  • This paper has proposed a multi-channel low pass filter (LPF) for LTE-Advanced systems. The proposed LPF is an active-RC 5th chebyshev topology with three cut-off frequencies of 5 MHz, 10 MHz, and 40 MHz. A 3-bit tuning circuit has been adopted to prevent variations of each cut-off frequency from process, voltage, and temperature (PVT). To achieve a high cut-off frequency of 40 MHz, an operational amplifier used in the proposed filter has employed a PMOS cross-connection load with a negative impedance. A proposed filter has been implemented in a 0.13-${\mu}m$ CMOS technology and consumes 20.2 mW with a 1.2 V supply voltage.

  • In this paper, the split-ring DGS resonator is proposed and its equivalent circuit are analyzed to design the low pass filter. Compared with the conventional dumbell DGS cell, this structure has a flat fluctuation in low frequency range and a sharp slop at edge frequency. The out-band suppression of the SRR-DGS cell can be improved by placing the open stubs on the conductor line which operates as parallel capacitances. Making use of equivalent circuit analytical method, the characteristics of the improved SRR DGS cell are investigated and applied to design compact low pass filter, which has a low in-band loss, sharp slop and high suppression of more than 35dB within a wide out-band frequency range. The dependence of the transmission characteristic on the dimension of a split ring, such as side-length and split-gap, is analyzed in detail. In addition, an improved SRR DGS cell model with open stubs loaded on the conductor line is then presented to improve the out-band suppression. By using the equivalent-circuit analytical method, an S-band microstrip low-pass filter with perfect low-pass characteristic and high out-band suppression is designed and fabricated.

  • The ceramic filters were developed using technology similar to that of quartz crystal and electro- mechanical filter. However, the key to this development involved the theoretical analysis of vibration modes and material improvements of piezoelectric ceramics. The primary application of ceramic filters has been for consumer-market use. Accordingly, a major emphasis has involved mass production technology, leading to low-priced devices. A typical ceramic filter includes monolithic resonators and capacitors packaged in unique configurations. Nakazawa developed a double-mode resonator as two acoustically coupled single resonators. And he developed 10.7MHz crystal filters using multi-energy trapping mode of thickness shear vibration. He succeeded in realizing a two-pole band pass filter response without external inductance by splitting a dot electrode to creak coupled symmetric and anti- symmetric vibration modes. Accordingly, the simulation for ceramic (inter were important. So that, this paper were investigated the pass frequency of filter on the electrode length and thickness of ceramic.

  • This paper proposes a dry-type active surface EMG electrode for the myoelectric prosthetic hand. The designed electrode is small size for embedding in the socket of prosthetic hand, and it has three leads including the reference of signal. To acquire EMG signal rejected the power noise, a precision differential amplifier and various filters such as the band pass filter band rejection filter, low pass and high pass filter are embedded on the electrode. The final output of the electrode is integrated absolute EMG (IEMG) obtained by full rectifier and moving average circuits. From experimental results using the implemented dry-type active surface EMG electrode, the proposed electrode is feasible for the myoelectric prosthetic hand.

  • This paper proposes an automatic bandwidth control method for the performance improvement of Binary Amplitude Shift Keying (BASK) system for Giga-Bit Modem in millimeter band. In order to improve the performance of the BASK system with a fixed bandwidth, the proposed method is to adjust a bandwidth of low pass filter in receiver using the fuzzy system. The BASK system consists of a high speed shutter of the transmitter and a counter and a repeater of receiver. The repeater consists of four stage converters, and a converter is constructed with a low pass filter and a limiter. The inputs to the fuzzy system are the reminder and integral of remainder of counter, and output is a bandwidth. We used a Viterbi algorithm to find the optimum detection from the output of the counter. Simulation results showed that the proposed system improves the performance compared to the fixed bandwidth.

  • We demonstrate an ultrathin metamaterial for polarization independent perfect absorption as well as a band-pass filter (BPF) which works at a higher frequency band compared to the perfect absorption band. The planar metamaterial is comprised of three layers, symmetric split ring resonators (SSRRs) at the front and structured ground plane (SGP) at the back separated by a dielectric layer. The perfect metamaterial absorber (MA) can realize near 100% absorption due to high electromagnetic losses from the electric and/or magnetic resonances within a certain frequency band. The thickness of the structure is only 1/28 of the maximum absorption wavelength.

  • In this paper, a diplexer circuit to separate GSM from CDMA band is designed using a LTCC (Low Temperature Cofired Ceramic) multi-layer technology. In order to increase a integration capability of the diplexer, it is designed using 3-dimensional (3-D) multi-layer compact inductor and capacitors in e-layer LTCC substrate with a relative dielectric constant of 7. In order to achieve high selectivity of the bands, a shunt capacitor and inductor are designed in the high-pass filter (HPF) and low-pass filter (LPF), respectively. The size of the fabricated diplexer including CPW pads is 3,450 ${\times}$4,000 ${\times}$694 ${\mu}m^3$An insertion loss (IL) and return loss in GSM band are less than -1.35dB and more than -5.66dB,respectively. In the case of CDMA band, the IL of -1.54dBandRLof above -9.30dBare archived.

  • High order filters are usually realized by cascading second order stages. In this paper, a simple method of pole-zero pairing in the high order band-pass and band-reject filter realization of the elliptic functions is proposed for the enhancement of overall dynamic range. Futrhermore, the optimum sequence of the various biquads of high-pass notch, low-pass notch and symmetrical notch etc., is developed for the elliptic band-pass and band-reject filters.

  • In this paper we introduce a design of parallel architecture for wavelet transformation on FPGA. We implement wavelet transforms though lifting scheme and apply Daubechies4 transform equations. This technique has an advantage that we can obtain perfect reconstruction of the data. We divide our process to high pass filter and low pass filter. With this division, we can find coefficients from low and high pass filters simultaneously using parallel processing properties of FPGA to reduce processing time. From the equations, we have to design real number computation module, referred to IEEE754 standard. We choose 32 bit computation that is fine enough to reconstruct data. After that we arrange the real number module according to Daubechies4 transform though lifting scheme.

  • An 8th-order elliptic low-pass filter with cutoff frequency of 3.13kHz is presented. The design procedure is based on teh 1/s impedance transformation which is applied to a minimum capacitor LC ladder network. The tranformed network is implemented with resistors and high Q frequency-dependent negative resistors (FDNR's). The high Q FDNR is realized with two transadmittance amplifiers. Detailed SPICE simulations show that the iflter has pass-band ripple of 0.18dB, stop-band attenuation over 100dB, cutoff frequency of 3.13 khz, and cutoff frequency temperature coefficient of 8.5ppm/.deg. C at supply voltage of .+-.5V.
