This paper was studied fault possibility of glass insulator through the proper vibration and field vibration comparison. The proper vibration of 1 cell glass insulator have many frequency band and high amplitude showed in high frequency than low frequency. The field signal amplitude of viaduct and open route were biggest moment pantograph of high-speed rail. From the FFT analysis of viaduct and open route, in the case of positive direction, the strut tube insulator effect by vertical vibration was big, the frequency was 82.5Hz and 105Hz, respectively. However, in the case of negative direction, the vibration did not cause big effect. In comparison with the proper vibration of glass insulator, the resonance was not observed.
Modem technology depends on the reliability of extremely high technology equipments. In the production of semiconductor wafer, optical and electron microscopes, ion-beam, laser device must maintain their alignments within a sub-micrometer. This equipment requires a vibration free environment to provide its proper function. Especially, lithography and inspection devices, which have sub-nanometer class high accuracy and resolution, have come to necessity for producing more improved giga and tera class semiconductor wafers. This high technology equipments require very strict environmental vibration standard, vibration criteria, in proportion to the accuracy of the manufacturing, inspecting devices. The vibration criteria of high sensitive equipment should be represented in the form of 'exactness' and 'accuracy', because this is used as basic data for the design of building structure and structural dynamics of equipment. This paper deals with the properties of time and frequency domain in order to obtain more improved vibration criteria for high sensitive equipment.
Liquefied Natural Gas takes up six hundredths of the volume of natural gas, which makes storage and transportation much easier. To send out natural gas via a pipeline network across the nation, high pressure LNG pumps supply highly compressed LNG to high-pressure vaporization facilities. The Number of high Pressure LNG pumps determined the send out amount in LNG receiving terminal. So it is main equipment at LNG production process and should be maintained on best conditions. In this paper, to find out the cause of high beat vibration at cryogenic pumps, vibration and motor current analysis have been performed. And high beat vibration of cryogenic pumps could be reduced due to the modification of motor rotor.
High vibration of a low pressure (LP) turbine casing caused safety problems and life at the facility it was housed in. The main focus of this study was the cause of the high vibration in a low pressure turbine casing with manufacturing defects by frequency response analysis, compared with the results of experiments. Therefore, excited accelerations were obtained from the LP casing fundamental, and frequency responses were analyzed. The measurement and the modal analysis showed that the natural frequency of the LP turbine casing was 61.26 Hz and the excited frequency of the turbine rotor was 60.25 Hz. The manufacturing defect caused a decrease in the casing natural frequency and resulted in the high vibration of the casing because it moved close to the resonant frequency.
In this study, we designed an vibration cutting tool that can achieve improvements such as low cutting force, interrupted chip evacuation and better surface quality of cutting performance to obtain high-quality surface roughness and improvement of tool wear, which is an issue in the machining of high-hardness mold steel. Among the resonance frequency modes of the vibration cutting tool, the bending mode was used to maximize the driving amplitude of the vibration tool tip, and the resonance frequency was confirmed through the finite element method. After measuring the actual resonant frequency of the designed tool using an optical fiber sensor, the cutting force and machining surface of vibration cutting and conventional cutting were compared and analyzed in the turning process of high hardness mold steel (STAVAX). As a result of the experiment, the cutting force was reduced by about 20 % compared to the conventional cutting process, and the surface roughness was also improved by about 60 %. This study suggested that the tool wear and surface quality of high-hardness steel can be improved through the vibration cutting method in the machining of high hardness mold steel.
Vibration is a source of performance degradation in all optical imaging systems. Performance of high resolution remote sensing payloads is often limited due to satellite platform vibrations. Effects of Linear and high frequency sinusoidal vibrations on the system MTF are known exactly in closed form but the low frequency vibration effects is a random process and must be considered statistically. Usually the vibration MTF budget is defined based on the mission requirements and the overall MTF limitations. For analyzing low frequency effects, designer must know all the systems specifications and parameters. With a good understanding of harmful vibration frequencies and amplitudes in the system preliminary design phase, their effects could be removed totally or partially. This procedure is cost effective and let the designer to eliminate just harmful vibrations and avoids over-designing. In this paper we have analyzed the effects of low-frequency platform vibrations on the payload's modulation transfer function. We have used a statistical analysis to find the probability of imaging with a MTF equal or greater than a pre-defined budget for different missions. The worst and average cases have been discussed and finally we have proposed "look-up figures". Using these look-up figures, designer can choose the electro-optical parameters in such a way that vibration effects be less than its pre-defined budget. Furthermore, using the results, we can propose a damping profile based on which vibration frequencies and amplitudes must be eliminated to stabilize the payload system.
