This study investigated the relationship between style of purchase behavior and search information, attitude, and behavior for energy saving. In addition, this paper classified several consumer groups based on their different styles of purchase behavior and investigated whether those groups differ in attitude and behavior for energy saving. The following is a summary of the main results. First, consumers were classified according to style of purchase behavior into a rational consumer group, a fashion- or brand-oriented group, a group uninterested in consumption, and a neutrally oriented group. Second, there were no significant differences among the four consumer groups in the amount of information search and the level of communication with other consumers related to energy-saving information; however, there were significant differences in terms of the information sources used. For example, the neutrally oriented group was more likely to use more objective information sources. Third, the level of attitude toward energy saving was more likely to be active when consumers were old and rational. Consumers with a high income, education and experience in energy saving, and an active attitude were more likely to be active in energy saving, especially in the disposal stage of purchase. Finally, attitude toward energy saving was the most influential factor in the level of energy-saving behavior.

This study was intended to assess fatigue symptoms of nurses working for general hospitals and to reveal its association with the type A behavior pattern. The self-administered questionnaires were given to 306 nurses employed in general hospitals from May, 1st to June, 30th 2011. As a results, The proportion of behavior pattern was 50.7%, of type A, and 49.3% of type B. The distribution of fatigue symptoms was 76.8% of normal group, and 23.2% of high risk group. In terms of the distribution of fatigue symptoms according to the type A behavior pattern, the normal group of fatigue symptoms was higher in the type B behavior pattern group, but the high risk group of fatigue symptoms was higher in the type A behavior pattern group. The type A behavior pattern was significant positive correlation with fatigue symptoms. In logistic regression analysis, the adjusted odds ratio of the high risk fatigue symptoms were significantly increased in the group of type A behavior pattern than type B behavior pattern. As a conclusion, fatigue symptoms was higher in the group of type A behavior pattern than the group of type B behavior pattern. Hereafter, the sustainable study would require that the relation between type A behavior pattern and fatigue symptoms to the various study subjects.
Purpose : This study was designed to describe the relationship on climacteric symptom and health behavior according to hormone replacement therapy (HRT) in climacteric women. Method : Data were collected through self-reported questionaries which were constructed to include a climacteric symptom and health behaviors of climacteric women. The subjects for this study were 135 climacteric women between 45-65 years of age living in Kuri city. Among them. 65 were in the experimental group and the other 70 were in the control group. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, $x^2-test$, ANOVA, and Pearson Correlation Coefficient. Results : The results were as follows 1) There was no significant difference on the climacteric symptom between the group of women receiving HRT and those who did not (t=1.973, p=0.162). 2) The mean health behavior score for the group of women receiving HRT was significantly higher than those who did not(t=2.557, p=0.042). 3) The climacteric symptom and health behavior were positively correlated (r=.289, p=0.015) in women receiving HRT, while these were negatively correlated (r=-.242, p=0.043) in women without HRT. 4) Women in the HRT group showed higher climacteric symptom than the those In the control group in most items. 5) The mean score for health behavior was 2.76 in the hormone replacement therapy group and 2.35 for the control group. 6) For women in the experimental group, climacteric symptom was significantly different by the level of education (F=7.371, p=.001). 7) For women in the control group, climacteric symptom was significantly different by the number of children (F=2.873, p=.044), the level of education (F=5.616, p=.006), the number of abortion (F=3.231, p=.015), and the status of menstruation (F=4.129, p=.020). 8) For women in the experimental group, health behavior was significantly different by the level of education (F=7.351, p=.001), frequency of exercise (F=8.106, p=.000), and the status of menstruation (F=3.446, p=.032), 9) For women in the control group, health behavior was significantly different by frequency of the exercise (F=7.381, p=.001). Conclusion : This study results indicated that there was no association between the HRT and climacteric symptoms, while there was positive correlations between the HRT and health behavior. Therefore. it is assumed that HRT increases the positive health behavior of women.
