The purpose of this study is, as to verify the effect of IR announcements, the IR activity to look at the usefulness. In previous study, they found that the IR announcement leads to reductions in information asymmetry, effect to positive stock price. This study examine the abnormal returns between group by corporate characteristics. The data used in this study are daily stock market returns taken from the KOSDAQ listed company with IR announcements during the 2005-2012 year(8 year). We find that follows. First, the capital market is accepted IR activity as the positive information. Second, abnormal returns of small company is higher than big size that. We show the difference of abnormal returns between the venture company and general company, the venture company's high. The abnormal returns of corporate with high ownership is above the group of low ownership. Additionally, consider interaction by firm characteristics, we show the interaction between firm size and business type. The result of two-way ANOVA is that venture corporate with big size are more abnormal returns than others. Also, we demonstrate that firm location is the factor of difference on information effect in venture firm.
A pre-existing landform is created by weathering and erosion along the bedrock fault and the weak zone. A neotectonic landform is formed by neotectonic movements such as earthquakes, volcanoes, and Quaternary faults. It is difficult to clearly distinguish the landform in the actual field because the influence of the tectonic activity in the Korean Peninsula is relatively small, and the magnitude of surface processes (e.g., erosion and weathering) is intense. Thus, to better understand the impact of tectonic activity and distinguish between pre-existing landforms and neotectonic landforms, it is necessary to understand the development process of pre-existing landforms depending on the bedrock characteristics. This study used a two-dimensional numerical landscape evolution model (LEM) to study the spatio-temporal development of landscape according to the different erodibility under the same factors of climate and the uplift rate. We used hill-slope indices (i.e., relief, mean elevation, and slope) and channels (i.e., longitudinal profile, normalized channel steepness index, and stream order) to distinguish the difference according to different bedrocks. As a result of the analysis, the terrain with high erosion potential shows low mean elevation, gentle slope, low stream order, and channel steepness index. However, the value of the landscape with low erosion potential differs from that with high erodibility. In addition, a knickpoint came out at the boundary of the bedrock. When researching the actual topography, the location around the border of difference in bedrock has only been considered a pre-existing factor. This study suggested that differences in bedrock and various topographic indices should be comprehensively considered to classify pre-existing and active tectonic topography.
To investigate the anti-inflammatory activity of submerged culture using Cordyceps militaris mycelium, culture-including mycelia was extracted and lyophilized into postbiotics (hot-water extract; CM-HW). HW was fractionated into crude polysaccharide (CM-CP) by ethanol precipitation, and CM-CP was further dialyzed into CM-DCP by dialysis with running water using 12~14 kDa dialysis tube. When the cytotoxicity of subfractions against cells was assessed, no subfraction had a cytotoxic impact that was substantially different from the control groups. In an inflammatory model using LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 cells, CM-DCP significantly decreased IL-6 and MCP-1 production levels compared to the LPS-control group. CM-DCP also inhibited IL-6 and IL-8 secretion in HaCaT keratinocytes stimulated with TNF-α and IFN-γ. In the meanwhile, the neutral sugar content and mannose ratio of anti-inflammatory CM-DCP were higher than the other fractions, and CM-DCP contained β-1,3/1,6-glucan of 216.1 mg/g. High pressure size exclusion chromatography revealed that CM-DCP contained molecules with a molecular weight range of 5.6 to 144.0 kDa. In conclusion, postbiotics of C. militaris mycelium significantly promoted anti-inflammatory activity, suggesting that neutral polysaccharides including Glc and Man contribute to the anti-inflammation in RAW 264.7 or HaCaT cells.

