A12O3을 하지층으로 하는 Ba-ferrite 박막의 제조 및 자기적 특성에 관한 연구 (The Preparation and Magnetic Properties in Ba-ferrite Film on the A12O3 Substrate)

  • $A1_2O_3$ 기판을 하지층으로 하는 Ba-ferrite 박막을 pulsed laser deposition system으로 제조하여 결정학적 및 자기적 성질을 SEM, $M\ddot{o}ssbauer$ 분광법 및 VSM을 사용하여 연구하였다. Ba-ferrite박막은 $A1_2O_3$ 기판위에 PLD를 이용하여 기판온도 $400^{\circ}C$, 산소압력 0.1 Torr로 증착 하였고 증착 시간을 달리하여 두께 조절하였다. Ba-ferrite 박막은 5분 증착한 시료에서만 판상으로 결정이 형성되었음을 볼 수 있고 그보다 두꺼운 시료의 경우에는 침상모양과 판상모양이 임의의 방향으로 혼재되었음을 확인하였다. $M\ddot{o}ssbauer$ssbauer 분광법으로부터 측정된 Ba-ferrite결정 내 Fe 원자의 스핀 방향은 두께가 얇을수록 판상의 결정이 많이 존재하여 기판에 수직으로 정렬하려는 경향을 보이고 있다. VSM으로 측정한 자기이력곡선은 판상과 침상의 상이한 2가지 형태가 공존하는 것으로 나타났다.

  • Shape and size controlled synthesis of gold particles has been studied by using wet-chemical method. When ${AuCl_4}^-$ in aqueous $HAuCl_4$ precursor was reduced using $Na_2SO_3$ as a reducing agent, mixtures of spherical, triangular and hexagonal particles were prepared in a few minutes. It was found that the shape selective oxidative etching by ${AuCl_4}^-\;+\;Cl^-$ anions and crystal growth took place simultaneously. As the ${AuCl_4}^-$ and $Cl^-$ concentration increased, yields of large triangular and hexagonal plate type particles increased, while the spherical particles decreased in most cases. Possible etching and growth mechanisms are discussed.

GaOOH 선구체의 스핀코팅에 의한 GaN 박막의 성장 (Growth of GaN Thin-Film from Spin Coated GaOOH Precursor)

  • GaN thin fan were grown by spin coated colloidal GaOOH precursor. Polycrystalline GaNs with crystalline size of $10{\sim}100nm$ were grown on $SiO_2$ substrate. The shape of crystallite above $900^{\circ}C$ had the hexagonal plate and column type. X-ray diffraction patterns for them correspond to those of the hexagonal wurtzite GaN. With increasing droplets. i.e, thickness of deposited layers, XRD intensity increased. PL (photoluminescence) spectrum consisted with an weak near band-edge emission at 3.45 eV and a broad donor-acceptor emission band at 3.32 eV. From the low temperature PL measurement on GaN grown at $800^{\circ}C$ that the shallow donor-acceptor recombination induced emission was more intense than the near band-edge excitonic emission.

빙정식 융제로 성장한 Corundum 단결정의 결정형 (Crystal Habits of Corundum Single Crystals Grown in Cryolite Flux)

  • Corundum single crystals were grown in cryolite flux with the composition of Na3AlF6:Al2O3=80:20 wt%. This mixture was melted at 115$0^{\circ}C$, followed by slow cooling at a rate of 2$^{\circ}C$/hr to 96$0^{\circ}C$. And by adding of La2O3 to the flux, the change of crystal forms were observed. Crystal forms of corundum grown in cryolite flux had the habits of hexagonal plate which consist of well developed {0001} face and small {101} face. As La2O3 was added and its content was increased, {223} and {110} faces were developed, and crystal habits of equidimensional forms changed into hexagonal prism form. In a charge of 8 mole% B2O3, Al2O3:La2O3=15:1, transparent corundum single crystals of equent form were grown. As the content of B2O3 was increased, twineed crystals which have twin law of 2-fold parallel to [0001], and composition plane of (110) were grown.

  • Ferroxplana N $i_{2}$Y(B $a_{2}$N $i_{2}$F $e_{12}$ $O_{22}$ ) magnetic particles, which is one of the hexagonal ferrite were synthesized by a coprecipitation method. The coprecipitates were prepared by adding aqueous solution of BaC $I_{2}$ - 2 $H_{2}$O, NiC $I_{2}$ - 6 $H_{2}$O and FeC $I_{3}$ - 6 $H_{2}$O(of which the mole ratio is $Ba^{+2}$ : N $i^{+2}$ : F $e^{3+}$= 1 : 1 : 6) to a mixture of NaOH and N $a_{2}$C $O_{3}$. The shape of Ferroxplana N $i_{2}$Y magnetic particles obtained at 1, 100(.deg. C) was hexagonal plate-like, average particle size and aspect ratio were 2(.mu.m) and 7, respectively.y.

  • It has been prepared by a coprecipitation method for Ferroxplana $Ni_2Y\;(Ba_2Ni_2Fe_{12}O_{22}$ magnetic particles, which is one of the Hexagonal ferrite. The coprecipitates were synthesized by adding aqueous solution of $BaCl_2{\cdot}2H_2O,\;NiCl_2{\cdot}6H_2O\;and\;FeCl_2{\cdot}4H_2O$ (of which the mole ratio is $Ba^{2+}:Ni^{2+}:Fe^{2+}$=1:1:6) to a mixture of NaOH and $Na_2CO_3$ solution. The shape of Ferroxplana $Ni_2Y$ magnetic particles obtained at the calcined temperature 1,100($^{\circ}C$) was hexagonal plate-like, average particle size was 2(${\mu}m$), and aspect ratio was more than 7.

  • Piezoelastic materials have recently attracted considerable attention because of their potential use in intelligent structural systems. In this paper, we treat a transient piezothermoelastic problem in a hexagonal plate of crystal class 6mm subjected to antisymmetric heating temperature. We analyze this problem by use of the potential function method. Numerical calculations are carried out for a cadmium selenide solid, and the results are presented graphically in comparison with those derived from the similar problem in a cadmium selenide plate subjected to symmetric heating temperature for a symmetry transient problem.

A Preliminary Study on a Method for the Morphological and Quantitative Analyses of Individual Snow Crystals and Its Application for Field Measurement

  • The main aim of this study is to establish methods of morphological preservation and elemental quantification for individual snow crystals. Individual snow crystals were collected at a height of 20 m above ground level. To stabilize and preserve the original morphologies of the snow crystals, cyanoacrylate, which has been used to fix liquid droplets, was applied (Kasahara et al., 2000). Several different kinds of snow crystals (dendrite, sectored plate, quasi-sectored plate, and hexagonal plate) were successively stabilized using this method. The stabilized snow crystals were pretreated with acetone, and then the elemental components contained in a whole snow crystal were quantified with the Particle Induced X-ray Emission (PIXE) analytical technique. The snow crystal residual composition determined in the present study was dominated by sulfur and mineral components, and the elemental mass showed an apparent crystal size dependence, where the elemental mass gradually decreased as the crystal size increased.

  • The phages of Bacillus subtilis SNU 816 were observed by electron microscope with their host. The results are as follows; The phage had hexagonal head, contractile tail sheath and base plate with six tail fibers. During the lysis of bacteria due to attack of phage, dissolution of flagella were initiated from distal end of flagella.