The purpose of the present study was to understand the clothing behavior of high school girls, and to analyze the differences of the behavior in accordance with their family self-concept and residential area. The study was implemented through a normative-descriptive survey method using a questionnaire. The survey was conducted in April 2006, and the sample consisted of 462 girls from 5 high schools. The data were analyzed by t-test, factor analysis, and cluster analysis. The results are as follows: I. In general, the family self-concept of high school girls was considerably positive, and the group from the Gangbuk area showed a more positive family self-concept than the group from Gangnam. 2. The group from Gangnam displayed a higher score in conformity, fashionability, and economy than the group from Gangbuk did. In terms of personality, the group from Gangbuk showed a higher score than the group from Gangnam. 3. The group having a more positive family self-concept showed a higher score in aspects of personality and psychological dependency. In the areas of conformity and fashionability, the group having a more positive family self-concept manifested a lower score. 4. In the case of the group having a more positive family self-concept, the girls from Gangnam, more than the group from Gangbuk, evidenced a higher score in conformity and fashionability, but showed a lower score in personality. In the case of the group having a lower score regarding family self-concept, the girls from Gangnam, more than those from Gangbuk, showed a higher score in conformity, fashionability, and economy. On the other hand, the personality score of the girls from Gangnam was lower than that of the Gangbuk group. Considering the results of the study mentioned above, it could be said that the clothing behavior of high school girls is different according to their family self-concept and residential area, and such clothing behavior could be used as a cue to understanding their family self-concept.
This study was conducted to evaluated the effects of improvement on dental health behavior and dental health knowledge of adult group through dental health education program, the study subjects were 75, education group being 37(male 19, female 18) and non-education group being 38(male 19, female 19). who being in 2 office. The results of this study were as follow: 1. In the primary survey, the education group and non-education group showed no differences in sex, age, job year, income, smoking, self-rated dental health statues, DMFT index, a number of cervical abrasion tooth, dental health behavior, dental health knowledge. 2. before education program the use of tooth brushing method of horizontal+vertical was 40.6%, after education program the use of tooth brushing method of rolling was 89.2% in education group. 3. after education program the tooth brushing times was increased after-meal brushing, especially increased from 40.5% to 93.8% at after midday meal brushing. 4. the difference of mean change of dental health knowledge score after oral health education program had been studied. dental health knowledge score increased in 9.8 in the education group and non-education group in 1.6(pE0.001). 5. the difference of mean change of oral health promotion behavior after oral health education program had been studied, the frequence of tooth brushing(pE0.05), flossing(pE0.001), tongue brushing(pE0.001) was significantly increased in education group compare to non-education group. Above findings suggest that dental health education program was effective in improving the dental health behavior, dental health knowledge of the adult group.
Purpose: This study was conducted to identify the effects of a PMS nutritional education program for college nursing students. Method: Subjects consisted of nursing students(experimental group: 19, control group: 27). The experimental group participated in a PMS nutritional education program for 8 weeks (including group and individual involvement). Data was collected before and after the education, and measurement tools were premenstrual symptoms, PMS knowledge, and self health behavior. Results: After the intervention, the experimental group showed a significant increase in PMS knowledge(Z=6.32, p=.000) and self health behavior(t=3.00, p=.004) compared to the control group. After the intervention the experimental group showed a significant increase in PMS knowledge(Z=-4.64, p=.000) and self health behavior(t=-3.04, p=.005) than before the intervention. Conclusions: These results suggest that the short term effects of a PMS nutritional education program for nursing students was proven useful and the program should be applied to PMS nutrition education for PMS clients as well as health professionals.
