Two major obstacles in the utilization of electrical vehicles are their price and range. The collaboration of direct torque control (DTC) with induction motor (IM) is preferred for its low cost, easy implementation, and parameter independency. However, in terms of edges, the method has drawbacks, such as variable switching frequency and undesired current harmonic distortion. These drawbacks result in acoustic noise, reduced efficiency, and electromagnetic interference. A feed-forward approach for stator-flux-oriented DTC with space vector pulse-width modulation is presented in in this paper. The outcome of the proposed method is low current harmonic distortion with fixed switching frequency while preserving the torque performance and simple application feature of basic DTC. The method is applicable to existing and forthcoming IM drive systems via software adaptation. The validity of the proposed method is confirmed by simulation and experimental results.
This paper analyses the harmonic pollution to power grids caused by several high-power rectifiers, summarizes the requirements for rectifiers in suppressing grid-side current harmonics and optimizes a new-type of current source PWM rectifier with a hybrid switch. The rectifier with a hybrid switch boasts significant current characteristics and cost advantages in the high-power area. To further enhance the working frequency of the current source rectifier with a hybrid switch for suppressing grid-side harmonics and reducing the inductance size, this paper proposes an optimal control strategy based on space vector. It also verifies that the optimal control strategy based on space vector can reduce the total harmonic distortion of the grid-side current of the rectifier with a hybrid switch via circuit simulation and experimental results.

In recent years, the development of drone technologies has promoted the widespread commercial application of drones. However, the ability of drone to carry explosives and other destructive materials may bring serious threats to public safety. In order to reduce these threats from illegal drones, acoustic feature extraction and classification technologies are introduced for drone sound identification. In this paper, we introduce the acoustic feature vector extraction method of harmonic line association (HLA), and subband power feature extraction based on wavelet packet transform (WPT). We propose a feature vector extraction method based on combined HLA and WPT to extract more sophisticated characteristics of sound. Moreover, to identify drone sounds, support vector machine (SVM) classification with the optimized parameter by genetic algorithm (GA) is employed based on the extracted feature vector. Four drones' sounds and other kinds of sounds existing in outdoor environment are used to evaluate the performance of the proposed method. The experimental results show that with the proposed method, identification probability can achieve up to 100 % in trials, and robustness against noise is also significantly improved.
In this paper, some crucial performance characteristics related to the operational reliability of the post-fault Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) rectifiers, such as line current harmonic distortion, Common Mode Voltage (CMV), and current stress on the capacitors, are fully investigated. The aforementioned performance characteristics of post-fault rectifiers are highly dependent on the utilized space vector modulation (SVM) schemes, which are also examined. Detailed analyses of the three most commonly used SVM schemes for post-fault PWM rectifiers are provided, revealing the major differences in terms of the zero vector synthesis approaches. To compare the performances of the three SVM schemes, the operating principles of a post-fault rectifier are presented with various SVM schemes. Using analytical and numerical methods in the time domain, the performances of the line current distortion, common mode voltage and capacitor current are evaluated and compared for each SVM scheme. The proposed analysis demonstrates that the zero vector synthesis approaches of the considered methods have significant impacts on the performance characteristics of rectifiers. In addition, the advantages and disadvantages of the proposed SVM schemes are discussed. The experimental results verify the effectiveness and validity of the proposed analysis.
We shall discuss on some vanishing theorems of harmonic sections of a Riemannian vector bundle over a compact Riemannian manifold with boundary. In relating the results of H. Donnelly - P. Li ([4]), for special case of harmonic forms satisfying absolute or relative boundary problem, our results improve the vanishing results of T. Takahashi ([9]).
The space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) technique is a popular PWM method for medium voltage drive applications. Conventional SVPWM (CSVPWM) and bus clamped SVPWM (BCSVPWM) are the most common SVPWM techniques. This paper evaluates the performance of various advanced BCSVPWM strategies in terms of their harmonic distortion and switching loss based on a uniform frame work. A uniform frame work, pulse number captures the performance parameter variations of different SVPWM strategies for various number of samples with heterogeneous pulse numbers. This work compares different advanced BCSVPWM techniques based on the modulation index and location of the clamping position (zero vector changing angle ) of a phase in a line cycle. The frame work provides a fixed fundamental frequency of 50Hz. The different BCSVPWM switching strategies are implemented and compared experimentally on a 415V, 2.2kW, 50Hz, 3-phase induction motor drive which is fed from an IGBT based 2 KVA voltage source inverter (VSI) with a DC bus voltage of 400 V. A low cost PIC microcontroller (PIC18F452) is used as the controller platform.
An advanced active power filter for the compensation of instantaneous harmonic current components in nonlinear current load is presented in this paper. A novel signal processing technique using an adaptive neural network algorithm is applied for the detection of harmonic components generated by three-phase nonlinear current loads and this method can efficiently determine the instantaneous harmonic components in real time. The control strategy of the switching signals to compensate current harmonics of the three-phase inverter is also discussed and its switching signals are generated with the space voltage vector modulation scheme. The validity of this active filtering processing system to compensate current harmonics is substantiated on the basis of simulation results.

In this paper, a nonlinear relationship between an input complex envelope and an output complex envelope of m-th harmonic zone is theoretically analyzed, and AM/$AM_m$ and AM/$PM_m$ are defined. A scheme to extract these characteristics from measured in-phase and quadrature-phase data is suggested. The proposed analysis is verified with a fundamental-fundamental and fundamental-third harmonic measurements for a InGaP power amplifier(PA). Based on the harmonic-band nonlinear analysis and extraction scheme, a new technique to send a signal in m-th harmonic band with a harmonic signal Linearization Digital Predistortion(DPD) scheme is presented. A numerical analysis and a Look-Up Table(LUT) based DPD algorithms to linearize output signal on m-th harmonic zone are developed. For a 16- and a 64-QAM input signals, a DPD for third harmonic signal linearization is implemented, and output spectrum and signal constellation are measured. The wholly distorted signals are linearized, and thus the measured Error Vector Magnitudes (EVM) are 6.4 % and 6.5 % respectively. The results show that a proposed scheme linearizes a nonlinearly distorted harmonic band signals. The proposed nonlinear analysis and predistortion scheme can be applied to multiband transmitter in next generation software defined radio(SDR)/cognitive radio(CR) wireless system.

With biological effects by ELF (Extremely Low Frequency) magnetic field generated from power system, the transient magnetic field from electric appliances is a major issue presently. Because the transient magnetic field induces higher current than the power frequency field inside living bodies, transient magnetic field exposure has been much focused. In this paper, it is shown that transient magnetic field from electric home appliances can be characterized as magnetic dipole moment. In this method, the dipole moment vector is assumed by allowing an uncertainty of 6dB in the estimated field. A parameter M that represents biological interaction was applied also. The proposed method was applied to 7 types of appliances (hair drier, heater, VDT, etc.) and their equivalent magnetic dipole moment and harmonic components were estimated. As the results, the useful data for quantifying magnetic field distribution around electric appliances were obtained.
In this study, terrain classification, which was done by using the quantitative classification parameters and suitable interpolation method was applied to improve the accuracy of digital elevation models, and to increase its practical use of aerial photogrammetry. A terrain area was classified into three groups using the quantitative classification parameters to the ratio of horizontal, inclined area, magnitude of harmonic vectors, deviation of vector, the number of breakline and proposed the suitable interpolation. Also, the accuracy of digital elevation models was improved in case of large grid intervals by applying combined interpolation suitable for each terrain group. As a result of this study, I have an algorithm to perform the classification of the topography in the area of interest objectively and decided optimal data interpolation scheme for given topography.
