This study was aimed to explore the level of awareness of Korean teachers and college students towards sustainable development(SD) and education for sustainable development(ESD). A survey was conducted to understand the present status of awareness of SD and ESD among 317 college students and 625 teachers in Korea from April to May of 2005. The questionnaire included items asking whether they heard about terms such as sustainability or sustainable development, the source of information on SD, the level of understanding or the urgent task for SD in Korea. It also included questions about experiences in participating in or conducting ESD, the need for ESD, important areas in and the modality for ESD and the willingness to participate in ESD. The results showed that the level of awareness on SD among teachers was low compared to college students, who have a relatively high level of access on SD issues through textbooks and classes in high school. Interestingly, most of college students replied that they never received any ESD, even though they learned SD in class. Both the teacher and student group thought that tile priority of sustainable development should be an 'environment-related' area in the social, economical and environmental perspectives. Most of the students and teachers considered the concept of SD as 'pursuing the balance between environmental protection and economic development.' Some of the teachers recognized the concept of sustainable development in the paradigm of continuous economic development. Both groups responded that the urgent task related to sustainable development is 'environmental protection' and the 'reduction of poverty.' On the other hand, they had experiences in teaching related to natural resources, gender equity, health, human rights, climate changes and other SD issues in class, but not under the name of ESD. They also emphasized 'critical thinking and problem solving & decision-making' in education. Most of the students and teachers responded that it was needed to carry out ESD, and that the way of life for SD would be the priority. It is suggested that various pedagogy and modalities according to various target groups should be considered in providing ESD. It is necessary to use more effective strategies for ESD rather than just introducing the concept of SD. Also, it is needed to review the ESD practices of teachers and improve the quality of education within the scope of ESD.
This research focuses on the development of gifted child behavior checklist which feasibly has application on the nation-wide gifted children observation-recommendation method. Corresponding measure has significance as it reflects actual observations of teachers teaching gifted children first-hand and involves measure of importance regarding each characteristic. An open survey on gifted children behavior characteristics lists and specific behavior patterns has been acquired from teachers in gifted education, and the checklist was developed through expert group review, pre-test, and confirmatory factor analysis process. The former checklists have shown several difficulties on application of observation-recommendation on the field due to behaviors that can't be observed in school, less important behaviors, and collide and duplicate behaviors etc. With regard to such problems, problematic clauses were removed based on the observation probability and importance of the behaviors. Ultimately, total of 32 behavior characteristic checklist consisting of ten sub factors(logical thinking, high achievement, originality, perfectionism, creative problem solving, curiosity, task commitment, conversation ability, creativity, passion) and two to three questions on each factor had been drawn. Through internal consistency test and item-total score correlation, each item of the measure has been analyzed to be consistently evaluating corresponding variables. In addition, the result of confirmatory factor analysis showed every item to be weighed appropriately on its sub-factor, strongly suggesting its feasibility on observation-recommendation of elementary gifted children as an appropriate checklist.

The purpose of this study is analysis of to investigate relation proportion problem of mathematics textbooks of 7th curriculum to proportional reasoning(relative thinking, unitizing, partitioning, ratio sense, quantitative and change, rational number) of Lamon's proposal at sixth grade students. For this study, I develop two test papers; one is for proportion problem of mathematics textbooks test paper and the other is for proportional reasoning test paper which is devided in 6 by Lamon. I test it with 2 group of sixth graders who lived in different region. After that I analysis their correlation. The result of this study is following. At proportion problem of mathematics textbooks test, the mean score is 68.7 point and the score of this test is lower than that of another regular tests. The percentage of correct answers is high if the problem can be solved by proportional expression and the expression is in constant proportion. But the percentage of correct answers is low, if it is hard to student to know that the problem can be expressed with proportional expression and the expression is not in constant proportion. At proportion reasoning test, the highest percentage of correct answers is 73.7% at ratio sense province and the lowest percentage of that is 16.2% at quantitative and change province between 6 province. The Pearson correlation analysis shows that proportion problem of mathematics textbooks test and proportion reasoning test has correlation in 5% significance level between them. It means that if a student can solve more proportion problem of mathematics textbooks then he can solve more proportional reasoning problem, and he have same ability in reverse order. In detail, the problem solving ability level difference between students are small if they met similar problem in mathematics text book, and if they didn't met similar problem before then the differences are getting bigger.
