In this paper, for the purpose of preparing some fundamental data on the development of the eye-health education program and conducting a practical application, the degree of request for the eye-health education were investigated by surveying 304 undergraduate students. The relationship between the degree of request for the eye-health education and sex, the division of major, and the experience of eye-health education was examined by SAS and $X^2$-test of questionnaire. The degree of request of undergraduate students for the eye-health education was as high as 86.51%. There was no statistical significant difference dependence on their experience of the eye-health education or their sex. There was significant difference dependence on their major. Specially, the degree of request of natural science, medical and health science majors was higher than any other majors. Consideration on the eye-health education should be required to meet the request of it.

The purpose of this study is to identify the practical knowledge about osteoporosis and health promoting behavior possessed by male and female university students in their twenties. Next, the study seeks to analyze the difference in the degree of knowledge and practice of health promoting behavior depending on the students' area of study (health-related or non-health-related major) and previous education about osteoporosis. A survey was given to 300 male and female university students in Jeju Island from November 18 to December 6, 2013. Regarding knowledge about osteoporosis, the accuracy rate of health science major participants was 16.8 % higher than that of those of non-health science, and the accuracy rate of participants with previous education about osteoporosis was 12.9 % higher than those who had not. Health promoting behavior showed a higher degree of practice among students in health-related majors and those with previous applicable education. There were significant differences between the knowledge of osteoporosis and major and the presence and absence of prior education. Regarding the degree of health promoting behavior and major, the presence or absence of prior education showed significant differences. Among male and female students in their twenties, the recognition of knowledge about osteoporosis is very low. There is a need to develop various programs that focus on osteoporosis prevention rather than treatment, to improve the quality of education and training content according to the individual, and to lower the target age for osteoporosis education.
Currently, many universities are implementing software-oriented universities and artificial intelligence-oriented universities to foster software-oriented manpower. We are educating students to design and produce computational thinking and coding directly with their major knowledge. However, computer education is not easy for non-majors, and there are many difficulties in coding. The results of responses from 104 students from the College of Health Sciences and College of Social Management who took the liberal arts computer at University H were analyzed using SPSS 26.0 version. In the liberal arts computer class for non-majors, a PJBL-based class plan was proposed. The effectiveness of PJBL-based classes was confirmed through a questionnaire for the improvement of artificial intelligence liberal arts courses. As a result, PJBL-based education showed statistically significant results in terms of satisfaction, effectiveness, and self-efficiency of classes regardless of major.
The purpose of this study is to examine the nutrition knowledge, characteristics related to, nutrient intakes, anthropometrics, biochemical indices of university female students by major (food and nutrition versus physical science). Data were taken from 120 university female students (60 from each major) and the results follows. The mean age of the subjects was 19.6 years old. Most of subjects responded that they were healthy; subjects majoring in physical science scored higher in regular exercise (p < 0.01) and were more satisfied with their own body figures (p < 0.01), compared with the counterparts. The total nutrition knowledge score was $81.01{\pm}12.3$ for food and nutrition majors and $72.5{\pm}15.2$ points for physical science majors. (p < 0.01) The percentages of body fat were significantly higher in the food and nutrition students than the counterparts. (p < 0.001) The result of biochemical analysis showed that both groups were in normal range. But there was some statistically significant difference between groups in GTP, HDL-cholesterol and ALP levels. It suggests that regular exercise might have a positive effect on the body. This study showed that although both groups had different knowledge of nutrition, there was not much difference in the intakes of nutrients. But especially, the intakes of calcium and iron were quite low in both groups. Subjects majoring in Physical science had more lipid intake, but they had lower body fat. This suggests that regular exercise in this group might have effects on the percentages of body fat. In future study, nutrition education might be planned to increase nutrition knowledge and to connect nutrition knowledge to eating behaviors and to promote health to regular exercise. Also, the desire and the social perception for pursuing alean body figure and being underweight should be changed for optimal health.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the knowledge on patient safety and performance confidence for the subject of health-related major students. Participants were 349 Health-related majors. Data were analyzed using SPSS 21.0. According to the study results, correct answer rate for patients' knowledge on safety was 65.7% in average. Average point of performance confidence was $7.11{\pm}1.74$. Considering in terms of question, patient identification was high, while effective communication was shown to be low. Patient identification, communication, surgery procedure, fall, patient's safety accident report as the lower domain for patients' knowledge on safety and performance confidence had a positive correlation, while knowledge and infection management, facility environment had a negative correlation for health-related major students, development of patients' safety education program is needed to enhance importance of patients' safety before clinical practice and to allow implementation of safe clinical practice.
Purpose. This study was to effects of major satisfaction of dental hygiene students and students on self-efficacy and career preparation behavior by investigation to provide basic data for developing a systematic career customized employment support program. Methods. The data were collected from 249 students from December 1 to 10 day 2016 in Yeongnam region. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics frequency, t-test(One-way ANOVA), logistic regression by SPSS WIN 18.0 program. Results. According to the general characteristics department dental hygiene students were major satisfied with 59.8%. Satisfaction with career decision self-efficacy and career preparation self-efficacy was found to $68.30{\pm}10.21$ statistically significant(p<.001). Satisfaction was also found to statistically significant ($32.65{\pm}6.05$) in career preparation behavior(p<.05). Satisfactory scores were found to 1.306 times higher than the dissatisfied students in the career decision self-efficacy goal setting. It was found that 8.423 times in satisfaction of career planning in career preparation. Conclusion. Considering the effects of dental hygiene students' major satisfaction on career decision self - efficacy and career preparation behavior, it would be good if we could develop and use various programs to improve the satisfaction of students in their majors.
