Effect of He-Ne laser intravascular irradiation by live blood analysis (생혈구분석을 통한 He-Ne laser 정맥혈관내 조사의 효과)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of Intravascular Laser Irradiation of Blood(ILlB) by the live blood analysis. Methods : We had analysed the changing forms of the live blood samples with Ultra Darkfield Microscope before and after Intravascular Laser Irradiation of Blood. Results : 1. Somatid did not showed significant change. 2. In the rouleau of red blood cells was decreased significantly. 3. In the morphological change of red blood cells, Burr cell, Ovalocyte and Poikilocyte were decreased significantly, but Acanthocyte and Target cell were increased significantly. 4. In the abnormal matters in plasma, the Cholesterol cristal did not showed significant change, but the Aggregation of platelet, Lipids, Spicule, Leucocyte, Uric acid cristal did showed a little significant decrease. Conclusion : These findings suggest that live blood analysis is useful to judge the effect of treatment and diagnosis in oriental medicine, and with the effect of Intravascular Laser Irradiation of Blood, it had showed significant effect on rouleau of red blood cells, morphological change of red blood cells and abnormal matters in plasma.

  • A new measurement method to measure vibrational motions of objects is presented. The original principle is similar to the previous work that utilized a 3-facet mirror to obtain three dimensional positions and orientations of rigid bodies. While the previous work was presented for only stationary objects, in this paper, we newly investigate the feasibility of this method for dynamic applications. The 3-facet mirror that looks like a triangular pyramid having an equilateral cross-sectional shape. The mirror has three lateral reflective surfaces inclined 45 degrees to its bottom surface, and its mounted on the object whose motion is to be measured, As optical components, a He-Ne laser source and three position-sensitive detectors(PSD) are used.   • A sensor modeling via artificial neural network is presented in this paper. The optical sensor has been designed to treasure absolute 3-dimensional positions and orientations of objects in 6-DOF.   • The temperature variation at a laser rod center induced by high repetetion rate pumping was measured by counting the number of inteference frigne shift and found to be consistent with the theoretical value obtained from heat diffusion equation. The spatial homogeneity and energy transfer rate of flashlamp pumping by the single elliptical reflector plated with gold were evaluated by measuring interference fringes oever the cross section of a Nd:YAG laser rod.

  • Deposited film of a transition metal, Ti was diffused into LiNbO3 crystals to form integrated optical waveguides. By suppressing L O out -diffusion, single-mode waveguides could be constructed.   • A study on the Manufactiring of High-Precision Linear Scale by the Use of He-Ne Laser Interference Of late, along with the advancement of procision machining technology, the reauirement of super-precision measurement increases as time goes on, and the precision and accuracy of standard scale which is a basis of procision measurement has been cognized as a oriterion of industrial development in a nation. Up to now, mechanical and chemical methods have been widely employed to carve scale lines on linear scale, and it is impossible for the linear scale manufactured by means of those methods to guarantee the measurement with sub-micron level owing to errors attended with various problems. And the measuring length also bears errors subjected to the influence of surroundings condition, and shows inefficient circumstances in measurement on the ground of the complexity of measuring procedure as well as massive measuring apparatus. Hence in this paper, we described on technology by which we can carve scale lines thru optical method under the condition of laboratory by using rhcoherence of He-Ne two-mode stabilized laser and in turn, put it to practical use as linear scale for the measurment of lengrh. In this researchin the case of setting scale interval to 20 .mu. m, we employed super-precision scale-carving device associated by Ar larser and acoustic optical modulator in lieu of flsahing lamp scale-carving device, and we consequently obtained superior linear scales carved with precision and accuracy of .+-. 0.3 .mu. m.

  • The gyroscope is the sensor for detecting the rotation in inertial reference frame and constitute the navigation system together an accelerometer. As the inertial reference equipment for attitude determination and control in the satellite, the mechanical gyroscope has been used but it bring the disturbance for mass unbalance so the disturbance give a bad influence to the observation satellite mission because the mechanical gyroscope has the rotation parts. During the launch. The mechanical gyroscope is weak in vibration, shock and has the defect of narrow operating temperature range so it need the special design in integration. Recently the low orbit observation satellite for seeking the high pointing accuracy of image camera payload accept the FOG(Fiber Optic Gyro) or RLG(Ring Laser Gyro) for the attitude determination and control. The Ring Laser Gyro makes use of the Sanac effect within a resonant ring cavity of a He-Ne laser and has more accuracy than the other gyros. It need the 1000V DC to create the He-Ne plasma in discharge tube. In this paper, the design process of the High Voltage Power Supply for RLG(Ring Laser Gyroscope) is described. The specification for High Voltage Power Supply (HVPS) is proposed. Also, The analysis of flyback converter topology is explained. The Design for the HVPS is composed of the inverter circuit, feedback control circuit, high frequency switching transformer design and voltage doubler circuit.

  • In order to measure the retina thickness, the retina photographing system and the multi-channel high speed image data acquisition system is developed. This system requires the optical processing techniques and the high speed image processing techniques. The HeNe laser beam is projected the retina in artificial eye and then we sensed the reflected laser signal using APD array. The laser projection system on retina using optical instruments is implemented. In order to project the plane laser beam on retina, laser photographing system used the polygon mirror for horizontal scanning and the galvano mirror for vertical scanning. We acquired retina images in each channel of APD array, transferred computer using PCI interface the image data after real-time A/D converting.

The Spectrum of Laser Instruments for Laser Acupuncture Application (레이저침 시술에 사용되는 레이저 기기의 적용 범위에 대한 고찰)

  • Objectives : During the past three decades there has been a significant evolution of laser acupuncture application in the nature of the clinical approach and the research of traditional medicine and laser therapy field. However, there have been no standard and guideline of laser equipment can be applied as laser acupuncture. This study aims to investigate the condition of laser equipment required as a laser acupuncture method. Methods : First, we performed literature search using the Medline(from 1999 to Oct 2008) to confirm types and ranges of laser equipments that can be applied as laser acupuncture. In addition, we investigated the characters of acupoints such as sites and depths, and compared with penetrating depths of each laser. Results : A total of 37 articles for clinical studies using laser acupuncture were selected, and 41 lasers were used. GaAs laser was used three times, GaAlAs laser 14, InGaAlP 18, HeNe laser 4, and Argon laser and CO2 laser were used one time, respectively. From all 361 points of fourteen meridians, depths of 341 points(94.5%) were 1 cun(2.3-3.2cm) or less. The mean depth of all points was 0.48 cun(1.1-1.5cm). Hence, it appeared that the majority of therapeutic lasers satisfied with the condition. HeNe, InGaAlP, GaAlAs, GaAs lasers are recommended for laser acupuncture, however, it may plausible that other surgical lasers could be used as the laser acupuncture, because it have the biostimulation effect to some extent, too. Conclusions : It is suggested that to select appropriate laser type and give the adequate output power to reach the acupoints under the skin using laser acupuncture. Further evaluation and research for the condition of laser acupuncture are warranted.

  • In this paper we have obtained property by considering the change of optical energy gap as a function of photo-does for exposing photo on Ag/a-Se$\sub$75/Ge$\sub$25/ thin films. This U-type property was obsered for all photo-exposing except for blu-pass filtered Hg lamep. Expecially, very large band shift(~0.3[eV]) is obtained by exposing He-Ne laser (6328[${\AA}$]). It is impossible to explain this property for exposing He-Ne and semiconductor laser through DWP model, which was explained for photo-exposing above the energy gap. Therefore we suggest a new modified model of DWP model for Ag/a-Se$\sub$75/Ge$\sub$25/ bilayer thin films.