The aims of this study were first to determine the influence of vibration displacement amplitude $(200{\mu}m, 300{\mu}m peak-to-peak)$ at selected frequencies (40-200Hz) on a commonly observed but often undesired motor response elicited bylocal vibratory stimulation, the Tonic Vibration Reflex (TVR). Second, to determine the degree of synchronization of motor unit (MU) activity with vibratory stimuli. Vibration was applied to the distal tendons of the hand flexor muscles. Changes in root- mean-square electromyographic (EMG) activity of the finger and wrist flexor muscles were analyzed both as a function of their initial contraction level (0%, 10%, 20% of the maximal voluntarycontraction: MVC) and as a function of the vibration parameters. The results indicate that the TVR increased with the initial muscle contraction up to 10% MVC: The TVR increased with vibration frequency up to 100-150 Hz and decreases beyond; A significant increase of the TVR with vibration displacement amplitude was observed only for the wrist flexor muscle; MU synchronization at vibration frequency (VF) was found more often in the low frequency range $(f{\leq}100 Hz)$ and tended todecrease beyond; In the high frequency range $(f{\geq}120 Hz)$, MU activity at subharmonic frequency was predominant; The "cut-off" frequency of the synchronization with VF was neither affected by the vibration displacement amplitude nor initial muscle contraction level. The surface EMG turned out to be a useful means to analyze MU synchronization since it is noninvasive, and it can be easily used for analysis of different muscle contraction levels, while single MU technique might have some difficulties at high muscle contraction levels. Furthermore, these results indicate that high frequencyvibration (f>150 Hz) tends to induce less muscle/tendon stress and MU synchronization. Such remarks are of importance for the design of hand-held vibrating tools.ing tools.
This paper describes work on isolation of vibration related engine by a hydraulic engine mount with controllable area of inertia track. Automotive engine mounts are required to constrain motion of engine shake resulting from low-frequency road input of shock excitation and also to isolate noise and vibration generated by the engine with unbalanced disturbance at the high frequency range. The property of the mount depends on vibration amplitude and excitation frequency, which means that the excitation amplitude is large in low excitation frequency range and small in high frequency range. In this paper, theoretical works with model of the mount to reduce vibrations related engine were conducted. The volumetric stiffness of the mount is greatly changed according to the switching the area of the inertia track. Therefore, when the area of the inertia track is tuned, the transmissibility of the mount is effectively reduced.
In this paper, we developed a fiber optic interferometer system based on frequency-swept laser. This frequency-swept laser with an external-cavity structure can generate a high coherent light with a linewidth of 132 kHz at 1552 nm. It also shows a superior swept linearity of R2 = 0.99995 under repetition rate of 200 kHz due to absence of mechanical moving parts in the laser cavity. By using a piezoelectric fiber optic stretcher, various vibration experiments were implemented, such as 0.5 to 2.0 kHz vibration signals with intervals of 0.5 kHz, with a sampling rate of 7 kHz. Real-time peak tracking can be successfully recovered according to the applied vibration frequency with high linearity of R2 = 0.99983.
In this paper, the power flow analysis(PFA) has been used to analyze the vibration of a plate covered with a damping sheet. Experiments have been performed to measure the loss factor and frequency response functions of the plate covered with the damping sheet. The data for the loss factor has been used as the input data to predict the vibration of the coupled plates with PFA. The comparison between the experimental results and the predicted PFA results for the frequency response functions has been performed. It showed that PFA can be effectively used to predict structural vibration of a plate covered with a damping sheet in medium-to-high frequency range.