Purpose: This study was to identify the current status of vaccination against the pandemic (H1N1) 2009 virus among university students from the fields of nursing and allied health from a local community and verify factors influencing vaccination. Methods: The study included 227 students in the fields of nursing and allied health from a provincial university. Data were obtained from these participants between May 31 and June 11, 2010 by using self-report questionnaires. Results: The rate of vaccination against the pandemic (H1N1) 2009 virus for these participants was 14.5%. No difference was observed in this regard between majors and school year. Factors that influence vaccination against this virus included previous vaccination against seasonal influenza and participants’ attitudes toward general vaccination. Conclusion: The results suggest that for effective pandemic (H1N1) 2009 vaccination of university students from the fields of nursing and allied health, students who have not been vaccinated should be intensively managed. Developing a vaccination program that encourages a positive attitude toward vaccination is recommended.
This study examined two groups of students Korean Oriental Medicine majors and Food and Nutrition majors and compared their knowledge of clinical nutrition as well as their tendency to follow healthy lifestyles. In all, 204 college juniors and seniors majoring in Food & Nutrition, and 324 sophomores majoring in General Korean Oriental Medicine were given a questionnaire. Overall, knowledge of clinical nutrition(out of twenty questions) was significantly higher among the students majoring in food and nutrition (p<0.01). Specifically, these students obtained a higher score in the questions pertaining to the following topics: nutritional support(p<0.05), the relationship between menopause and blood cholesterol(p<0.01), the relationship between weight control and carbohydrates(p<0.01), the relationship between gout and protein(p<0.10), the relationship between hyperlipidemia and carbohydrates(p<0.01), the relationship between trans fatty acids and atherosclerosis(p<0.01), the relationship between blood potassium levels and kidney disease(p<0.01), and the relationship between weight control and diet and water(p<0.05). Conversely, students studying General Korean Oriental Medicine had a better knowledge of the relationship between malnutrition and the mortality rate and health complications(p<0.01). The questions relating to a healthy diet and lifestyle indicated that students majoring in Food and Nutrition had higher incidences of diet irregularity and a higher missing rate (p<0.01); they were more interested in calorie content and nutrients in their diet(p<0.05); and they were more likely to study about nutritional knowledge during their leisure time (p<0.01). The results also indicated, however, Korean Oriental Medicine students consumed proportionally more vegetables(p<0.05); and they were more likely to take the stairs than the elevator(p<0.01).
This study was conducted to obtain principal data on nutrition education according to college major after analyzing the nutrition status of 302 male university subjects. The 302 male subjects consisted of male students majoring in literature and science (109), food and nutrition (94), and physical education (99). Exactly 47.9% (highest among the groups) of male students majoring in food and nutrition ate regular meals, 39.4% ate breakfast. Precisely 29.4% of subjects majoring in literature and science never ate out. Exactly 23.2% of subjects majoring in physical education over ate frequently, and 31.3% enjoyed eating out. Intakes of protein, fat, vitamin A, $B_1$, $B_2$, $B_6$, C, E, folic acid, Ca, Fe, sodium, and cholesterol among male students majoring in food and nutrition appeared to be significantly higher compared to those of other groups (p<0.05). Intakes of energy, Zn, dietary fiber, and cholesterol among male students majoring in physical education were higher, whereas intakes of all nutrients except for dietary fiber by subjects majoring in literature and science were lower than the other two groups. Exactly 20.2% of male students were interested in health. We found that 52.4% of subjects considered exercise as an important factor for maintaining health. Smoking rate was the highest (43.6%) among male students majoring in nutrition, and the drinking rate was highest (56.0%) among male students majoring in literature and science. We found that smoking was continued as a habit (61.5%) while drinking was essential for social relationships (73.9%). From this study, it was found that male students have problems associated with eating regular meals, skipping breakfast, overeating, and intake of unbalanced foods. Also, male students who majored in food and nutrition demonstrated problems in applying their knowledge to proper dietary habits. In conclusion, a systemic educational program needs to be introduced to promote healthful dietary habits in male students.
This paper is based on Yanbian University's physical test data, and uses statistical analysis methods to study the relationship between college students' physical test scores to promote college physical education. Firstly, using gender as categorical variables, we conduct a general analysis of students in different majors and different grades, and obtain the advantages and disadvantages of male and female college students; then we use Decision Trees and Random Forest algorithms to conduct modeling analysis to provide valuable suggestions for relevant departments of the university. the aiming of this research analyzing about the undergraduates physical test is that giving universities the targeted suggestions to improve the college graduate rate and promote the overall development of higher education, lay the foundation for achieving universal health.
