Given their structural arrangement, photovoltaic (PV) modules exhibit parasitic capacitance, which creates a path for high-frequency current during zero-state switching of the converter in transformerless systems. This current has to be limited to ensure safety and electromagnetic compatibility. Many solutions that can minimize or completely avoid this phenomenon, are available. However, most of these solutions are patented because they rely on specific and often complex converter topologies. This study aims to solve this problem by introducing a solution based on a classic converter topology with an appropriate modulation technique and passive filtering. A 5.5 kW single-phase residential PV system that consists of DC-DC boost stage and DC-AC H-bridge converter is considered. Control schemes for both converter stages are presented. An overview of existing modulation techniques for H-bridge converter is provided, and a modification of hybrid modulation is proposed. A system prototype is built for the experimental verification. As shown in the study, with simple filtering and proper selection of switching states, achieving low leakage current level is possible while maintaining high converter efficiency and required energy quality.

This paper presents a new cascaded asymmetrical single phase multilevel converter with a lower number of power semiconductor switches and isolated DC sources. Therefore, the number of power electronic devices, converter losses, size, and cost are reduced. The proposed multilevel converter topology consists of two H-bridges connected in cascaded configuration. One H-bridge operates at a high frequency (high frequency inverter) and is capable of developing a two level output while the other H-bridge operates at the fundamental frequency (low frequency inverter) and is capable of developing a multilevel output. The addition of each power electronic switch to the low frequency inverter increases the number of levels by four. This paper also introduces a hybrid switching algorithm which uses very simple arithmetic and logical operations. The simplified hybrid switching algorithm is generalized for any number of levels. The proposed simplified switching algorithm is developed using a TMS320F2812 DSP board. The operation and performance of the proposed multilevel converter are verified by simulations using MATLAB/SIMULINK and experimental results.
A optimal soft switching technique for A/DC full bridge converter is proposed. variable soft switching single stage AC/DC full bridge converter with unit power factor are presented in this paper. Using soft switching, we can reduce a switching losses. As a result, achieving good power factor and achieving a good efficiency. We search a optimal soft switching technique in this paper and to verify the theoretical analysis of the presented AC/DC full bridge converter, a design example is given with its Pspice and Psim simulation and experimental results.
A wide-voltage-conversion range bidirectional DC-DC converter is proposed in this paper. The topology is comprised of one typical LC energy storage component and a special common grounded asymmetric H-bridge with four active power switches/anti-parallel diodes. The narrow output PWM voltage is generated from the voltage difference between two normal (wider) output PWM voltages from the asymmetric H-bridge with duty cycles close to 0.5. The equivalent switching frequency of the output PWM voltage is double the actual switching frequency, and a wide step-down/step-up ratio range is achieved. A 300W prototype has been constructed to validate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed bidirectional converter between the variable low voltage side (24V~48V) and the constant high voltage side (200V). The slave active power switches allow ZVS turn-on and turn-off without requiring any extra hardware. The maximum conversion efficiency is 94.7% in the step-down mode and 93.5% in the step-up mode. Therefore, the proposed bidirectional topology with a common ground is suitable for energy storage systems such as renewable power generation systems and electric vehicles with a hybrid energy source.
We considered of the efficiency for the Buck+Half bridge converter This converter has advantages of applications for a low output voltage, a high output current and a wide input voltage. Developed the Buck converter ratings and the Half Bridge converter ratings are 36$\~$72V Input and 22V/5A output, 19$\~$24v input and 3.3V/30A output, respectively. Buck converter is operated with zero voltage switching process to reduce the switching losses. The 80.1 $\~$97.6$\%$ of the efficiency is measured at 18.4 $\mu$H output filter inductance of Buck convertor. In Half Bridge convertor, the 86$\~$96.4$\%$ of the efficiency is measured at 100kHz switching frequency with PQI core.
Recently, the demand of large capacity SMPS for industrial area is increasing. Full-bridge dc-dc converter with IGBT is most widely used for large capacity SMPS because IGBT has a low-conduction loss and large current capacity, But most large capacity Full-bridge do-dc converter using IGBT has low operating frequency because of switching loss at IGBT especially at turn-off by current tail and it's cause of relatively big converter size. MOSFET has low switching losses has been widely used for high frequency SMPS but it has a problem to apply to large capacity SMPS because it has large conduction resistance causing large on-time losses. In this paper, for reduction losses at switching device, MOSFET is applied at parallel with IGBT in full-bridge dc/dc converter.
In recent years, voltage source multilevel converters are very popular in medium/high-voltage industrial applications, among which the NPC/H-Bridge converter is a popular solution to the medium/high-voltage drive systems. The conventional finite control set model predictive control (FCS-MPC) strategy is not practical for multilevel converters due to their substantial calculation requirements, especially under high number of voltage levels. To solve this problem, a hierarchical model predictive voltage control (HMPVC) strategy with referring to the implementation of g-h coordinate space vector modulation (SVM) is proposed. By the hierarchical structure of different cost functions, load currents can be controlled well and common mode voltage can be maintained at low values. The proposed strategy could be easily expanded to the systems with high number of voltage levels while the amount of required calculation is significantly reduced and the advantages of the conventional FCS-MPC strategy are reserved. In addition, a HMPVC-based field oriented control scheme is applied to a drive system with the NPC/H-Bridge converter. Both steady-state and transient performances are evaluated by simulations and experiments with a down-scaled NPC/H-Bridge converter prototype under various conditions, which validate the proposed HMPVC strategy.

A transformerless converter suitable for multiphase drive application is presented in this paper. The topology employs a cascaded H-bridge rectifier as the interface between the grid and multi inverters which drive the multiphase motor. Compared with the conventional structure, the new topology eliminates the input transformer and also has the advantages such as four quadrant operation, simple configuration, low cost, high efficiency, and so on. The control strategies for the grid-side cascade H-bridge rectifier and the motor-side inverter are studied accordingly. Based on the multi-rotational reference frame, modular control scheme is developed to regulate the multiphase drive system. Simulation results show the proper operation of the proposed topology and the corresponding control strategy.

This paper proposes new 13-level inverter topology and DC/DC converter buck-boost structure topology for multilevel, compounding uni-directional and bi-directional switches, and proposes high-efficient multilevel inverter system in which the proposed two PCS(Power Conditioning System) was connected in series. In proposed multilevel inverter of forming a output 13-level phase voltage by using total 18 switching parts, Then bi-directional switch has a characteristic of reducing conduction loss and controlling the reactive power effectively by separating electrically from the neutral point. DC/DC converter for supplying in dependent 3 DC voltage to the proposed multi-level inverter generates 180-degree phase shifted PWM by the symmetrically combined structure of 2 buck-boost converter and twice switching frequency efficiency can be obtained, meanwhile, the converter can step up/down the output voltage and 20% output can be generated comparing the input voltage. This proposed system is verified with the simulation and laboratory test.
A Full-bridge zero-voltage zero-current switching (ZVZCS) converter using transformer auxiliary winding is analyzed. A complete small-signal model for the control scheme is developed. The propoed model is accurate up to half the switching frequency. The dynamic characteristics are compared with those of the zero-voltage switching converter and buck converter. Model predictions are confirmed by experimental measurements.