Disgust is caused by human being incompleteness and also its denial. Therefore the understanding of disgust is concerned with the understanding of humans. Thinking critically about disgust, we can solve the problems of disgust and reflect on our limitations. I will refer to Nussbaum's view which finds out in "projective disgust" an antipathy to human fault and a wish for completeness. This article is interested in the fact that disgust is not only a rejective feeling of a person but also a collective emotion which is connected with an antagonistic relationship and power exercise. Specifically, this article focuses on the point that disgust is mobilized to maintain a dominative relationship between humans. This is associated with the inner characteristics of disgust because disgust in itself contains a one-sided perspective, exclusiveness, hierarchy, and domination. This article aims to reveal a collusion between disgust and domination. For the purpose we will pay attention to two basic inclinations which are immanent in disgust; purity and exclusion, while relying on Nussbaum's view of disgust. In accordance with this analysis, this article will specificity treat disgust which can be summarized as an ideological function of emotion and its violent tendency. Then, we can ensure that disgust threats the equal and dignitary worth of human beings and hinders the diversity and rationality of a liberal society. In addition, it will be emphasized that disgust should not be used as an ideology which discriminates and suppresses a specific group in a society.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of podcast-produced reading activity programs on reading attitudes and communication skills of high-grade elementary school students. To that end, 20 fifth and sixth graders applied for a reading culture program conducted at N Public Library located in Seoul, Korea, were assigned as experimental and control groups. The total research period is from 8 October 2018 to 11 February 2019. and the class was conducted once a week for 90 minutes, six times for each group, and a total of 12 sessions. The results of this study can be summarized as follows; First, it was found that the reading activity program produced by podcast had a positive effect in all four areas: value domain, motivation·interest domain, habit·attitude, and expectation domain in the reading attitude of high-grade in elementary school. Second, communication skills were found to have a positive effect in all seven sub-areas, such as information collection and listening, overcoming stereotyped thinking, creative communication, self-disclosure, leading communication, and understanding of others' perspectives. In conclusion, the podcast-produced reading activity program had a positive effect on the reading attitude, communication ability, and media ability of high-grade in elementary school, suggesting that it is effective in applying various educational fields.
Paradoxically, leadership has not only positive effects but also negative effects. The purpose of this study is to examine supervisors' dysfunctional leadership behaviors, antecedents and results in order to draw HRD implications for protecting organizations and employees from dysfunctional leaders and provide implications for leadership development. A qualitative research method based on semi-organized interviews with 28 employees from S-group was used. The results of this study show that the dysfunctional leadership behaviors were associated with ten behavioral categories: belittling and insulting the subordinates, authoritative and arbitrary behaviors, self-aggrandizement, biased preference for certain personnel, arrogance, micro-managing, inability to change and adapt, discordance between words and actions, over-dependance on supervisor, lack of ethics and values. Dysfunctional leadership behaviors were casually attributed to 'personal traits & experience', 'task characteristics', and 'internal & external environments of the organization'. Finally, the results of supervisor's dysfunctional leadership behaviors on employees and the organizational effects were 'increased turnover rate', 'declining work efficiency', 'collapsing morale', 'retraining innovative thinking', 'passive working culture', 'discouraging organizational vitality', 'discouraging organizational synergy', 'losing loyalty' and 'declining trust on supervisor'.
Objective: The study wanted to find out what changes the mother, who is the main parent of the severely disabled children, experienced in their lives through the use of day hospitals and child care services, and what difficulties they had, and discussed policy practical improvements that could satisfy both the medical and developmental needs of the severely disabled. Methods: The participants of the study were 9 mothers of a child with severe disabilities who had experience using hospitals and kindergarten. They were recruited by snowball sampling method. Focus group interview and individual interview were conducted. Results: As a result of the analysis, the mother of severely handicapped child gradually began to seek the balance of life as her child grew and became aware of the institution other than the day hospital. - (e.g) Although I was distracted and worried for the first time, I was gradually adjusting to the time away from my child thinking positively. Children with severe disabilities were also positively influenced by various experiences. They become to show som positive behavior or feeling such as brightening facial expressions or smile as they were using daycare centers or kindergartens in addition to daytime hospitals. Conclusion/Implications: Through the results of this study, comprehensive policy proposals on child care, welfare, and medical care were discussed.

