Effects of Sputtering Pressure on the Properties of BaTiO3 Films for High Energy Density Capacitors

  • Flexible $BaTiO_3$ films as dielectric materials for high energy density capacitors were deposited on polyethylene terephthalate (PET) substrates by r.f. magnetron sputtering. The growth behavior, microstructure and electrical properties of the flexible $BaTiO_3$ films were dependent on the sputtering pressure during sputtering. The RMS roughness and crystallite size of the $BaTiO_3$ increased with increasing sputtering pressure. All $BaTiO_3$ films had an amorphous structure, regardless of the sputtering pressures, due to the low PET substrate temperature. The composition of films showed an atomic ratio (Ba:Ti:O) of 0.9:1.1:3. The electrical properties of the $BaTiO_3$ films were affected by the microstructure and roughness. The $BaTiO_3$ films prepared at 100 mTorr exhibited a dielectric constant of ~80 at 1 kHz and a leakage current of $10^{-8}A$ at 400 kV/cm. Also, films showed polarization of $8{\mu}C/cm^2$ at 100 kV/cm and remnant polarization ($P_r$) of $2{\mu}C/cm^2$. This suggests that sputter deposited flexible $BaTiO_3$ films are a promising dielectric that can be used in high energy density capacitors owing to their high dielectric constant, low leakage current and stable preparation by sputtering.

  • An electron beam was used to mainly utilize for polishing, finishing, welding, a lithography process, etc. Due to the high technical level of difficulty of high-power density electron beam, it is difficult to secure related technologies. In this study, research was carried out to improve the machinability by developing the vaporized amplification sheets to realize the electron beam drilling technology. Their vaporized amplification sheets were analyzed by using the measurement of chemical and composition, which is such as TGA, SEM. We analyzed micro-hole processing using a microscope. Also, the thermal characteristics of vaporized amplification sheets are highly significant for applying to high-power density electron beam technique. So, we finished the vaporized amplification sheets according to the process conditions and analyzed it according to the machining conditions of the electron beam. It was confirmed that the effect on the experimental results differs depending on the influence of the metal powder contained in the developed material.

도시단독주택지 저층고밀형 집합주택 모델의 적용에 관한 연구 - 우이동 국민주택단지를 대상으로 - (A Study on the Application of Low-Rise and High-Density Multiple Dwelling Housing Model in Urban Individual Residential Area - Focused on Ui-dong Public Detached Housing Area -)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the indiscriminate development occuring as a result of high-density land use per lot in residential areas of Seoul, which mainly consist of detached houses. The primary goals of this study were: (1) to suggest a block unit development method as an alternative architectural method of the current uniform development, in which high-rise and high-density apartments are usually built; and (2) to check the feasibility of the suggested method. Based on the analyses of the existing block composition types of residential areas, the prerequisite planning indices for applying a collective housing model were investigated. Subsequent to applying a collective housing type within each unit block, the collective housing model was analyzed. The results of the analyses showed that indiscriminate development was rampant in detached urban houses areas, and more than 70% of the buildings constructed before the 1980s needed re-development. The feasibility of the models was investigated depending on the models of low-rise and high-density collective housing, which utilize various block arrangements such as the court type, linear type, villa type, and composite type. The results of this study showed that the newly applied low-rise and highdensity multiple dwelling housing model in urban individual residential area significantly contributed to creating a good living environment in terms of both physical and psychological aspects.

발효옻 추출물이 흰쥐의 식이성 고지혈증에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Fermented Rhus Verniciflua Stokes Extract on Diet-induced Hyperlipidemia in Rats)

  • This study was designed to investigate the antihyperlipidemic activity of Fermented Rhus Verniciflua Stokes Extract(FRVSE) on diet-induced hyperlipidemia in rats. The animals were divided into 4 groups of the normal group(fed with normal diet), control group(fed with high fat diet), sample A group(fed with high fat diet and medicated FRVSE 192 ㎎/㎏/day), sample B group(fed with high fat diet and medicated FRVSE 384 ㎎/㎏/day), and received oral administration of each prescription with diet for a period of six weeks. The changes in the body weight, the liver weight, the epididymal fat weight, and the plasma levels of total cholesterol, triglyceride(TG), high density lipoprotein(HDL) cholesterol and low density lipoprotein(LDL) cholesterol were measured. In sample A group, the weight of liver and plasma level of TG decreased significantly. There was a significant decrease in the plasma level of total cholesterol, TG and LDL cholesterol in the sample B group. These results suggest that the FRVSE have a good antihyperlipidemic activity and a potential to treat hyperlipidemia.

  • This paper describes the design theory of a weakly-coupled Tap-off with high density of coupling intervals for CATV and/or MATV systems, by which the degree of freedom in design and density of coupling intervals are significantly increased compared with the intrinsic one. It is also described how to construct the two-way divider (Tap-off) in the generalized type. Furthermore, the practical measurements of the frequency characteristics for a fabricated circuit show very good agreements with theoretical results.

  • Plasma processing plays a significant role in semiconductor devices technology. Development of new plasma systems, such as high-density plasma reactors, required development of plasma theory to understand a whole process mechanism and to be able to explain and to predict processing results. A most important task in this way is to establish interconnections between input process parameters (working gas, pressure flow rate input power density) and a various plasma subsystems (electron gas, volume and heterogeneous gas chemistry, transport), which are closely connected one with other. It will allow select optimal ways for processes optimizations.

  • In this paper, a synchronous permanent magnet planar motor (SPMPM) with Halbach array is proposed for its high energy density. The magnetization and flux density distribution are obtainedby magnet scalar potential the characteristics such as inductance, back-EMF and thrust are evaluated. It can be concluded that the analysis of SPMPM with Halbach magnet array is credible and feasible.

  • The dispersion relation and the characteristic of propagation are measured. The measurements of the dispersion relation are observed by a plunger method employed in slow plasma density by pumping microwaves on the axis are observed in plasma loaded slow wave structure. In case of small incident microwave powers the well known plasma density cavity are observed. At the axial positions of minimal radius in the waveguides, the maxima og the electron density, the plasma potential and the RF electric field are observed in cases of high-power microwaves.

Pulse-Grouping Control Method for High power Density DC/DC Converters

  • The proposed method offers an improved DC/DC converter scheme to increase power density. It is based on half-bridge topology with newly introduced pulse-grouping control method, which helps to reduce the transformer size and the volume of semiconductor devices maintaining high efficiency. Test results with 85W(18.5V/4.6A) design shows that the measured efficiency is 93.5% with power density of $36W/in^3$.
