  • This paper, we study on multiple wireless network module support for the Android based set-top box. Limitation of mobile OS, Android based set-top box has limited choice of various wireless network modules, Atheros, Realtek, Ralink, etc. In this paper, for the request of Set-top box supplier and market demands, we research on reconfigure & change the Android network HAL(Hardware Abstract Layer) for Wi-Fi networking support and implementation about multiple Wi-Fi module support platform.

Arabidopsis AHL Gene Encodes a 3'(2'),5'-Bisphosphate Nucleotidase Sensitive to Toxic Heavy Metal Ions

  • Arabidopsis AHL gene contains 4 exons encoding a putative protein highly homologous to the yeast salt-sensitive enzyme HAL2, a 3'(2'),5'-bisphosphate nucleotidase involving in reductive sulfate assimilation. AHL cDNA complemented yeast met22 (hal2) mutant. AHL fusion protein expressed in E. coli exhibited $Mg^{2+}$-dependent, 3'-phosphoadenosine 5'-phosphate (PAP)-specific phosphatase activity. $Li^+,\;Na^+,\;K^+$ and $Ca^{2+}$ ions inhibit the enzyme activity by competing with $Mg^{2+}$ for the active site of the enzyme. The enzyme activity was also sensitive to ${\mu}M$ concentrations of toxic heavy metal ions such as $Cd^{2+},\;Cu^{2+}$ and $Zn^{2+}$, but was not recovered by addition of more $Mg^{2+}$ ions, suggesting that these ions inactivate the enzyme with a mechanism other than competition with $Mg^{2+}$ ions. Inhibition of the AHL enzyme activity may result in accumulation of PAP, which is highly toxic to the cell. Thus, the AHL enzyme could be one of the intial targets of heavy metal toxicity in plants.

A Study for Assessing Exposure to Musculoskeletal Disorders Risk Factors among the Cooking & Housekeeping Jobs in Hotel work using PATH Method (PATH 기법을 이용한 숙박업 요리직과 청소직의 근골격계질환 유해요인 노출평가에 관한 연구)

  • This study was conducted to assess exposure to musculoskeletal disorders risk factors in the cooking & housekeeping jobs in hotel work. PATH (posture, activity, tools and handling) method was used for data collection at the 6 hotel settings in different regions across Korea. From 26 workers, a total of 949 PATH observations were obtained. The highest percent time on non-neutral posture was 78% for pinch grip, followed by 74%(wrist deviation), 52%(trunk posture), 37%(shoulder/arm posture), and 30%(neck posture). The highest percent time in the three HAL variables was 47% for HAL-cat2. The percent time of items in relation to both loads with more than 5kg and contact stress was less than 2%. The hotel workers were not exposed to vibration.

Kinetic Analysis for the Catalytic Pyrolysis of Polyethylene Terephthalate Over Cost Effective Natural Catalysts

  • In the current research, thermal and catalytic thermogravimetric (TG) analysis of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) over natural zeolite (NZ), olivine, bentonite, HZSM-5, and HAl-MCM-41 were investigated using a TG analyzer and model-free kinetic analysis. Catalytic TG analysis of PET was carried out at multi-heating rates, 10, 20, 30, and 40 ℃/min, under nitrogen atmosphere. Apparent activation energy (Ea) values for the thermal and catalytic pyrolysis of PET were calculated using Flynn-Wall-Ozawa method. Although natural catalysts, NZ, olivine, and bentonite, could not lead the higher PET decomposition efficiency than synthetic zeolites, HZSM-5 and HAl-MCM-41, maximum decomposition temperatures on the differential TG (DTG) curves for the catalytic pyrolysis of PET, 436 ℃ over olivine, 435 ℃ over bentonite, and 434 ℃ over NZ, at 10 ℃/min, were definitely lower than non-catalytic pyrolysis. Calculated Ea values for the catalytic pyrolysis of PET over natural catalysts, 177 kJ/mol over olivine, 168 kJ/mol over bentonite, and 171 kJ/mol over NZ, were also not lower than those over synthetic zeolites, however, those were also much lower than the thermal decomposition, suggesting their feasibility as the proper and cost-effective catalysts on the pyrolysis of PET.

A Critical Analysis on Definitions of Biyoul and Value of Bi in Elementary Mathematics in Korea (우리나라 초등학교 수학에서의 비율 정의와 비의 값 정의의 비판적 분석)

  • In this paper, definitions of biyoul and value of bi in elementary mathematics in Korea are critically analysed. And identity of halpunri is reviewed. Regarding biyoul, it is suggested that the use of term 'biyoul' is restricted to such cases when the quantity to be compared and the quantity to be a base have same measuring unit, without consider ing biyoul in terms of two numbers. it is suggested to use "the number which express how many times the quantity to be compared is contained by the quantity to be a base is called biyoul." as a definition of biyoul. It is suggested to use "value of bi A : B is A/B" as a definition of value of bi. Halpunri is a variation of halbunri, which is coined by putting hal, pun, and ri together in purpose of using in school mathematics. The tem1 corresponding halpunri is 'bohap', however, in this paper it is suggested to use halpunri after defining it instead of using bohap. In that halpunri is an acclimatized term of bohap, and considered as a biyoul not as a way to indicate biyoul, it is suggested to use "biyoul when the quantity to be a base is considered 10." as a definition of halpunri. It is suggested to see hal, pun, and ri are units for halpunri, and call decimal 0.1 expressing biyoul 1 hal, decimal 0.01 expressing biyoul 1 pun, decimal 0.001 expressing biyoul 1 ri respectively.

  • A Server-Proxies-Users communication system is studied by using Stackelberg strategy theory of game. A new model, in which the server, proxies and users are not equal is established, and that is a three-level programming. The solution existence of the model is proved.

  • 영화 로보캅, 아이언맨 등에 등장하는 외골격기구(exoskeleton)는 이제 더 이상 먼 미래의 얘기도 아니고 딴 나라 얘기도 아니다. 외골격기구 중 특히 하지외골격기구는 Baytheon Sarcos, Berkley Bionics, Exohiker, Bleex, HAL5 등의 이름으로 버클리, 스탠퍼드 등 해외 우수 연구집단에서 이미 개발을 성공하였고 상용화를 앞두고 있다. 늦은 감은 있지만 국내에서도 재활의료용, 군수용 하지외골격기구 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본 저자는 최근 기존연구와 다른 접근방식으로 고민을 시작하였고 본 연구팀이 상표출원한 $PLE^{TM}$, $LeSATA^{TM}$의 개발을 서두르고 있다. 이 글을 통해 그간의 고민들을 간략히 털어놓을까 한다.

  • The HPL(Horizontal Protection Limit) means bound of radial horizontal error with given probability in satellite navigation system. RAIM algorithm is not available if HPL exceeds HAL (Horizontal Alert Limit). So exact calculation of HPL is very significant in RAIM algorithm. In this paper the methods that calculate HPL their own way a]:e studied and compared by simulation. And availability of RAIM algorithm is evaluated also.
