흡인식 자기부상시스템의 $H_ {\infty}$ PID 제어기 설계 ($H_ {\infty}$ PID Controller Design for an Attraction Type Magnetic Levitation System)

  • This paper deals with a linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach to the design of a PID controller for an attraction type magnetic levitation system. First, we convert the $H_ {\infty}$ PID controller problem into a static output feedback problem. We then solve the static output problem by using the recently developed penalty function method. Numerical experiments show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

  • In this paper, the genetic algorithm is used to design a mixed H₂/ H/sub ∞/ controller Two kinds of controller forms, Youla's form and the general form, are considered to design a mixed H₂/ H/sub ∞/ controller. Efficient searching methods are sought to minimize the given H₂cost function under the H∞ constraint. It is verified by an example that the developed algorithm can provide stable results in the region where unstable results are shown by the conventional gradient method.

  • In this paper, a robust $H_{\infty}$ controller, based on the Riccati equation approach, is proposed for HVDC power system with parametric uncertainties. Bounds of power system parametric uncertainties are included in Riccati equation to improve the robustness of controller. The proposed $H_{\infty}$ controller for the stabilization of HVDC power system can ensure that the overall system is asymptotically stable for all admissible uncertainties. Simulation results show that the proposed $H_{\infty}$ controller can achieve good performance in presence of uncertainties of power system.

  • In this paper, a new method of position synchronizing control is proposed for multi-axes driving system. The proposed position synchronizing control system is constituted with speed and synchronizing controller. The speed controller is aimed at the following to speed reference. Furthermore, it is designed to guarantee low sensitivity under some disturbance as well as robustness against model uncertainties using $H_{\infty}$technique. The synchronizing controller is designed to keep minimizing the position error using PID control law which is considered to reduce the dimension of transfer function in the control system. Especially, the proposed method can be easily conducted by controlling only slave axis speed, because it, has variable structure which is decided to master and slave axis by the sign of synchronizing error. Therfore, the master axis which is smaller influenced than another axes by disturbance can be controlled without reducing or increasing its speed for precise position synchronization. The effectiveness of the proposed method is sucessfully confirmed through many experiments.s.

  • In practical control systems, the capacity of actuators is limited and this degrades the system performances and it is often a source of instability. To use full capacity of actuators, we adopt the gain scheduled control permitting the over saturation in controls. The basic idea of gain scheduled control is to use a higher gain control when the state variables are smaller and a lower gain control when the state variables are larger. First, we derive a constant H control and a reachable set while satisfying the degree of over saturation. Next, we divide this set into nested subsets and find $H_{\infty}$ controls at rack subsets while satisfying the degree of over saturation. Finally, the control gain is applied according to the status of states. Note that all procedures are done by solving linear matrix inequalities(LMI). Finally, we show the validity and applicability of our proposed control using the simulations of a six-story building subjected to the earthquake excitation.

  • This paper presents a $H_{\infty}$ robust controller with parameter estimation in polynomial approach. For good performance of a uncertain system, the parameters are estimated by RLS algorithm. The controller minimizes the sum of $H_{\infty}$ norm between sensitivity function and complementary sensitivity function by employing the Youla parameterization and polynomial approach at the same time. A numerical example and its simulation results are given to show the validity of the proposed controller.

  • In this paper, a suspension control of a magnetic levitation(MagLev) system with flexible rail is designed and presented. The numerical modelling for the electromagnetic system to be controlled as a target plant is carried out. And dome kinds of the hardware system including CPU board, AD board, DA board, sensors, and switching power amplifier are described. Using the derived model, the stabilizing controllers, such as PID and $H_{\infty}$ controller, for the MagLev system are designed using the MATLAB toolbox. The designed controllers are validated by some experimental results as well as numerical simulations. So it is shown that $H_{\infty}$ controller can give the better performance for the plant with flexible modes than PID controller.

  • A two-degree-of freedom (TDF) $H_{\infty}$controller for a seeker scan loop is presented for the purpose of improving scanning performances. The perturbed plant model is characterized via the normalized coprime factorization. The TDF $H_{\infty}$controller is designed based on the loop shaping design procedure and model matching approach, and its performances are evaluated and compared with those of a previous work. It is demonstrated that the proposed TDF $H_{\infty}$controller is more effective to the control of the seeker scan loop than the previous controller.oller.

  • This paper presents static output feedback LQ and $H_{\infty}$ controllers for rollover prevention. Linear quadratic static output feedback controllers have been proposed for rollover prevention in such a way to minimize the lateral acceleration and the roll angle. Rollover prevention capability can be enhanced if $H_{\infty}$ controller is designed. To avoid full-state measurement for feedback requirement or sensitiveness of an observer to nonlinear model error, static output feedback is adopted. To design static output feedback controllers, Kosut's method is adopted because it is simple to calculate. Differential braking and active anti-roll bar are adopted as actuators that generate yaw and roll moments, respectively. The proposed method is shown to be effective in preventing rollover through the simulations on nonlinear multi-body dynamic simulation software, CarSim.

  • Traditional adaptive control algorithms are not robust to dynamic uncertainties. The adaptive control algorithms developed previously to deal with dynamic uncertainties do not facilitate quantitative design. We proposed a new robust adaptive control algorithms consists of an $H^{\infty}$ suboptimal control law and a robust parameter estimator. Numerical examples showing the effectiveness of the $H^{\infty}$ adaptive scheme are provided.
