  • In this study, the hinges of heavy weight doors were designed and analyzed in line with the trend that built-in appliances are becoming larger and the weight of doors is also increasing. The main specification of the heavy weight door hinge is to allow the deflection at the end of the door to be less than 2 mm when opening and closing, including the automatic closing, slow closing, and closing force control functions. The structural analysis of the design mechanism, component design, and methods for improving the deflection are as follows: 1) Mechanism of the automatic closing function should sense automatically using the spring compression force at a specific angle by the contact between the cam and the cam module roller. 2) Through structural analysis, the maximum stress of the door was found in the link pin hole connected to the pin at each link. 3) Consequently, the pin holder was designed and applied, with little variance, but up to 93% of the specification limit.

  • This paper presents the results of a engineering characteristic to the effect of drilling fluid with different mix designs for use in bore hole collapse prevention. The bore hole collapse prevention mechanism for the bentonite based drilling fluid was first discussed together with the effect of conditioning with different additives on engineering characteristics of bentonite based drilling fluid. As result, bentonite with polymer have a outstanding characteristics as compared to CMC Properties thickening effect In the case of sea water with attatulgite be superior to bentonite. Therefore, in this paper presented qualitative result on the performance of the drilling fluid depending on the water.

  • In order to propose the method of the consequence analysis for fire accidents by the heavy gas release and to obtain optimum conditions of parameter selections, the consequence analysis for jet fire by the accident of xylene vapor release were performed. And the effect and the sensitivity analysis of parameters affecting the consequence were investigated. Simulation results showed that important parameters affecting results of the xylene vapor release accident were mainly hole diameter, interested distance, wind speed, and so on. For the jet fire, the accident result and the sensitivity of thermal radiation were increased with the decrease of interested distance and the increase of hole diameters, and the accidental result was increased as the increase wind speed, but the sensitivity of thermal radiation was decreased.

  • Heavily $p^{ +}$-typed ($10^{20}$ $cm^{-3}$ ) GaAs epilayers have been grown on high-index GaAs substrates with various crystallographic orientations from (100) to (111)A by a low-pressure metalorganic chemical vapor deposition. Carbon (C) tetrabromide (CBr$_4$) was used as a C source. At moderate growth temperatures and high V/III ratios, the hole concentration of C-doped GaAs epilayers shows the crystallographic orientation dependence. The bonding strength of As sites on a growing surface plays an important role in the C incorporation into the high-index GaAs substrates.

  • Near-field photocurrent experiments were performed for GaAs/AIGaAs MQWs at room temperature. Heavy hole and light hole related peaks are clearly resolved even under extremely low power of near-field excitation. By scanning laterally 2 $\mu\textrm{m}$${\times}$2 $\mu\textrm{m}$ area on the surface, minority carrier diffusion process in the well region was qualitatively studied.

  • The binding energies of the ground state of both the heavy-hole and light-hole excitons in a GaAs(In\ulcornerGa\ulcornerAs) quantum well sandwiched between two semi-infinite Al\ulcornerGa\ulcornerAs(InP) layers are calculated as a function of well width in the presence of an arbitray magnetic field. A variational approach is followed using very simple trial wave function. The applied magnetic field is assumed to be parallel to the axis of growth and the binding energies are calculated for a finite value of the height of the potential barrier. The exciton binding energies for a given value of the magnetic field are found to be increased than their values in a zero magnetic field due to the compression of their wave functions within the well with the applied magnetic field.

  • A nuclear fuel test loop (after below, FTL) is installed in IR1 of an irradiation hole in HANARO for testing neutron irradiation characteristics and thermo hydraulic characteristics of a fuel loaded in a light water power reactor or a heavy water power reactor. When HANARO is normally operated, the fuel loaded in the irradiation hole has a nuclear reaction heat generated by a neutron irradiation. To remove the generated heat and to maintain an operation condition of the test fuel, a main cooling water system (MCWS) is installed in the OPS of the FTL. This paper describes the cold function test results of the MCWS. It was confirmed through the test results that the system met the design requirements under a cold operation condition.

  • Pentacene films, grown on polyethylene terephthalate (PET) substrates, were doped with Iodine. ESR measurements were made for the films in the temperature range of 100-300 K. Two regimes of doping stages were discernible: a light (intercalation) doping regime and a heavy doping regime. The light doping regime was concluded to be dominated by localized holes that were trapped at low temperatures, which indicated trap states near the valence band edge.

  • The effect of parameters on the consequence of the flash fire accident by the release of heavy gas(in this study, xylene vapor) was analyzed. Simulation results showed that the distance with the lower flammable limit($X_{LFL}$) was increased with the increase of the release hole diameter. For the case of the elevated release, $X_{LFL}$ was increased with the increase of the wind speed and the release height, but $X_{LFL}$ was not affected by the wind speed for the release on the ground level. Therefore, the accident in the elevated release was more dangerous than the release on the ground level. In this condition, the release height had more effect on $X_{LFL}$ at the night time than the daytime and in the urban area than the rural area.

  • To improve the accuracy and safety of irradiation tests in High flux Advanced Neutron Application ReactOr (HANARO), the nuclear energy deposition rate, which is called nuclear heating, was estimated for an irradiation capsule with an iridium sample in the irradiation hole in order. The gamma rays emitted from the radioisotopes (RIs) of the structural materials such as flow tubes of fuel assemblies and heavy water reflector tank were considered as radiation source. Using the ORIGEN2.1 code, emission rates of delayed gamma rays were calculated in consideration of the activation procedure for 8 years and 2 months of HANARO operation. Calculated emission rates were used as a source term of delayed gamma rays in the MCNP6 code. By using the MCNP code, the nuclear heating rates of the irradiation capsules in the inner core, outer core, and heavy water reflector tank were estimated. Calculated nuclear heating in the inner core, outer core, and heavy water reflector tank were 200-260 mW, 80-100 mW, and 10 mW, respectively.
