Fast Sequential Least Squares Design of FIR Filters with Linear Phase (고속순차 최소자승법에 의한 선형위상 유한응답 여파기의 설계)

  • In this paper we propose a fast adaptive least squares algorithm for linear phase FIR filters. The algorithm requires 10m multiplications per data point where m is the filter order. Both linear phase cases with constant phase delay and constant group delay are examined. Simulation results demonstrate that the proeposed algorithm is superior to the LMS gradient algorithm and the averaging scheme used for the modified fast Kalman algorithm.

THE EFFCT OF TIME DELAY AFTER SILICOATING ON THE BOND STRENGTH BETWEEN THE METAL AND RESIN CEMENT (Silicoating후 시간지연이 금속과 레진 시멘트 간의 접착강도에 미치는 영향)

  • For the purpose of this study, the silicoating on Ni-Cr-Be alloy surface was carried out by using the Silicoater MD. The effect of time delay after silicoating on the bond strength between the metal and resin cement was examined. The groups were divided into 4 : group 1 : Sandblasted with $250{\mu}m$ aluminium oxide, immediatly cemented group 2 : Sandblasted with $250{\mu}m$ aluminium oxide, silicoated and immediatly cemented group 3 : Sandblasted with $250{\mu}m$ aluminium oxide, silicoated and cemented after 7 days group 4 : Sandblasted with $250{\mu}m$ aluminium oxide, silicoated and coated with unfilled resin and cemented after 7 days Specimens were luted with Comspan, Superbond C&B or Panavia EX. The tensile bond strength between the metal and resin cement was measured by using the universal testing machine. The results were as follows : 1. The bond strength in groups 2, 3 and 4 was higher than that of group 1 (p<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference among the bond strength in groups 2, 3 and 4 (p>0.05). 2. In Comspan-cemented groups, there was no significant difference among the bond strength in groups 2, 3 and 4 (p<0.05). 3. In Panavia EX-cemented groups, the bond strength of group 3 was higher than that of group 2 (p<0.05) and there was no significant difference between groups 3 and 4. 4. In Superbond C&B-cemented groups, there was significant difference between groups 2 and 3 (p<0.05) and the bond strength of group 4 was higher than that of group 3 (p<0.05). 5. The highest tensile bond strength was obtained by using the Superbond C&B and no difference in the Panavia EX and Comspan. 6. The modes of bond failure were mainly cohesive failure. The method of storage and transport indicated in this study seems recommendable for laboratory and clinical use at least up to 7 days.

Antitumor effect of Ganoderma lucidum : Cytotoxicity and Tumor Growth Delayt(1) (영지버섯의 항암효과 :세포독성과 종양의 성장억제에 미치는 영향(1))

  • Purpose :. To investigate the effect of aqueous extract of Ganoderma lucidum(G.I.) on the surival of tumor cells in vitro and on the growth of tumors in vivo. Materials and Methods : Dried G.I. was made into powder, extracted with distilled water, filtered and diluted from a maximum concentration of 100 mg/ml in sequence. The cytotoxicity of G.I, in vitro was evaluated from its ability to reduce the clonogenicity of SCK tumor cells. For the tumor growth delay study, about $2{\times}10^5$$ of SCK tumor cells were subcutaneously inoculated in the legs of A/J mice. The first experimental group of mice were injected i.p. with 0.2ml of 250 mg/kg of G.I. from the first day after tomor inoculation for 10 days. The second experimental group of mice were injected i.p. with 0.2ml of 250 mg/kg of G.I. either once a day for 10 days or twice a day for 5 days beginining from the 7th day after tumor inoculation Results : 1. Cytotoxicity in vitro;survival fraction, as judged from the curve, at G.I. concentration of 0.5, 1,5, 10, 25, 50 and 100 mg/ml were 1.0, $0.74{\pm}0.03$, $0.18{\pm}0.03$, $0.15{\pm}0.02$, $0.006{\pm}0.002$, 0.015 and 0.0015, respectively. 2. Tumor growth delay in vivo; a) the time required for the mean tumor volume to grow to $1,000mm^3$ was 11 days in the control group and 14 days in the experimental group. b) the time required for tumor volume to increase 4 times was 11 days in the control group while it was 10.5 and 12 days in the groups injected with G.I. once a day and twice a day from the 7th day after tumor inoculation respectively. Conclusion : Aqueous extracts of G.I. showed a marked cytotoxicity on the SCK mammary cells in vitro. Tumor growth delay was statistically signiricant when G.I. in-jection was started soon after tumor inoculation, but it was not significant when injection was started after the tumors were firmly established.

