  • The stock market shows the current health of an economy, and investment performance represents it. This study aims to clarify the relationship between financial behavior and investment decisions as well as its impact on investment results. Determine the influence of behavioral factors on individual investors' investment decisions and investment performance on the Vietnam stock market. The study surveyed 250 investors. The main analytical methods used are Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Research results show that Heuristic, Prospect, Market, and Herding directly and positively affect investment decision-making. Besides, the above factors have a direct and positive effect on investment performance. In particular, the Prospect factor has the strongest influence on investment decision-making and investment performance. The major findings of this study suggested that the important role of Heuristic, Prospect, Market, and Herding on Investment Decision-making and Investment Performance. Prospect had the strongest impact on Investment decision-making (β = 0.275). Heuristic had the second strongest impact (β = 0.257), then Herding (β = 0.202), and finally Market (β = 0.189) had the weakest effect. Regarding Investment Performance, the Prospect factor has a higher degree of impact than Heuristic Herding and Market.

  • In this study, a heuristic for surface mounters is developed to find an efficient sequence on PCB and rack assignment by component grouping. As setting up 4 reels in a group, the distance of rack moving can be minimized. And then, a generalized model for N reels in a group is developed. It is found that the performance of this heuristic is better than other heuristics found in the literature. Throughout the simulation study, the suggested heuristic is performed about 8.2 ∼ 12% better than other heuristics.

  • A practical issue is studied to improve the performance of a new energy based method of achieving stable, high performance haptic interface control. The issue is related to resetting the amount of energy accumulated in the Passivity Observer for faster operation. A heuristic method is derived and experimentally tested for the resetting and it is shown to help the PC to operate sooner when the system gets active. Experimental results are presented for the “Excalibur” haptic device.

  • Load shedding algorithm has been developed using heuristic search and D.C flow method. The line flow error with a D.C method was improved in this paper. Minimization of load shedding was obtained with heuristic search method. Although analytical method have been mixed with expert algorithm the C language fitted well for this purpose.

  • We present the discrete-time version of the heuristic interpretation of the mean waiting time known well about the continuous-time version. The heuristic approach is mainly based on an arriving customer's viewpoint. We obtain the mean waiting time of $Geo^X/G/1$ queueing systems, including vacation queues.

  • This paper presents a fuzzy set theory based formulation and heuristic which will allow plant layout problems to be solved for more than two input goals with different weights. The heuristic combines a construction and improvement procedure to generate a good layout from the formulation. To test the effectiveness of the heuristic, a set of examples previously used by various authors is solved and the results are compared to those from other known heuristics. The comparison indicates that the proposed method performs well for each of seventeen classical test problems.

  • Vehicle routing problem Is known to be a NP-hard problem, and is traditionally solved by some heuristic approaches. This paper investigates the application of the computer method COMSOAL to the optimal vehicle routing problem. This paper discusses the adaptation of the COMSOAL approach to the known set of simple vehicle routing example problem. The results show that the COHSOAL can be a good possible approach to solve the vehicle routing problem.

  • This paper presents a heuristic solution procedure for the quadratic assignment problem, ranking procedure, which can handle the case where not all of the facilities have the same size of area. The ranking procedure is found more efficient than two other existing heuristic procedures from results of computational experience. Based on the out-patients flow pattern and the procedure developed, an improved layout of the three existing general hospitals is developed with the objective of minimizing the total distance travelled by patients in the central and the out-patient clinic.