I already wrote a thesis about A Study of Ideologies and Stylistic Features of the Oral Narratives in a Collection of Lee, Duck Moo's Works(ChungJangKwanJunseo)" in The Classical Literature and Education Vol.11, (2006). At that time I held over a study of figure's episodes. So this essay is a series of the thesis. In this essay, I described his critical ideas about the figure's episodes of other people. I classified as the gentry's episodes and the common's episodes, and ones more classified these as the Confucian's moral episodes and the oddity's strange episodes. And I studied the narrative principles and features of narrative structure. He asked for a reasonal thinking attitude in the figure's episodes of other people. In his the gentry's episodes he indicated as a important value the constant attitude of propriety and dignity. The other hand, in his the common's episodes he thought importantly a practical act of the Confucian's moral. He showed man's equality and criticized the anti-practical attitude of the gentry group. In the oddity's strange episodes were focused on the super ability of figures in the both of groups. And then even though there are unreal or unreasonable contents in the oddity's strange episodes, he did not criticize. His such attitude was came out to take interest in unreal story like the Paesasopeum(稗史小品). The the narrative principles of his episodes are two types, one is a summary or a report type, the other is a descriptive of events type. the former was explained by narrater, the latter was described as the indirect or direct narration of the characters. In the structure of narrative in case a summary type were enumerated with the episodes, but in case a report or descriptive type of events were contrasted with characters. A story-telling way of figure's episodes borrowed from 'Jeon(傳)' or 'Yadam(野談)' genre. And a point of view in case a summary or a report type was consisted with a center of narrater, in case a descriptive of events type was consisted with a center of witness.
To examine the limitations of the the Blosser's (1973) 'Question Category System for Science', which is mainly applied to research in science education in Korea, we analyzed 30 hours of class conversation in a small group program (for first-year middle school students) with a researcher participating as a teacher. When classified according to Blosser's (1973) classification system, distinguishing between 'open and closed questions' was difficult. Questions with the same content were classified into different types depending on their context, whereas some questions could not be classified appropriately. Additionally, higher-level questions (open questions) were not more effective than lower-level questions (closed questions) in improving students' thinking ability or participation in class. The questionnaire's effect differed depending on the information provided by the teacher before questioning, and in many cases, previous question influenced the next questions. However, in the science education questionnaire research based on Blosser's (1973) classification, which is mainly conducted in Korea, each individual question is classified according to the cognitive level, disregarding the influence of context and prior and subsequent questions and the quality of instructions is evaluated by the frequency of higher level questioning. The results of this study indicate that the method of evaluating instruction quality based on the frequency of high-level questioning, which is currently conducted in domestic science education inquiry research, should be avoided.

In this study, we analyzed the types of rebuttals in the argument structure of learning contents in lesson plans constructed by Earth science preservice teachers, and then we explored examples of how they responded to resolving the rebuttal. As a result of analyzing preservice teachers' assignments, discussions, and interviews collected during a total of 20 hours of classes and group discussions for 5 weeks, all 5 types of rebuttals suggested by Verheij (2005) were identified. Through the data analysis, a total of 18 rebuttal cases derived, and these cases were classified into 3 types according to how preservice teachers solve the rebuttals in class. The conclusions and implications based on the results are as follows: First, this study provided empirical data that the thinking process of validating core elements of argumentation and processes of argumentation is actively taking place in preservice teachers' lesson planning using the argument structure, and expanded the scope of application of argumentation in science education research. Second, the argument structure of learning contents should be used to help teachers to come up with strategies to induce students' curiosity and devotion to learn science contents. Third, preservice teachers should have the opportunity to think about the nature of science, including the variability and uncertainty of scientific knowledge when they discover rebuttals and develop solutions to them. Based on these conclusions, implications and suggestions for science education and further research were suggested.
