Objectives: Arachidonic acid is control the thromboxane A2 (TXA2) and prostacycline (PGI2) synthesis, TXA2 increase lead to thrombus produced by induces platelet aggregation and vasoconstriction. Angelicae gigantis radix (RAR) is mainly used blood deficiency and stagnation. In previous studies, RAR has been reported that a vasodilating and blood clotting delay effects. In this study, investigate that anti-oxidant and anti-thrombotic effects of RAR by heat-process.Methods: The heated angelicae gigantis radix sample were made by 140, 180, and 220 ℃ and 4, 6, 9 and 12 min using water or 30% ethanol. The anti-oxidant effects were measured by total polyphenol, total flavonoid, DPPH and ABTS radical scavening activation. Anti-thrombotic effect conducted in samples that are determined to be effective through the anti-oxidant experiment such as angelicae gigantis radix roasted 180℃, and 220℃ and angelicae gigantis radix roasted with 30% ethanol 180℃, and 220℃.Results: Anti-oxidant parameters were efficacious in high temperature roasted AR. Also AR and EAR increased a inhibitory activity of FXa compared with RAR. The blood coagulation time of administration groups were significantly increased compare with control group. The TXB2 was significantly decreased in AR and EAR.Conclusions : We confirmed that whether AR and EAR administration has anti-oxidant and anti-thrombotic effect or not. As the results, AR and EAR were improved anti-oxidant effects and blood biochemistry compare with control group. This study provides scientific evidence that AR and EAR are have an anti-oxidant effect and anti-thrombotic effect, it expected that there is no difference between the two.
The objective of this study was to develop new self-organized nanogels as a means of drug delivery in patients with cancer. Pullulan (PUL) and deoxycholic acid (DOCA) were conjugated through an ester linkage between the hydroxyl group in PUL and the carboxyl group in DOCA. Three types of PUL/DOCA conjugates were obtained, differing in the number of DOCA substitutions (DS; 5, 8, or 11) per 100 PUL anhydroglucose units. The physicochemical properties of the resulting nanogels were characterized by dynamic light scattering, transmission electron microscopy, and fluorescence spectroscopy. The mean diameter of DS 11 was the smallest (approx. 100 nm), and the size distribution was unimodal. To determine the organizing behavior of these conjugates, we calculated their critical aggregation concentrations (CACs) in a 0.01-M phosphate buffered saline solution. They were $10.5{\times}10^{-4}mg/mL,\;7.2{\times}10^{-4} mg/mL,\;and\;5.6{\times}10^{-4} mg/mL$ for DS 5, 8, and 11, respectively. This indicates that DOCA can serve as a hydrophobic moiety to create self-organized nanogels. To monitor the drug-releasing behavior of these nanogels, we loaded doxorubicin (DOX) onto the conjugates. The DOX-loading efficiency increased with the degree of DOCA substitution. The release rates of DOX from PUL/DOCA nanogels varied inversely with the DS. We concluded that the PUL/DOCA nanogel has some potential for use as an anticancer drug carrier because of its low CAC and satisfactory drug-loading capacity.

XML is the most popular platform-independent data expression which is used to communicate between loosely coupled heterogeneous systems such as B2B Applications or Workflow systems. The powerful query language XQuery has been developed to support diverse needs for querying XML documents. XQuery is designed to configure results from diverse data sources into a uniquely structured query result. Therefore, it became the standard for the XML query language. Although the latest XQuery supports heavy search functions including iterations, the grouping mechanism for data is too primitive and makes the query expression difficult and complex. Therefore, this work is focused on supporting the groupby clause in the query expression to process XQuery grouping. We suggest it to be a more efficient way to process grouping for restructuring and aggregation functions on XML data. We propose an XQuery EBNF that includes the groupby clause and implemented an XQuery processing system with grouping functions based on the eXist Native XML Database.

BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: Understanding the mechanism of chewing and swallowing food is important when creating a proper diet for older adults. This study investigated whether texture-modified model foods can reduce the difference in chewing and swallowing parameters between healthy community-living young and older adults. SUBJECTS/METHODS: In total, 35 older and 20 young adults (mean age: 75 and 25 years, respectively), matched for sex and number of teeth, were recruited and their unstimulated salivation and tongue pressure were measured. Simultaneous assessment of chewing and swallowing characteristics was conducted using surface electromyography and a videofluoroscopic swallowing study while the participants ingested 8 g of model food with one to four levels of hardness. RESULTS: The average tongue pressure and salivation among older adults were 61% and 49.7%, respectively, of the corresponding values observed in young adults. The older adult group used significantly (P < 0.05) increased muscle force with more chewing cycles (P < 0.05) than the young adult group, which was maintained even when consuming foods with the lowest hardness, although without chewing. However, the age effect on oral processing time existed only for the hardest foods. Swallowing difficulties among older adults were demonstrated by the significant increase in vallecula aggregation time. The total food intake duration was significantly (P < 0.05) longer in older adults than in young adults, regardless of food hardness. CONCLUSIONS: There were measurable differences in the process of chewing and swallowing food between young and older adults, which can be improved with food hardness control. Adjusting food hardness may help food intake in healthy older adults.

In this study, three-dimensional (3D) networks structure using single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) for Si-graphite composite electrode was developed and studied about effects on the electrochemical performances. To investigate the effect of SWCNTs on forming a conductive 3D network structure electrode, zero-dimensional (0D) carbon black and different SWCNTs composition electrode were compared. It was found that SWCNTs formed a conductive network between nano-Si and graphite particles over the entire area without aggregation. The formation of 3D network structure enabled to effective access for lithium ions leading to improve the c-rate performance, and provided cycle stability by alleviating the Si volume expansion from flexibility and buffer space. The results of this study are expected to be applicable to the electrode design for high-capacity lithium-ion batteries.
This study was designed to investigate the effect of supplementation of fish oil on serum apoprotein and platelet function in healthy young females. Eighteen female college students were divided into 3 groups. Each group fed a typical Korean diet supplemented with 15g, 12g, and 9g of fish oil respectively for 1-week. Blood samples were obtained 4 times, before supplementation, immediately after, 1-week after and 3-week after stopping supplementation. After 6-week break, the doses of fish oil were interchanged among 3 groups and the experiment was repeated to reduce interindividual variation. The concentration of apoprotein A, apoprotein B in the serum samples and the platelet adhesion, the platelet aggregation and bleeding time were determined immediately after supplementation of fish oil, 1-week after and 3-week after stopping supplementation and then the value compared with those of before supplementation period. The results obtained are summarized as follows: Serum apoprotein A levels decreased significantly(p<0.05), immediately after supplementation of fish oil in the 15g group. The serum apoprotein B levels did not show significant change. The platelet adhesion decreased significantly(p<0.05) 1-week after supplementation of fish oil in the 15g group. The platelet aggregation decreased significantly(p<0.01) immedeately after supplementation of fish oil in the 15g group.
The data cube is an aggregation operator that computes group-bys for all possible combination of dimension attributes. %on the number of the dimension attributes is n, a data cube computes $2^n$ group-bys. Each group-by in a data cube is called a cuboid. Data cubes are often precomputed and stored as materialized views in data warehouses. These data cubes need to be updated when source relation change. The incremental maintenance of a data cube is to compute and propagate only its changes. To compute the change of a data cube of $2^n$ cuboids, previous works compute a delta cube that has the same number of cuboids as the original data cube. Thus, as the number of dimension attributes increases, the cost of computing a delta cube increases significantly. Each cuboid in a delta cube is called a delta cuboid. In this paper. we propose an incremental cube maintenance method that can maintain a data cube by using only $_nC_{{\lceil}n/2{\rceil}}$ delta cuboids. As a result, the cost of computing a delta cube is substantially reduced. Through various experiments, we show the performance advantages of our method over previous methods.

