This paper presents the technique to develop an operational flight program(OFP) of avionic system computer(ASC) which integrates the avionics control, navigation and fire control and provides informations for flight, navigation and weapon aiming missions. For the development of the OFP of ASC, two i960KB chips are used as central processing units board and standard computer interface library(SCIL) which is built in house is used. The Irvine compiler corporation(ICC) integrated development environment(IDE) and the programming language Ada95 are used for the OFP development. We designed the OFP to a computer software configuration item(CSCI) which consists of to three parts for independency of software modules. The OFP has been verified through a series of flight tests. The relevant tests also have been rigorously conducted on the OFP such as software integrated test, and ground functional test.

For the commercialization of unmanned aircraft, we must validate the safety of the air/ground collision alert systems (CAS). The validation procedure of CAS requires the flight test which is not only expensive but also dangerous. To alleviate this problem, we need the simulation based validation process for the CAS. We developed an integrated UAV simulation (IUS) environment which interconnect the flight simulator, the Matlab/Simulink, and a target avionics simulation model. We developed the collision warning module of the TCAS and tested using IUS and flight encounter models. Using IUS, we can evaluate the performance and reliability of a target avionic system at the preliminary design stage of a development life cycle.
The line-telemetry data processing system is necessary for monitoring the status of each onboard systems of KSLV-I upper stage during the ground tests and launch preparation. The mission of line-telemetry system is to provide reference telemetry data and to monitor the status of upper stage. The line-telemetry data processing system consists of a PCM acquisition/processing server, a system management server, and 9 monitoring consoles. In this paper, we will describe the overview of onboard remote measurement system, the design of the line-telemetry data processing system, anomaly setup information for indicating alarm signal in case of abnormal occurrence, and the result of the ground test and flight test.
LEO Satellite performs the operations and missions by FSW(Flight Software) after separation from a launch vehicle. Many of the operations by FSW are automatically conducted by the algorithms of FSW. In the case of the IAC(Initial Activation and Checkout) operations, a mission scheduling, an orbit transition, etc, however, a decision and a control of the satellite operators or manufacturers are required in order to operate the satellite safely. For this, the wireless communication channel between a satellite and a ground station should be prepared to receive telemetries and to transmit tele-commands for controlling FSW properly. Therefore, the verification of the interface between KOMPSAT-3 and a ground station is essential. This verification test is named the satellite end-to-end test. In this paper, we show the design process of the satellite end-to-end test and test results.

After the successful flight test of X-43A, U.S. Airforce is developing missile-type X-51A SED (Scramjet Engine Demonstrator-Wave Rider). X-51A using PWR (Pratt and Whitney Rocketdyne) X-1 hydrocarbon fueled scramjet engine will have a ground test in 2008 and flight test in 2009. Technologies established though the X-51A program will be transferred to DARPA's Falcon program developing HTV (Hypersonic Test Vehicle)-3X and HCV (Hypersonic Cruise Vehicle). Present paper is an overview of propulsion core technologies of X-51 such as regenerative cooling of engine structures and combustion using liquid/supercritical JP-7 fuel.
This study aims to determine how agricultural drones are operated for flight tests using a 5G communication in order to carry out a mission such as sensing agricultural crop healthy status with special cameras. Drones were installed with a multi-spectral and IR camera to capture images of crop status in separate altitudes with different speeds. A multi-spectral camera can capture crop image data using five different particular wavelengths with a built-in GPS so that captured images with synchronized time could provide better accuracy of position and altitude during the flight time. Captured thermal videos are then sent to a ground server to be analyzed via 5G communication. Thus, combining two cameras can result in better visualization of vegetation areas. The flight test verified how agricultural drones equipped with special cameras could collect image data in vegetation areas.
A pyrogen type igniter was designed to satisfy the requirements of KSLV-I Kick Motor system. To insure the reliability of the igniter before the production of the flight model, we have been performed the structure, environmental, combustion tests. The hydraulic test was carried out to confirm the strength of the components of the igniter. The shock and vibration tests were considered to check whether the igniter operates normally under the severe environmental condition. The combustion tests were also performed to understand the ignition characteristics with the variation of initial condition. Finally, we confirmed that the igniter could provide the acceptable energy to ignite the propellant of kick motor at the ground test.

This paper describes the system integration laboratory's requirement analysis, implementation, and verification for multiple-scenario unmanned aerial vehicle operation and control technology using a manned rotorcraft for Manned-Unmanned Teaming. System integration laboratory consists of manned rotorcraft flight simulation, unmanned aerial vehicle flight and mission equipment simulation, ground control system simulation for unmanned aerial vehicle control and change in the control authority between the ground control system and manned rotorcraft, and operation and control system for mission plan's writing and transmission. Each implemented simulation verified the requirements through software and hardware integration test.
Pressurization system of a 50m unmanned airship was manufactured according to the detailed design. In this paper. the whole procedures including system design. simulation and fabrication were described. The fabricated part were ground tested to check compliances with design requirements. Ground tests include operational tests, leakage tests, endurace tests and low temperature environmental tests. Results shows pressurization system of a 50m unmanned airship meets design requirements. Currently. pressurization system is installed to the KARI airship, Via 50m and performance verification through the flight tests are being conducted.
The mounted store on an aircraft shall be subjected to an ground separation test to verify that a safe separation has been made before it is actually installed to the aircraft. In this study, ground ejection test was conducted with dummy missile to verify the stability of the drop on the land. Bomb rack unit essential to testing ground ejection test, operate at high pressure and produce a significant ejection force to push the missile away from any large orifice. Bomb rack unit modified their bombe pressure and orifice diameter to photograph the drop movement of dummy missile with high-speed camera and to analyze their drop displacement and speed. It is considered useful to provide the initial data for the ejection force analysis on aircraft with actual flight and to carry out the ground separation tests of aircraft with future developments.
