TNAZ is a high explosive material because it is a highly strained ring compound containing one nitramine and gem dinditro groups. 1-t-butyl-3-nitroazetidine which was used as an intermediate previously, which declined the overall yield in synthesizing TNAZ. We obtained 1-t-butyl-3-hydroxymethyl-3-nitroazetidine in 64% yield from advances process which was used in synthesis of 1-t-butyl-3-nitroazetidine. The reaction pathway, shortening of reaction time, together with improvement of yield were studied too. We have obtained TNAZ in 85% yield.
Pinosylvin, a stilbenoid phytoalexin, is a health ingredient to be extracted from pine leaves. In this study, ultrasonication-assisted extraction process for manufacturing extracts with high content of pinosylvin from pine leaves was investigated. As process and system variables, ultrasonic power, sonication time and solvent ratio were selected. According to the experimental results, the effective yield of pinosylvin increased with the increase of ultrasonic power and sonication time and the decrease of solvent ratio. When the ultrasonic power of 2400 W/L was added to the solution of pulverized pine leaves of 8 g per 1 L of a solvent for 10 minutes, yield of extracts and purity, effective yield and concentration ratio of pinosylvin were 0.3166 g/g, 0.7247 mg/g, 0.2294 mg/g and 23.0, respectively.
Fig. 8 summarizes the present status of high yield pulp production and the directions of research on modification. A thick line indicates pulping process presently in use. As mentioned previously, one kind of modification is to introduce hydrophilic groups onto the pulp. Still unsolved is whether or not the introduction of hydrophilic groups should be restricted to lignin only. Goring (28) reported that middle lamella lignin has fewer phenolic hydroxyl groups than cell wall lignin and suggested that such a difference in the lignin may be useful in the removal of middle lamella lignin. The introduction of hydrophilic groups onto pulp may not be enough to modify high yield pulp. The removal of some portion of carbohydrate may be also necessary from the standpoint of softening of pulp fibers. There is no information at what lignin and carbohydrate, and how much should be removed. The combination with synthetic high polymers may also be important in modifying high yield pulp. Prof. C. Schuerch of the State University of New York who was a visiting professor at the University of Tokyo in 1974, mentioned that the hydrophilicity of lignin would be promoted, if phenolic hydroxyl or carboxyl groups could be introduced into the aromatic nucleus of lignin. If this were possible. this process would also mean a pulp yield of more than 100%. This idea is just one example of the expectation made possible through lignin chemistry. Instead of the introduction of hydrophilic group, the oxidative degradation of aromatic nucleus of lignin may also be useful in promoting the hydrophilicity of pulp. In this case, ozone may be an excellent chemical. However, there are a lot of problems to be solved such as homogeneity of reaction and selectivity of ozone for lignin. The above ideas are summarized in Fig. 9. There are many problems to be solved in the production of an excellent high yield pulp which is comparable to chemical pulp. The information from wood chemistry hopefully will elucidate some of the problems mentioned above.
Face the process yield rate improvements of motherboard, although general enterprises finish deployment goal of each functions by overall quality managements, through quality improvement methods, industry engineering methods, plan-do-check-act (PDCA) methods and other improvement solutions, but it is only can be improved partially and unable to enhance the yield rate of product to the target. It only can takes one step ahead to enhance the process yield rate of motherboard with six sigma ($6{\sigma}$) overall DMAIC process and tactics. This research aimed to use six sigma quality improvement tactics by DMAIC systematic procedure and tactics, and find the key factors that effect to the process yield rate of surface mount technology. It also identified the keys input and process and output index to satisfy customer requirements and internal process index. The results showed that the major effective factors by fishbone and process failure modes and effects analysis (PFMEA). If the index of input and output that can be quantified, the optimum parameter can be found through design of experiment to ensure that the process is stable. If the factor of input and output that cannot be quantified, we found out the effective countermeasure by Mind_Mapping, make sure whole processes can be controlled stably, to reach the high product quality and enhance the customer satisfaction.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to propose an optimization process to improve product yield in the process using process data. Recently, research for low-cost and high-efficiency production in the manufacturing process using machine learning or deep learning has continued. Therefore, this study derives major variables that affect product defects in the manufacturing process using eXplainable Artificial Intelligence(XAI) method. After that, the optimal range of the variables is presented to propose a methodology for improving product yield. Methods: This study is conducted using the injection molding machine AI dataset released on the Korea AI Manufacturing Platform(KAMP) organized by KAIST. Using the XAI-based SHAP method, major variables affecting product defects are extracted from each process data. XGBoost and LightGBM were used as learning algorithms, 5-6 variables are extracted as the main process variables for the injection process. Subsequently, the optimal control range of each process variable is presented using the ICE method. Finally, the product yield improvement methodology of this study is proposed through a validation process using Test Data. Results: The results of this study are as follows. In the injection process data, it was confirmed that XGBoost had an improvement defect rate of 0.21% and LightGBM had an improvement defect rate of 0.29%, which were improved by 0.79%p and 0.71%p, respectively, compared to the existing defect rate of 1.00%. Conclusion: This study is a case study. A research methodology was proposed in the injection process, and it was confirmed that the product yield was improved through verification.

