  • The frequency of car accidents is very high at the intersection. Because of the state of a traffic signal, quarrels happen after accidents. At night many cars run away after causing an accident. In this case, accident analyses have been conducted by investigating evidences such as eyewitness accounts, tire tracks, fragments of the car or collision traces of the car. But these evidences that don't have enough objectivity cause an error in judgment. In the paper, when traffic accidents happen, the traffic accident detection system that stands on the basis of images and sounds detects traffic accidents to acquire abundant evidences. And, this system transmits 10 seconds images to the traffic center through the wired net and stores images to the Smart Media Card. This can be applied to various ways such as accident management, accident DB construction, urgent rescue after awaring the accident, accident detection in tunnel and in inclement weather.

  • Intrusion Detection System that protects system safely is necessary as network technology is developed rapidly and application division is wide. Intrusion Detection System among others can construct system without participation of other severs. But it has weakness that big load in system happens and it has low efficient because every traffics are inspected in case that mass traffic happen. In this study, Distributed Intrusion Detection System based on protocol is proposed to reduce traffic of intrusion detection system and provide stabilized intrusion detection technique even though mass traffic happen. It also copes to attack actively by providing automatic update of using rules to detect intrusion in sub Intrusion Detection System.

  • H-mode or X-mode predominates in marine engines according to the number of cylinder. Generally, H-mode noticeably happen in the engine below 7-cylinder and X-mode remarkably happen above 8-cylinder in the engine operating range. Until now, FEA (Finite Element Analysis) of 3D engine model has been mainly used to estimate the engine vibration but it is very time consuming for simulation and difficult to model simplification. Furthermore, the accuracy of simulation shows a marked difference according to modeling method. Therefore it is very difficult to have contentable result from FEA for beginners and laymen. In this paper, the estimation method based on a test has been suggested to solve the difficulty.

A study on the problems of transport document as a proof of delivery on INCOTERMS 2000 (매도인(賣渡人)이 제공하는 인도증빙서류(引渡證憑書類)의 문제점(問題點)에 관한 연구(硏究) (INCOTERMS 2000을 중심(中心)으로))

  • The purpose of this paper is to examine the meanings of delivery of each trade term in INCOTERMS 2000, to investigate various kinds of transport document as a proof of delivery, and finally to find their problems. As a result of examination, following problems are considered to happen practically. First, a multimodal transport document referred in FOB term seems to be unappropriate because FOB term can be used in sea or inland waterway transport. Second, Assuming resale in transit in CFR or CIF term, non-negotiable Sea Waybill seems to be inappropriate. Third, As Sea Waybill is not a document of title, it can not be a security when the bank negotiate seller's draft. Fourth, INCOTERMS 2000 deleted the reference to charter party in CFR or CIF term. This deletion may raise any legal problems for the liabilities of carrier when the contradictions happen between the charter party B/L and charter party. Finally, if CFR or CIF means symbolic delivery, other documents besides B/L can not be a symbols of goods.

  • The proliferation of devices such as tablets and smart phones, which are now used by many people in their daily lives, has led to a number of companies allowing employees to bring their own devices to work due to perceived productivity gains and cost savings. However, despite many advantage, security breaches (e.g., information leakage) can happen for various reasons (e.g., loss or theft of devices, and malicious code) and privacy breaches can happen by using personal devices for business. We should carefully scrutinize security threats in this area. We present the security threats analysis and the technical approach in this area, and discuss privacy threats and countermeasures.

  • Previous studies showed that the voice onset time (VOT) of aspirated and lenis stops has been merged, and post-stop fundamental frequency (F0) has emerged as a primary cue to distinguish the two stops in the younger generation and female speech. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate that VOT merger in aspirated and lenis stops occurs after an F0 difference between the two stops becomes stabilized. In other words, unless post-stop F0, which is a redundant feature, is fully developed, it is hard for VOT merger to happen. Females have got a stable F0 difference in stops earlier than males. Therefore, VOT merger could happen, and as a result, females could take the lead in changing from VOT to F0 in initial stops. This study also shows that speakers who acquired F0 as a primary cue use F0 to the full to distinguish lenis stops from two other stops (aspirated and fortis).

  • Frame Synchronization is applied to not only digital data transmission for data synchronization between transmitter and receiver but also data communication with satellite. When satellite image data with high resolution and mass storage is transmitted, hardware frame synchronizer for real-time processing or software frame synchronizer for post-processing is used. In case of hardware, processing with high speed is available but data loss may happen for Search of Frame Synchronization. In case of software, data loss does not happen but speed is relatively slow. In this paper, Pending Buffer concept was proposed to cope with data loss according to processing status of Frame Synchronization. Algorithm to process Frame synchronization with high speed using bit threshold search algorithm with pattern search technique and SIMD is also proposed.

  • The use of a practice perspective in the analysis of information literacy represents a shift in attention towards the enactment of information literacy as a social practice, and away from the information skills approach that has dominated information literacy research and education. The sociocultural perspective that underpins a practice-oriented approach highlights the role of practice and co-participation of the community in shaping the production, reproduction and circulation of knowledge, including knowledge about the appropriateness of information skills in relation to the context in which the skills are practised. This emerging view contrasts with the conventional approach to information literacy that has focused on the information skills of individuals as something that can be learned and transferred independently of context. This paper explores two questions: what is information literacy and, how does it happen? It then goes on to identify the implications of this approach for librarians and researchers.

  • Electric accidents, like getting electrified, sometimes happen to people working on electricity. A highly probable reason why these electric accidents happen is that workers are used to skip confirming disconnection of electricity when they work. It is mostly because they have little understanding of electricity. To overcome this, various applications such as 'electric detecting stick' are invented to check existence of electricity on working environment. But, they have not been popular due to inconvenience of carrying. So, we made a new instrument. It is a kind of nipper on which electric detecter is installed. Detecting existence of electricity is less burdensome via this tool we made.
