women may potentially receive Pap tests even if they are not at risk for cervical cancer, and may not be adequately informed about the need for screenings. We recommend strategies to disseminate recommendations and information to patients, their families, and care providers.

  • DNA microarray and next-generation sequencing provide data that can be used for the genetic analysis of multiple quantitative traits such as gene expression levels, transcription factor binding profiles, and epigenetic signatures. In particular, chromatin opening is tightly coupled with gene transcription. To understand how these two processes are genetically regulated and associated with each other, we examined the changes of chromatin accessibility and gene expression in response to genetic variation by means of quantitative trait loci mapping. Regulatory patterns commonly observed in yeast and human across different technical platforms and experimental designs suggest a higher genetic complexity of transcription regulation in contrast to a more robust genetic architecture of chromatin regulation.

  • Accurately identifying brain tumors is crucial for medical imaging's precise diagnosis and treatment planning. This study presents a novel approach that uses cutting-edge image processing techniques to automatically segment brain tumors. with the use of the Pyramid Network algorithm. This technique accurately and robustly delineates tumor borders in MRI images. Our strategy incorporates special algorithms that efficiently address problems such as tumor heterogeneity and size and shape fluctuations. An assessment using the RESECT Dataset confirms the validity and reliability of the method and yields promising results in terms of accuracy and computing efficiency. This method has a great deal of promise to help physicians accurately identify tumors and assess the efficacy of treatments, which could lead to higher standards of care in the field of neuro-oncology.

  • In this paper, we investigate the global behavior of the solutions of the difference equation $x_{n+1}=\frac{A+Bx_{n-2k-1}}{C+D\prod_{i=l}^{k}x_{n-2i}^{m_i}}$, n=0, 1, ..., with non-negative initial conditions, the parameters A, B are non-negative real numbers, C, D are positive real numbers, k, l are fixed non-negative integers such that l ≤ k, and mi, i=l, k are positive integers.

  • The asymptotic behavior of solutions of higher order differential equations with deviating argument $$(py^{(n-1)}(t))'\;+\;\sum\limits_{i=1}^{n-1}ci(t)y^{(i-1)}(t)\;=\;f\[t,\;y(t),\;y'(t),\;{\ldots},\;y^{(n-1)}(t),\;y(\phi(t)),\;y'(\phi(t)),\;{\ldots},\;y^{(n-1)}\;(\phi(t))\]\;\;\;\;(1)$$ $t\;{\in}\;[0,\;\infty)$ is studied. Our technique depends on an integral inequality containing a deviating argument. From this we obtain some sufficient conditions under which all solutions of Eq.(1) have some asymptotic behavior.