A welding neck flange is widely used for an interconnection between pipes. It is produced by a hot forging process, and required high yield strength under the high pressure condition, like a deep-sea. Generally, to increase yield strength, a increasing of carbon content is used, however a carbon content of welding neck flange is limited to 0.47. So, in this study, a strengthening by grain refinement without changing carbon content is used to increase yield strength. Taguchi method and FEM are used for the optimization of forging process and the experiment for the yield strength of the prototype with the optimal forging process is performed for validity.

A new process for the synthesis of polyphenylcarbosilane (PPCS) via thermal rearrangement of polymethylphenylsilane (PMPS) in supercritical cyclohexane was proposed and investigated at reaction temperatures of $380-420^{\circ}C$, reaction times of 1-2 h, and a pressure of 15 MPa. The structure, molecular weight, and molecular weight distribution of the product were characterized by FT-IR, Si-NMR, and GPC. The ceramic yield was also measured by TGA analysis. High-quality PPCS with high molecular weight and ceramic yield can be synthesized via a supercritical process. Furthermore, this process, when compared to the conventional method, tends to moderate the reaction conditions such as reaction temperature and time. It is concluded that thermal rearrangement in supercritical fluid is an efficient and viable process in terms of the resulting yield, efficiency, and reaction time compared with those of the conventional PCS production process.

This study was performed to enhance anticancer activities of Lithospermum erythrorhizon by eluting high amount of shikonin through ultra high pressure process. Extraction yield was increased up to 5~10% by ultra high pressure process, compare to the normal extraction processes such as water solvent extraction, 70% ethyl alcohol solvent extraction. The cytotoxicity of the extracts ($1.0{\mu}g/m{\ell}$) from ultra high pressure process was showed the lowest cytotoxicity 13.4% for human lung cell (HEL299). The anticancer activities showed 80~85% by adding $1.0{\mu}g/m{\ell}$ of the extracts from ultra high pressure process in several cancer cell lines such as AGS, Hep3B, MCF-7 and HeLa cells. Among them, MCF-7 cell of the endocrine system was highest inhibited than other cells. The anticancer activities of the extracts from ultra high pressure extraction process showed 10~15%, which was higher than the extracts from normal extraction processes. From HPLC analysis of the extracts, the contents of shikonin in the extracts from ultra high pressure process was 11.42% (w/w), which was 20% higher than others. This results indicate that ultra high pressure process could increase the extraction yield of shikonin and other contents, which resulted in higher anticancer activities.

Chemical mechanical polishing(CMP) process is widely used for global planarization of inter-metal dielectric (IMD) layer and inter-layer dielectric (ILD) for deep sub-micron technology. However, as the IMD and ILD layer gets thinner, defects such as micro-scratch lead to severe circuit failure, which affect yield. In this paper, for the improvement of CMP Process, deionized water (DIW) pressure, purified $N_2$ (P$N_2$) gas, slurry filter and high spray bar were installed. Our experimental results show that DIW pressure and P$N_2$ gas factors were not related with removal rate, but edge hot-spot of patterned wafer had a serious relation. Also, the filter installation in CMP polisher could reduce defects after CMP process, it is shown that slurry filter plays an important role in determining consumable pad lifetime. The filter lifetime is dominated by the defects. However, the slurry filter is impossible to prevent defect-causing particles perfectly. Thus, we suggest that it is necessary to install the high spray bar of de-ionized water (DIW) with high pressure, to overcome the weak-point of slurry filter. Finally, we could expect the improvements of throughput, yield and stability in the ULSI fabrication process.