The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between consumer spatial behavior and consumer characteristics based on trade area selection criteria 469 female consumers who lived in the two new towns near Seoul, Bundang and Ilsan, participated in the study by completing questionnaires. Data were analyzed by using cluster analysis, ANOVA, Duncan's multiple range test, chi-square analysis, etc. The findings of the empirical research were as follows: 1. Five groups were identified by cluster analysis based on trade area selection criteria of clothing price-oriented group, time convenience-oriented group, shopping convenience-oriented group, variety/entertainment-oriented group, and passive shopping group. 2. Each group differed in spatial behavior such as clothing shopping area, the visiting frequency, and spatial movement type. 3. Each group showed differences in fashion involvement and demographic characteristics(age, marital status, education, occupation and social status).
This study examines on the relationship of appearance instrumentality and appearance-related variables (appearance concern, appearance management behavior) of college students. Questionnaires were administered to 313 college students living in Daegu. The SPSS 20.0 package was utilized for data analysis which included frequency analysis, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$, factor analysis, cluster analysis, cross tabulation analysis and t-test. Three factors of appearance instrumentality(love relationship, social achievement, interpersonal relationship), two groups of appearance concern(high, low) and five factors of appearance management behavior(skin care/cosmetics usage behavior, body management behavior, plastic surgery behavior, hair management behavior, fashion management behavior) were utilized for the problem analysis of the study. The results of this study were: First, there was no significant differences in the appearance concern group according to appearance instrumentality. Second, appearance instrumentality had a significant differences on appearance management behavior. Social achievement showed a significant differences in plastic surgery behavior. And love relationship showed a significant differences on plastic surgery behavior and fashion management behavior. Third, the appearance concern had a significant differences on all of appearance management behavior. High group of appearance concern showed a higher average than low group of appearance concern in fashion management behavior, skin care/cosmetics usage behavior, hair management behavior, plastic surgery behavior, body management behavior.
Purpose: This study was to evaluate the effects of aromatherapy and foot reflex massage on emotion, sleep disturbance and wandering behavior in older adults with dementia. Methods: This is a quasi-experimental study with a non-equivalent control group. A total of 39 participants were divided into two groups. Aromatherapy and foot reflex massage was administrated to experimental group (N=19). There was no treatment for the control group (N=20). Data were analyzed using the SPSS/Win 18.0 program. Results: Experimental group showed significant differences in emotion, sleep disturbance and wandering behavior in comparison to the control group. Conclusion: The results showed that aromatherapy and foot reflex massage program was effective on emotion, sleep and decreasing a wandering behavior in older adults with dementia. This research suggests that aromatherapy and foot reflex massage could be recommended as a nursing intervention for enhancing quality of life in older adults with dementia.
This study was to find whether the educational program contributed to the increase of knowledge, confidence, and accuracy of behavior in newborn care of the primiparas. The educational program consistes of individual lectures, demostrations, discussion, and practice of newborn care. Also two telephone counseling with the subjects after they are discharged from hospital. This study is a quasi-experimental design using non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design. Data collection was done from July 21 to Oct 4 in 1997. The subjects were selected from 2 general hospitals and 1 university hosipital in C city, Subjects were 44 primiparas(control group 22, experimental group 22). they were tested on knowledge, confidence, and accuracy of behavior in newborn care. A pretest was done 2-3 days after vaginal delivary(5-6 days after c-sec delivary). A posttest was done 21-28 day(vaginal delivary, c-sec delivary) after delivary. The instruments used for this study were knowledge scale about newbon care developed by the reserarcher, Pharis' confidence scale modified by the researcher and accuracy of behavior scale developed by the reserarcher. Primiparas' knowledge and confidence was tested by questionnaire and Primiparas' accuracy of behavior was tested by structured observational method. Analysis of data was done by using of χ²- test, t -test, paired t -test. The results of this study are summarized as follows : 1) Knowledge of the experimental group was significant higher than the control group(t=-4.94, P=.000). 2) Confidence of the experimental group was significant higher than the control group(t=-.262, P=.012). 3) Accuracy of behavior of the experimental group was significant higher than the control group (t=-.969, P=.000). In conclusion, the newborn care education along with intensive telephon counseling shows a significant promotion of newbon care in primiparas. Thus this program can be recommended as an intervention model for the newborn and primiparas.
