  • The dynamic properties between catenary and pantograph of high-speed train are very important factors to affect the stable electric power supply. So as to design the reliable current collection system, a multibody simulation model is needed. In this paper, the dynamic analysis method for a pantograph-catenary cable system of high-speed train is presented. The very deformable motion of a catenary cable is demonstrated using nonlinear continuous beam theory, which is based on an absolute nodal coordinate formulation, and the pantograph is modeled as a rigid multibody. The proposed method might be very efficient, because this method can present the nonlinear properties of a flexible catenary cable and set a various boundary conditions.

전차선로 속도향상에 따른 오버랩 구간(Overlap section) 경간 구성 기법 (Research on Configuration Optimization of Overlap Section in Overhead Catenary System for High-speed Railway)

  • Overhead catenary system of electric railway has overlap sections which devide and tighten trolley wire supplying electric power to train, where current collection performances may become worse according to railway speed-up. Current collection tests conducted at 400 km/h test-bed section of Honam high-speed railway show that balanced line arrangement at overlap section is needed to secure current collection without arc generation between trolley wire and train current collection device. This paper proposes a design procedure of the overlap section to allow for tension increase and uplift of the trolley wires according to railway speed-up. By applying the proposed procedure to the overhead catenary system of Honam high-speed railway, it is suggested that the minimum span length should be 33.2 m for railway speed-up to 350 km/h and 43.7 m for speed-up to 400 km/h.

전기철도 전차선 접촉력 측정 및 분석시스템 개발 (Development of a Measurement System for Contact Force Analysis of Trolley Line)

  • A measurement system of contact force between overhead contact line and pantograph of train is developed which measures the contact force by using four sets of full-bridge strain gauges instead of load cells and accelerometers. The sensors are installed on the pan head of pantograph and the measured data from the sensors are transmitted to a server system in the train by way of wireless Lan. This configuration of the measuring system makes it easy to install on the trains without any alteration of train system. The measurement system is applied to KTX on the Kyungbu high speed line, and the measured contact force data shows good agreement with those measured by load cell and accelerometers. The waveform of the contact force between overhead contact line and pantograph contains essential information about their conditions. The proposed measurement system can probe any defects on overhead contact lines with train running at high speed, which will be a powerful solution for the maintenance of long-distance overhead contact lines.

  • The measurement of contact wire uplift in electric railway is one of the most test method to accept the maximum permitted speed of new vehicles or pantographs. The contact wire uplift can be measured for shot periods when pantograph is running in monitoring station. This paper describes the development of two different methods for contact uplift measurement using vision-based system and wireless online monitoring system. Our vision-based system employs a high-speed CMOS (Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor) camera with gigabit ethernet LAN. The development of a real-time remote monitoring system that acquires data from any kind of sensor to be transmitted by wireless communication from overhead line and structure at 25 kV to a computer in catenary system. The proposed two kind of different measurement systems to evaluation for dynamic uplift of overhead contact wire shows promising on-field applications for high speed train such as Korea Tilting Train (TTX) and Korea Train eXpress (KTX).

  • 전기철도는 전력공급시스템과 전기차로 구성되어 있다. 전기철도의 전기차는 대규모의 견인력을 얻을 수 있어 대량수송과 고속운전에 적합하다. 전기차는 모터블록과 견인전동기에 의해서 구동되며, 지령속도에 따라 모터블록에서 견인전동기에 전력을 공급하여 속도가 제어된다. 전기차의 속도제어는 모터블록과 견인전동기의 최소 에너지로 속도를 제어하는 것이 목표이다. 최근의 견인전동기는 직류 및 동기전동기에서 유도전동기를 사용하고 있다. 대부분의 유도전동기는 벡터제어기법을 사용하여 유도전동기의 속도를 제어한다. 본 논문에서는 유도전동기의 벡터제어기법을 이용하여 유도전동기의 속도를 제어하였다. Simulink를 이용하여 제어시스템을 모델링하고, PI 제어기와 Hysteresis 제어기를 이용하여 펄스를 제어하여 전동기의 속도를 제어하였다. 실시간 제어를 위해 IGBT 인버터를 사용하였고, 유도전동기 구동실험에 의해 시스템 성능을 입증하였다.

  • This paper introduces the combined test results of the traction system for KHST(Korean High Speed Train: hereafter refer to KHST). The main purpose of this combined test is to verify the performance of the traction system that is designed to operate up to maximum 350km/h speed. Combined test system consists of a traction transformer, two AC-DC PWM converters, a PWM Inverter, two traction motors and flywheel system. Flywheel system represents equivalent model of the train inertia. Also traction control system and MASCON Interfaces are included. Various kinds of experiments are performed to prove total traction system performance and detail waveforms are described

  • Recently, as the road capacity reaches the limit and environmental problems becomes serious, there is gradually increased a need for railroad vehicles that are environment-friendly and have time regularity, reliability and safety. Accordingly, in addition to conventional railroad vehicles, lots of vehicles are being newly developed. We developed the hardware and software of the measurement system for on-line test and evaluation of korean hish speed train. The software controls the hardware of the measurement data and acts as interface between users and the system hardware. In this paper, we is studied for electric apparatus performance of railway vehicle using sensor. In order to this test is developed signal conversion system. Using this system, we obtained important result for pantograph voltage, battery voltage, axle speed, and running speed.

  • 고속열차는 전력계통에 전압 변통을 일으키며 시간에 따라 변하는 비선형 부하이다. 시간에 따라 변하는 부하를 해결하기 위해 쓰이는 가장 보편적인 방법은 누적확률을 사용하는 것이다. 플리커는 전압 변동의 크기에 따라 램프의 방출 변화에 의한 인간의 지각 효과로 정의된다. 본 논문에서는 고속열차 부하의 고조파 및 플리커 측정을 심도있게 분석한다. 그리고 측정 결과는 국제 기준인 IEC 61000-3-6과 IEC 61000-3-7에 의해 평가하고자 한다.

  • Since a long time ago, many railway engineers analyze and discuss the interface between the sub-system of railway, such as a wheel/rail interface, pantograph/catenary interface etc. The verifying of the system interface could help to achive the optimized performance and safety of the railway system considering that the railway system is constructed by various engineerings, such as civil, mechanical, electrical, etc. A rolling stock with distributed drive system, which will be developed by HEMU-400x project, is capable of running on high speed line and conventional line in Korea. To verify the performance of rolling stock, test run will be done with revenue service line. And the test items of the system interface have to be selected to verify a functional compatibility and physical force between rolling stock and infrastructure. In this paper, the authors will indicates the test items to verify system interface. To achive the conclusion, the authors analyze a specification of the development train and the design value of Seoul-Busan high speed line, which will be used for testing of the development train, and also, study the various case of high speed train commissioning.

  • As the on-board electric devices determine the performances of vehicles, production of reliable devices is important. To keep the reliability of devices constant, management of performance evaluation of the on-board devices is crucial. Because temperature bas a serious effect on failures of the components of the devices, its measurement is the first step for good management. In this study, we described performance characteristics of domestic auxiliary block developed through G7 project. We measured the performances of auxiliary block during test running by the developed on-line measurement system. After we save the input real-time data from each signal of Korean High Speed Train through the network line, we can acquire necessary information through Post-Processing program. We verify the auxiliary converter characteristics of Korean High Speed Train by this system.