We evaluate the impact of near work has on myopia and how they differ across generation. The study subjects were 201(83 males and 118 females) adults who live in Cheongju and Daejeon. Myopia was defined as more than or equal to (-)2.50D. The subjects were divided myopic and control group. The surveys and eye tests that are related to near work and refractive error were conducted and the relationship between the degree of myopia and near work was investigated. Then, the groups were divided into people in their 20s and 30s and the comparisons were made again. The survey results showed significant differences between myopic and control groups that depended on: hours spent in school and outdoor activities during high school period, degree of refractive error caused by level of exercises during the junior high school and high school years, refractive error based on the type of high schools, also hours spent in school and outdoor activities. When the same question was done on the group in their 20s and 30s, there was a different outcome in trends between the groups and refractive error depending on whether they exercised. The degree of near work is one of the environmental risk factors that affect myopia and must be considered when studying myopic progression. However, when discussing specific behavioral patterns in relations to myopia prevention, culture and visual environment of a given generation must also be considered.
Since 1964, HSR, which was opened in Japan, has had a hoge impact on the world. Historically, HSR has similar characteristics to the Roman Road, which promoted rapid movement and hada great influence on international society as transport infrastructure. Recently the development of HSR has become more rapid because of economic, environmental and external cost concern, emphasizing Environmentally Sustainable Transport(EST). In particular, the external cost has become more important factor for justifying HSR. The successful factors of HSR are high demand and cost minimal construction costs. There are two successful HSR models, the Japanese and the French. The former operates based on high demand oriented and the latter focuses on its minimizing costs. The demand orientated model means HSR carries over 100,000 passengers per day as in Japan and Far East Asian countries. The cost minimized model focuses on lower operation and construction costs as in France. In particular, Germany carries both passengers and freight on HSR. The construction costs in Germany are in between those of Japan and France. In future, Korea, Taiwan and China HSR will follow Japan's successful model because of high population density and concentration of economic activity along railway lines. This paper supports Vickerman's argument that HSR is justified where there is a demand of between 12 million and 15 million railway passenger a year(about 40thousand persons/day) between two urban center. This will be shown in the future in Korea, in Taiwan and China. Finally, this paper reviews that HSR activates at 250km/h for dedicated new lines and 200km/h for upgraded lines. In particular, it is successful in area of high population density and cost minimizing technology.
Dung beetle (Catharsius molossus, CA) is a well-known group of insects thanks to their exploitation of animal feces, a behavioral trait with a global impact on earth′s ecosystems. This study was conducted to investigate the effect of CA extract on a high-fat diet in SD rats. Male rats were divided into 5 groups. Animals were fed on a high-fat diet for seven weeks before and dung beetle extract for a month during the administration. Weight gain was decreased in ethanol extract from CA group. Administration of CA extract reduced the organ weight of testis and kidney, and adipose tissue weight. Lipid oxidative stress was evaluated measuring malondialdehyde level in liver. There were no significant differences in groups. Protein oxidative stress was evaluated measuring protein carbonyl content in blood. The protein carbonyl in blood was significantly decreased in ethanol and acetone extracted dung beetle groups (p<0.05). Meanwhile, the protein carbonyl in hepatocyte was not significant among the groups. Fibronectin and laminin by using D-HUVEC cell in vitro were measured by ELISA assay. There was significance in CA extract. The level of IL-10, IL-1β, VEGF, eNOS was evaluated by ELISA. There was significance in IL-10 compared to control (p<0.05). SOD and GPx tended to increase by CA extract. Furthermore, CAT was increased significantly by CA extract (p<0.05). After administration of CA extracts the composition of saturated fatty acid in adipose tissue tend to decrease, while unsaturated fatty acid increases. In conclusion, dung beetle had anti-hyperglycemia effects of oxidative stress and antioxidant activity.
With external air pollution forcing many people indoors, new methods of facilitating healthier indoor life are necessary. This study, therefore, investigates the effects of indoor oxygen concentration and respiration methods on biosignals and cognitive ability. The study included twenty healthy subjects who inhaled air through a mask from a gas delivery system. All subjects were asked to perform three types of breathing (nasal, oral, and oral breathing with high oxygenation) and respond to cognitive stimuli (rest close eye, rest open eye, 1-back and 2-back working memory tasks). The changes in cognitive load according to respiration were analyzed by measuring response time, accuracy, and biosignals to stimuli. The result showed that, in all three respirations, heart rate significantly increased with the increase in cognitive load. Also, in oral respiration, the airway respiration rate significantly increased according to the increase in cognitive load. The change appeared to compensate for insufficient oxygen supply in oral respiration during cognitive activity. Conversely, there was no significant change in airway respiration rate during oral respiration with a high concentration oxygen supply as in nasal respiration. This result suggests that a high concentration oxygen supply might play a role in compensating for insufficient oxygen concentration or inefficient oxygen inhalation, such as oral respiration. Based on the results of this study, a follow-up study is necessary to determine the impact of changes in the autonomic nervous system, such as stress and emotions, to find out more precise and comprehensive effects of oxygen concentration and breathing type.