Performance Analysis of Group Communication using VoIP in WiBro Networks (와이브로망에서 VoIP를 이용한 그룹통신 서비스 성능분석)

  • MBS (Multicast Broadcast Service) is defined in WiBro networks for implementing multicast-based services. However, most of the WiBro networks currently used in Korea do not have the MBS functionality and it causes some difficulty in implementing multicast-based services. This paper evaluates the performance of VoIP-based group communication services when implementing using the following two cases: unicast-based and multicast-based group communication systems. The performance evaluation is done using QualNet for each case in terms of the amount of network resource for the service, the delay and delay jitter of packets, and the difference of the delay of members in a group. The simulation result shows that the number of groups and members in a group in a WiBro network is limited because the amount of network resource for the service is increased according to the number of members in a group, and so, the MBS service is required in a WiBro network for a fully-fledged service of VoIP-based group communications. The simulation result also shows that, when a packet bundling is used, the number of groups and members in a group that can be supported in a WiBro network can be increased due to the decrease of the amount of network resource for the service.

  • The IEEE 802.11 Distributed Coordination Function(DCF) protocol provides a contention-based distribution channel access mechanism for stations to share the wireless medium. However, the performance of the DCF drops dramatically in terms of throughput, delay and delay jitter as the number of active stations becomes large. In this paper, we propose a simple and effective scheme, called DCF/VG(Distributed Coordination Function with Virtual Group), for improving the performance of the IEEE 802.11 DCF mechanism. In this scheme, each station independently decides the virtual group cycle using the information provided by the carrier sensing mechanism. The virtual group cycle consists of one or more virtual groups and a virtual group includes an idle period and a busy period. Each station operates in only one out of several virtual groups of the virtual group cycle and does not operate in the others. In other words, each station decreases its backoff counter and tries to transmit a packet only in its virtual group like the IEEE 802.11 DCF. Performance of the proposed scheme is investigated by numerical analysis and simulation. Numerical and simulation results show that the proposed scheme is very effective and has high throughput and low delay and jitter under a wide range of contention level.

An Implementation of Digital Crossover Network by using Perfect Linear Phase IIR Filters

  • In this paper, the implementation technique of digital crossover network using perfect linear phase IIR filters is presented. This system has various advantages which cannot be obtained from analog crossover network such as linear phase response, flat group delay and sharp cut-off at low-order over audio frequency band. The simulation results show that the group delay response is maximally flat and twice more attenuation in stop-band than the prototype elliptic IIR filter at all desired frequency.

  • This paper has been proposed an audio DAC structure composed of FIRs and IIR filters as digital interpolation filter to integrate the off-chip analog low-pass filter on-a-chip. The passband ripple(< 0.41${\times}$fs), passband attenuation(at 0.41${\times}$fs) and stopband attenuation(> 0.59${\times}$fs) of the Δ$\Sigma$ modulator output using the proposed digital interpolation filter had ${\pm}$ 0.001 [㏈], -0.0025[㏈] and -75[㏈], respectively. Also the inband group delay was 30.07/fs[s] and the error of group delay was 0.1672%. Also, the attenuation of stopband has been increased -20[㏈] approximately at 65[㎑], out-of-band. Therefore the RC products of analog low-pass filter on chip have been decreased compared with the conventional digital interpolation filter structure.

  • This paper investigates the Performance of MSA l (group partition based reservation scheduling algorithm) and MSA ll (group based reservation scheduling algorithm) for multicast service in single-hop WDM networks. Simulation results show that MSA l produces lower mean packet delay than MSA ll when the channel resource is sufficient. However, when the channel resource is limited, MSA ll produces lower mean packet delay than MSA I when traffic load is heavy.

  • Multiple types of information in a multimedia service are delivered though multiple virtual connections on ATM network, while each virtual connection may be controlled independently. A multimedia service requires an associative relationship among multiple information streams to provide required harmonization. There may be required additional traffic descriptors to guarantee the required harmonization among multiple information streams in a multimedia service. For buffering of large bandwidth information stream(e.g., video), extremely large buffer size is necessary, but this approach should not be efficient way to compensate a severely delayed cells/blocks experienced at network. The best way to solve this problem will be minimization of relative-delayed-transfer of cells/blocks to application processes through ATM network control. To minimize a delayed transfer the mapping between relative delay parameter(i.e., associative Group QoS parameters) and per-VC traffic descriptor will be necessary. This paper is present additional functions and parameters to interpret the mapping between relative delay parameters(i.e., associative Group QoS parameters) and per-VC traffic descriptors in ATM API for multimedia application services.

  • 본 논문에서는 탭 입력 Interdigital Stripline 형태의 군지연 선형화기를 설계하였다. Even 과 Odd mode에 대해 Pole-Zero Method를 적용하여 선형화기를 최적화하는 방법을 제시하였고, 이를 LTCC 기술을 이용하여 제작하기위해 Tap coupling 과 Via, 1/4파장이하의 결합선로 특성까지 고려한 최적화를 수행하여, 2.14GHz에서 160MHz 대역폭에 ${\pm}0.1nS$의 Group delay Variation을 갖는 4단의 선형화기를 설계하였다.