In this study aims to investigate the radiation protection effect of avocado peel extracts on the Sprague-Dawely rats. 52 male rats were randomly classified into 4 groups. NC Group was a normal control group, PA Group was a group injected avocado peel extracts, IR Group was irradiated group, and lastly PA+IR Group was set as an irradiated group after injected of avocado peel extracts. Avocado peel extract was administered orally at 200 mg/kg once a day for 14 days before irradiation, and the radiation dose was systemically irradiated with 6 MV X-ray of 7 Gy. On the 4 and 21 days after irradiation, the experimental animals were sacrificed to evaluate the change in blood cell composition, spleen index, and histopathological evaluation of the liver and small intestine. As a result, the PA+IR Group showed a significantly greater recovery of lymphocytes(p<0.01), red blood cells(p<0.01), and platelets(p<0.05) than the IR Group. It was also confirmed that the activation of Superoxide Dismutase(SOD) was further increased. Histopathologically, observed that nuclei aggregation and cytoplasmic expansion were slightly reduced in the PA+IR Group in the liver. and the damage was significantly reduce(p<0.01) in the change of villi length due to damage to the small intestine cells. Based on the above results, avocado peel extract can be expected to act as a radiation protection agent that can reduce damage to blood cells and major organs caused by irradiation.
An experimental comparative study was done to determine the protective effects of three preservation solutions on isolated rabbit heart-lung bloc during acute ischemia and reperfusion of the lung during lung transplantation. Thirty Isolated rabbit heart-lung blocs were divided into 3 groups , group I(n:9) was preserved with Hartmann's solution, group II(n: 10) with modified University of Wisconsin solution, and group III(n: 1 1) with Kosin solution. The isolated heart-lung blocs were washed with Hartmann's so ution. Aftar infusion of each preservation solution into pulmonary artery, the heart-lung bloc was stored at 4'c cold preservation solution for each group for 4 hours and .then the heart-lung blocs were reventilated and reperfused. The changes of weight of heart-lung blocs, airway pressure, percent change of PCO2, level of lactate and adenosine deaminase(ADA) and microscopic structure of the lung parenchyme were evaluated. Results were as follows 1. A change of weight of the heart lung bloc after reperfusion was lowest in group 111(p< .05) 2. The airway pressure increased after reperfusion in group I but decreased in group II, and II. Especially in group II, post-reperfusion airway pressure returned to level lower than that of en-bloc resection. 3. Pulmonary artery pressure during reperfusion after 4 hour preservation was lowest in group III, and pulmonary artery pressure in group II was higher than in group I(P> 0.1). 4. The level of lactate and ADA in the lung tissue were higher in group III than in group I and II(P< .05) 5. The percent change of PCO2 in perfusate was slightly higher in group III than group I and II. 6. Microscopic changes in lung tissue after reperfusion were diffuse pulmonary edema, expansion of inter- stitial tissue, focal aggregation of erythrocytes, and basement membrane abnormalities, but no differences were found among the three groups. In conclusion, the protective effects of modified University of Wisconsin solution and Kosin solution were slightly superior to Hartmann's solution.
The increasing complexity of the socio-economic environments makes it less and less possible for single decision-maker to consider all relevant aspects of problem. Therefore, many organizations employ groups in decision making. In this paper, we present a multiperson decision making method using fuzzy logic with linguistic quantifier when each of group members specifies imprecise judgments possibly both on performance evaluations of alternatives with respect to the multiple criteria and on the criteria. Inexact or vague preferences have appeared in the decision making literatures with a view to relaxing the burdens of preference specifications imposed to the decision-makers and thus taking into account the vagueness of human judgments. Allowing for the types of imprecise judgments in the model, however, makes more difficult a clear selection of alternative(s) that a group wants to make. So, further interactions with the decision-makers may proceed to the extent to compensate for the initial comforts of preference specifications. These interactions may not however guarantee the selection of the best alternative to implement. To circumvent this deadlock situation, we present a procedure for obtaining a satisfying solution by the use of linguistic quantifier guided aggregation which implies fuzzy majority. This is an approach to combine a prescriptive decision method via a mathematical programming and a well-established approximate solution method to aggregate multiple objects.