In general, the rail transportation recognized as a better transportation mode than road transportation in terms of the environment. However, due to a lack of quantitative analysis based on Korean data, foreign cases for environmental advantages of the railway have often been cited in Korea. To address this issue, we estimated the energy consumption of passenger and freight transportation using certified activity data from Korea Railroad Statistics and the Electrical Work Report for railway and the Energy Consumption Survey for road. We estimated the Green House Gas emission of passenger and freight transportation on a Tier 1 level by applying the IPCC 2006 Guideline. Finally, we calculated the energy consumption unit and GHG emission unit to determine the environmental impact of rail and road transportation. We also compared the analyzed results of high-speed rail and auto as typical means of rail and road transportation.

This study was performed to identify the tendency and benefits of outdoor recreation in rural areas. The preferences and importance of the benefits of outdoor recreation activities in rural areas were simultaneously compared and analyzed through the discussion of a four quadrants portfolio map using importance-performance analysis. The social benefits in quadrant i had the characteristics of 'sharing nice experiences with others', 'having contact/interchange with others', 'colleagueship/helping each other', 'being together with friends', and 'making new friends.' These social benefit types were perceived as very important characteristics, but the real level of achievement was rather low. Thus it seems necessary, in the process of program development, to apply the social benefit types to the characteristics of the participants. The experience of nature and relaxation benefits in quadrant ii had the characteristics of 'relaxation and recreation', 'understanding nature', 'nature experience', 'getting away from everyday life', and 'experiencing new things.' These benefits and experience of nature were regarded as very important characteristics by the participants in outdoor recreation and, at the same time, their real achievements were highly recognized, thus they seemed to be proper types for the goals involved in developing an outdoor recreation activity program in rural areas. The personal and challenge benefits in quadrant iv had the characteristics of 'training of mental ability', 'improvement of self-esteem', 'fitness', 'increase in determination', 'possible danger', 'achievement', 'excitement', and 'adventure.' These benefits had less importance to the participants, but had relatively high achievement, thus it might be important to make further suggestions for the direction of development according to the participants' tendency, seasons and facilities.
In this research, we study how task and KMS fit influences on KMS performance in large corporations during its practical use. Based on the task-technology fit theory and information system success model, we developed a research model by considering the characteristics of KMS for supporting tasks. We try to verify how individual traits, task traits, and KMS Units affect task-KMS fit and how task KMS fit influences on KMS performance. We surveyed 212 employees who were using KMS and working for the large-sized manufacturing firms. We analyzed the collected data from LISREL 8.54 for Windows, and found the following significant results. First user satisfaction is increased when KMS provides knowledge to help to perform task rather than KMS' functionality. Second, user satisfaction is increased when KMS is suitable for performing task Hence, we verified task-KMS fit is an antecedent of user satisfaction. Third, task-KMS fit and user satisfaction have significant impacts on KMS performance. And user satisfaction affected more heavily on KMS performance than task-KMS fit did. As a result, we realized an individual performance can be improved when task KMS fit is high and, consequently, user satisfaction is increased. Forth while the usefulness of task-KMS fit is demonstrated, causal factors such as individual traits, task traits, and KMS traits significantly affect task-KMS fit. Formalization and knowledge trait we significant in enhancing user satisfaction, but KMS self-efficacy, autonomy, md system trait are not. These results indicate that task-KMS fit variable is useful as a measure of KMS performance as well as that of user satisfaction. Based on these results, we conclude that when KMS supports task activity, performance can be significantly improved by coordinating the task with KMS.
